This is the best shape I've seen Dennis in. The symmetry is there and it really plays well to his natural shape. The gut is tight and the slim waist coupled with high lats makes for a great look.

Rightly stated...but there is one man now who has both size( round muscle bellies) and aesthetics with a small waistline ...He is 'Cedric McMillan'...but the only problem is he never shows up peeled..with good conditioning ...I think he have a problem with that....daamnn...he can even hit those classic poses with perfection

Boos at his 4th place judgement & the whole place cheering & whistling at him as he held his trophy & waved at the fans. This guy was a fan favorite & will be missed on that stage

After Haney and Dorian, all emphasis was put on the "back" if you wanted to place high or win the Olympia.....well some people's body don't naturally fill out like that....Most people who size up to get the back bigger, will also get the gut bigger, from all the heavy compound movements....look at how many pro's brought up their back at the expense of their waistline. Look at Cutler in 2001-2002, he looked better there than in any of his Olympia wins where he had a super wide waist. But the judges said it was Ronnie's back(which was a natural freaky body part Ronnie) that was making the difference. Remember it was Ronnie's injury in his Lat muscle that opened the door for the first Cutler win.
Dennis really dialed it in this year, going from last place to 5th! He brought back this classic physique (and posing music too!) even bigger and better... One of my favorite bodybuilders showing he still means business!
Dennis was amazing that year. yes, he had his imperfections just like anybody else but what’s most important for me is the way your body flows when you are just standing relaxed. his waste was so tight, effortlessly tight, not because he needed to tuck it in or do the vacuum, it was just a small clean waste without unnecessary muscles and no vacuum which i think is just silly and he had calves back then…. based on that look he deserved a mr O title, at least THAT year, just like Dex in 08… but hey, it’s not a sport… it’s a beauty contest with people pulling strings….

I vaguely recall that was the issue (calves) that year, I think it was in the prejudging the night before that they knocked him on that... and lower back. Not that prejudging is the end all be all, since I think Jay or Ronnie was holding a bit of water the night before and the next night came in looking dry.
