In the late 60s, when I was a young boy the best collegiate sprinters were from St Augustin and Apam. That was the time we have George Daniel and Wilson. In Nkurumah's time, the government used to pick the best from these events and camped them in Accra for national competitions. Later, they are given scholarships to study in America. Lot of the soccer players from St Augustin were playing for Ebusia Dwarfs. I hope they will continue. I miss it. I have being in US for more than 35 years. Good luck to you all.
we've pumped all our money into the men's senior football team and have left the rest of the sports disciplines to feed on scraps. Casting back memory to 2001 as a freshman in Adisco when we won the superzo; athletes like Aserewa, zico, madcow, scaboo were just phenomenal, Botwe had mbaa nana and Brokey, Augusco had taaaasste etc. To think that none of these were able to pursue a career in their disciplines was just robbery. Meanwhile if they were in America or any other western or european country they would have been appreciated. Thank God that Azameti is training in the US and a few other Ghanaians over there. I hope they run for US and not Gh. At 3:28 ; that's my p.e teacher (wearing white polo and shorts with port belly) from primary and the head coach of Adisco when I was there
@@nanayawnketsiahninsoniii4462 I suppose you've never been to an Interco or SuperZo in Kumasi before. The sport festivals in Cape Coast and Accra are great but not at the level of the vibrancy and excitement in Kumasi.

This is the best place for the government and private sector to invest money.
