Macaiah sure is lucky Fire Emblem is renowned for it's consistent characterization and lack of egregious war crimes. what is foreshadowing again? i forgot
Micaiah’s later choices do make sense though. During part 3 she is stretched thin and essentially forced to choose between Daien and everyone else and she chooses Daien. If she fails everyone dies and she feels that pressure. She breaks her own morals because that is the only choice she has.
I haven't really played RD yet but I really like the Dawn Brigade. An intentionally designed weak player army is interesting and gives the group a cool underdog appeal to them. It's a shame that it has led to them being generally unpopular, especially since I love Micaiah at least design wise and she seems like a decent character.
Yeah I also really like the Dawn Brigade! I do wish they got a bit more screen time/characterization past Part 1, but I still really enjoy using them long term & giving them their own little training arcs in my RD runs
The only thing more absurd than what Micaiah's being forced to hamper the spirit of the challenge with is that AM I SEEING ASTRID FRONTLINE IN P4! I'll be following this run with great interest, I wanna desperately see what leads to this.
I enjoyed it and subscribed because I’m looking forward to the other parts. I thought this was older when I first started the video and thought it would be an already finished series.
the foreshadowing in this video irt micaiah is so heavy handed it would put echoes alm to shame. a very entertaining video though i’m excited to see the rest of the parts :)
Glad you enjoyed! Admittedly I did get a bit carried away poking fun at Micaiah in this one, but I just couldn't help it haha. Definitely not the last time she'll be making plot relevant story appearances in the run
I can't say for sure without actually mapping out all the movement/unit positioning, but routing the reinforcements a turn early with a BEXPed Micaiah might be possible, although it probably wouldn't work out in the long run. Looking at enemy stats, she'd need at least 9-10 BEXP levels just to double/one-round, and the Dawn Brigade is surprisingly tight on BEXP, even on easy mode. I don't wanna spoil too much right now, but we have some pretty stringent BEXP requirements for a couple of the Dawn Brigade's Part 3 clears that we may not be able to hit if Micaiah got such a fat BEXP dump, so in the long run BEXPing up Micaiah would probably lead to more combats in other maps down the line. Still an interesting idea though!
Very nice video, I remember back then when I was a kid that I didn't realize how strong Edward could be and bench him very early in the game. I have a suggestion about a strategy you might use for a more pacifist outcome (If I remember correctly the game and how it works) : you could unequipt your unit and let them tank a hit or two to bait ennemies out of your way in "kill the boss" maps ? This way you won't hurt anyone :p
Haha yeah I also used to be pretty low on Edward when I played the game growing up too, but I've had a lot of fun recently using him on my last few playthroughs. His growths are actually pretty nuts and there are some fun builds/skill combos you can do by taking advantage of his innate access to wrath, so he can be really fun to use if you choose to train him up long term. It is a bit of a shame that his low-ish bases give him a bit of a rough start, and he often still gets outclassed by Zihark in a lot of ways, but I don't think that means he can't still make for a solid combat unit if trained up properly. And yeah I believe you're right about unequipping, although with the specific ruleset I'm using for the run that's still generally something I'd want to avoid, since I'm trying to minimize _any_ combats my units engage in. In some ways this goes against the spirit of a "pure" pacifist run, since it's often better to kill any enemies I'm forced to enter combat with, but it was kinda a concession I had to make so the overall approach to the game and the strategies I'd have to come up with were a bit more interesting.
It's such a breath of fresh air seeing a Fire Emblem challenge that's not on the highest difficultly and in Radiant Dawn. Two aspects of the series that most creators don't touch. It's great.
Glad you enjoyed! As one of my favorite games, I was pretty excited to have found a Radiant Dawn run where I could play around with all its fun mechanics and the crazy amount of BEXP you get on easy mode
Don't forget y'all, "Easy" mode in Radiant Dawn was "Normal" mode in Japanese -- the translation team simply changed the name to better match Path of Radiance's difficulty options (our "Normal" mode is Japan's "Hard" mode)
@@alexisdipoalo9443 That sounds like a really fun challenge! I always like training up at least a few of the Dawn Brigade members but have never tried getting all of them going in one playthrough
@@osfe_ it's fun but training all the laguz to level 30 is hard... Weirdly vika and friends are actually the easiest part of the challenge as long as I accept they'll be level 30 with bonus exp in the tower ( I can only get 1 of them to 30 I think )
Ah yeah I didn't really even think about the Laguz, and there are sooo many to train up too. Part of me thinks it'd be awesome just to be able to see a trained Lyre/Kyza tear through enemies, but also getting them there (while still balancing exp gain on everyone else) seems like it'd be pretty tough
@@osfe_ you don't wanna know what I'm likely gonna have to do for them.... ( I wanna upload it but my PC isn't able to use s wii emulator at a high resolution, good enough to play but noone gonna wanna watch a video on it lol ) All I'm Gonna say is... Punches will be thrown
I think that's actually another notable difference between Easy mode and Normal/Hard. For the defend map on Normal/Hard, the boss starts moving unprovoked on Turn 5 (and presumably the other two as well), but on Easy mode they're completely stationary as far as I could tell. I didn't actually realize this until going back and checking the AI info on the wiki, so thanks for bringing it up!
Yep, you're exactly right! The higher skill capacity she gets in a tier 2 class lets her equip a second skill, freeing up the inventory slot that it otherwise would've occupied. In hindsight I think I could've gotten away with forgoing the promotion and just bringing over 1 less item, but the Dawn Brigade gets more than enough money than they'll need in Part 3 anyways so I guess it never hurts. It's also just a neat little trick that's fun to do lol
Haha yeah that sounds amazing. I was actually originally planning to kill 3-12 Ike with Boots+Pass Jill but found something similarly hilarious that I ended up going with instead
That Leonardo kill...absolutely incredible. Truly strategic genius.
38:18 was a missed opportunity to use the angry, and possessed, Lyon avatar.

As if the Geneva convention exists in FE world
Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest reference?!?!

I have just started playing RD today so this comment is going to be really funny in a month and a half
Nice looking forward to the other three parts. It's quite clear that you put a lot of effort into the videos you produce. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it and am pretty happy with how it turned out, so that makes me happy to hear
Definitely an interesting challenge run.
Good job getting through Part 1.
And props to Leonardo's amazing contribution.

Imagining 1-5 from a story perspective is so funny. Fantastic video, keep it up!
Thank you youtube for suggesting me this 166 view video. It was made specifically for me. I am the target audience

37:23 you could use bonus exp, Thani, sacrifice healing to level up Micaiah so that she can kill too and you need to kill less reinforements

Man I love tormod. I sure hope that he doesn’t disappear into another plain for 50 hours
Can’t wait for him to rejoin the Dawn Brigade right in time for all those tough Part 3 maps !
38:12 BK venting unreal
He had ONE JOB
16:23 door counter attack bro what
Lowkey one of the scariest enemies in the game tbh
so cool

4 parts damn... idk
>trying to be a pacifist

RIP
Who said we'd be killing Pelleas :)
Do Laguz count as fallen ?
