- The Testarossa was introduced at the 1984 Paris Auto Show as a formidable yet user-friendly competitor to Lamborghini’s Countach, thanks in part to its all-new 4-valve heads, putting out 380 bhp at 6300 rpm. Powered by the four valve version of Ferrari’s horizontally opposed flat-twelve cylinder "Boxer" engine, the Testarossa was quick, comfortable and made all the right sounds. Its dramatic side strakes helped to channel air into the dual rear-mounted radiators, which kept both the engine and cabin from overheating. Stylistically, the Testarossa stunned the world with its avant-garde styling. Long, low and wide, the Testarossa appeared even more so thanks to the extensive use of horizontal slating, a feature that would later be replicated on other Ferraris and on many other lesser cars. Thanks to its user friendly cabin and creature comforts, the Testarossa was very plush with leather seats, rear shelf, headliner and visors. Beneath these striking features was a surprisingly handsome form that remains as stunning today as it was when introduced thirty-six years ago. The front compartment is reasonably sized and the car is very comfortable, has light steering, is easy to drive and has great visibility, making it an ideal way to cover long distances at high speeds in comfort. Top speed was good for 180 mph while 0-60 took just 5.2 seconds.

In the realm of supercar history, few designs have managed to captivate and astonish enthusiasts quite like the Ferrari Testarossa and Lamborghini Countach. These two automotive marvels stand tall as the epitome of bold and breathtaking design.
The Testarossa is one of my favorite cars since i was a kid! 😍👏👏👏
Not a Boxer engine, but a flat 180° V12. The difference is in the architecture of the engine.
One crankshaft pin for every piston rod in the boxer engine; two in this engine as in every other "normal V12.
This creates a completely different type of motion and erogation.
A Very under appreciated UA-cam Channel
One of my favorites of all time.👌
Such an iconic car. been on my MUST get one list since I was 17.
best supercar ever
The best Ferrari I have ever owned and driven every chance I had! Biggest mistake I've made car wise=I sold it years ago!
The car to buy now before goes to the sky...
I have an '89 and many Porsches. The Testarossa is a rocket. You definitely have to learn how to drive it because it's not nimble like a Porsche 911. People go nuts when they see it - there are always several people taking pictures of it if I park somewhere. Even young kids get excited.
Love the Testarossa!
Love the testarossa. Always enjoy your videos.😊
Great video! Always enjoy the history lessons.
The older I get, the more I like the tan interiors lol.
Nice video Colleen, always enjoy your reviews. Love the Testarossa, but the mid mounted V8 will have to do for now.....
i love your trousers - - - - - i think the "skinny" thing is "on its way out" - - - - - you look just as good as my favourite 328
V12? This is a flat twelve! Bad title! I love Colleen’s commentaries!
Technically these engines are 180 degree V12's due to the firing order, flat plane crank and so forth.
it's a flat 12-cyl but not a boxer engine. It's a 12-cyl with a "V" of 180°.
The difference is in the architecture of the engine.
One crankshaft pin for every piston rod in the boxer engine; two in this engine as in every other "normal V12.
TOTALLY AWSOME VIDEO!!! I LOVE THEM IN THE 80'S. AND I LOVE THEM TODAY. I LOVE DON JOHNSONS WHITE TESTAROSA FROM MIAMI VICE!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!! GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING. I LEARNED SO MUCH.
Fantastic video, Colleen! I would love a 93 Testarossa but will have to make do with an 04 Crossfire. Where I live a real Stratos rally car would make more sense!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷, my favorite car, Mi auto favorito!
Ferrari terrossa vs lamborghini countch is Legend in the movie classicial
It's a special platform for sure, and quite a few were made. Although it's a V12, I love everything about the SP3 - almost as if this market sector is back, albeit a limited scale.
When car’s were cars and men were men
very gothic
I owned a 91
Technically the flat 12's are 180 degree v12, def not a boxer
To each their own, but in my opinion it was a sad day when they replaced the 512BBi with this car. The 512 was flowing and beautiful and the Testarossa was and is sort of plain looking in comparison and it certainly has none of the beauty of its name sake Testa Rossas from the late 50s and early 60s. I will admit however that the Testarossa looks a lot better in real life than in photos, but it still doesn't compare to the Boxer.
BB's are gorgeous, TR's are at best eye sores with the squared side scoops and greceless shaping. The first time I saw one in person in the '80s it was barely worth a pause when walking by. Yes, they have many practical improvements. I'll never be in the buying pool so these are all moot points.
Not a V12, not a Boxer, certainly not a V12!
It is a 180°V12.
150k is way too high for this example though
"Promo sm" 🎉
Who is writing these scripts? The Testarossa had a FLAT 12, not a V. The only V12 in the 80's was the 400i/412, which was FR.. All the other mid-engined 80's models had 6 or 8 cylinders. If you're gonna do a Ferrari history channel, at lease get the facts straight! SMDH
Ooh, stop it. Don't make a video about a Testarossa and calling it Testarosa. Just so wrong.
how to make a beautiful woman ugly = tattoo's
Maybe for you, sure not for her
