Isn’t it very risky to fire the aim120 at a target that’s dogfighting a friendly, especially so when you lose the TWS track? Why weren’t you worried about it hitting the friendly?

Yeah the drag you get from having the outboard pylons on by themselves let along with another double rack of aim-120’s makes you a lamb to the slaughter against the F-16’s who just have an insane speed advantage over you. In BVR speed and altitude is life 👌🏻

Wow great video!! Anyway, how did you do that on 6:57 ? Target highlight and Cycle on SA Page.
I bound the push button on the middle DDI that correspond to the step button to cycle between D/L contacts and just press that keybind to cycle through them all instead of using the mouse to click it if that makes sense
Bogey Dope means asking the AWACS or flight control to give you information on the target.
Affirm big daddy, spamming bogey dope is a trigger for me clearly haha

Hey buddy, thanks for the video. The main problem I'm facing is that the contacts are constantly breaking on TWS mode. Any tips?
I set my radar to TWS with 6B scan
In TWS or the horent radar in general you will struggle to get locks less than around 35NM now. The radar is more realistic with its detection ranges so if you are struggling to get and keep a lock that may be an issue. You need to keep an eye on what the bandit is doing too and change your PRF setting accordingly, even in TWS AUTO. If they are flying straight at you, you will want to be in HI PRF, if they are flying away or across you you want to be in MED PRF. If they manage to notch you... ie fly a perfect perpendicular 90degs across your nose your radar will lose lock no matter what setting it is in due to how pulse doppler radars work.
I usually run my radar at 4B scan, 40NM range, 40deg sweep and HI PRF setting as a start and then tweak from there depending on the situation

I used to fly Su-33 which used to help me to determine the distance of the missile to my aircraft while notching. But nowadays when I fly Hornet in GS server, I used to get shot down even if I notch it using terrain masking. If it is not efficient, then what should I do to shake off the missile. I try to get to 25,000-30,000 ft so the AMRAAM can work efficiently, but the enemy is able to fire and shoot down me, even if I get a faint lock on it, while trying to hit the deck and notching it
@@viewpoint5686 if you’re up against a higher and faster target than yourself there is not much you can do except turn cold and make the waste a missile… it’s not very fun but it’s the higher percentage play to stay alive… turn cold, hit the deck, extend away and regain altitude and try again on another target who is co altitude and speed or even better… lower and slower than you are.
how are you even locking targets at 50+ km? I can't get the F-18 in any mode no matter how narrow the radar/bar/intl past 35/40nm
Radar functions have been tweaked since that video mate, more realistic lock and detection ranges in hornet for sure now. The F16 radar is more like the old F18 radar and will get its nerf sooner or later too.
@@TorniQuetHD That makes sense! The f16's are already a force to be reconned with.. it doesn't help when they can lock on to outside the f18's range going mach 1.5 at 40k and run your ass down lol.

You mean the countermeasures switch to bypass? I prefer to have control of how many I deploy by doing it manually instead of using a program to save them from being wasted needlessly.

For BVR, F-16 is the king atm… for a dogfight I’d take a hornet over current state F-16 though
