    That’s closed minded to set the limit for someone. Everyone is capable of anything they set their mind to, the question is whether they are willing to do something about it. Like he said, tell them how far their attitude will get them and push them to be better. Not because you know they can be better, because they can be better.

      Yes, setting a limit for someone is bad. However, the idea that everyone is capable of anything they set their mind to is just capitalist ideological nonsense ("be anything you want to be"). It's the kind that keeps psychologists in business, when people realize they've been spending 20 years of their lives trying to fit their square self into round holes that they'll never fit into. We're all born with a variety of aptitudes, some stronger, some not so strong. Getting the opportunity and then taking advantage of it to maximize the former and help along the weaker ones, and remain persistent about it, is the best we can do.
