New Hyde Park needs a pedestrian overpass or an underground pedestrian tunnel to the other platform. It's better than having to use the grade crossings to cross to the other side. You can find them at Mineola, Syosset, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington, many stations on the Ronkonkoma Branch, Jamaica, Woodside, and Carle Place.

What bothers me is that instead of blowing all that money on tearing down the previous station and replacing it with this phony retro-wannabe station house is that they could've used the money for both pedestrian AND vehicle crossings.
