@@KORGULL-ISOLATES It absolutely is not. Are you just getting into metal?

Hopefully aliens will hear this someday.......if they do they probably wouldn’t want to come to earth lol

One of the greatest albums of all time
"Consuming Impulse" cheers.
It's pretty fucking awesome.
A lot of Carcass fans say Descanting the Insalubrious is their best. But I agree, Heartwork is definitely in my top 2 all time. Along with Death-Symbolic.
Heartwork is the best.
@@Shootskas yea this a very close to second i must admit. The rawness of the Insalbrious is so good.
Carcass is one of the most pure metal bands while also being melodic. Listening to them is like looking into a clear prism.
So happy bands like this were still putting out great music during the horrid grunge years
goddamn sexy gorgeous album cover
I had the honor of seeing them live on this tour. They were fucking awesome. My neck still hurts.
Lucky as hell
I just watched Ben Ash play heartwork live on tiktok the other day... tough times. 😂
My balls still hurt. But thats from bludgeoning someone to death with them
Gotta admit this album took time to click for me because during my early death metal phase I felt it was not brutal enough. But now I understand why this album and Carcass in general are so beloved
the "not brutal enough" aspects are what give it that extra oomph imo. It allows groove and the occasional melody without being "too melodic" or anything. This album, Surgical Steel and even Torn Arteries all skillfully skate that line. Swansong dips way too far into the melodic catchiness but it makes it the most "fun" album. Rot n Roll lol
This album literally had some of the greatest death metal sound production refinement ever during it's time and possibly even to this day.

Masterpiece
Lucky you. Mine broke long ago....
The riffs in "Embodiment" could probably cure cancer if played loud enough.
"Quite astounding, 'tis resounding as a sound in my mind, I've found; I find. Musically, a frequency unto thee, a currency and fervent burning sea; pristine. The believed and perceived is seen teeming by the seeming some in a dream..."

If i knew before this song was thé cure to cancer, i would listen tot it more frequently... thanks for your advice, i hope it Will help!! Death metal forever!!!

Insane production but still raw at the same time
This album is 30 years old! That's unbelievable. It sounds like it could have been released more recently.
It's got 6 months to go before it turns 30. Marking it in my calendar.
That should tell you something.
Embodiment is the best song in existence I can’t believe how great this whole album is 🤘🏼
Close, but it's actually Buried Dreams
That riff might be the heaviest matter in the universe
same opinion. massive fat riffs.
@@SniprsCntSnipeMe very hard to choose
that riff at 18:15 is just........Melodic and groovy at the same time
This album is a masterpiece, one of the best death metal Albums of all time
Agreed. At The Gates Slaughter Of The Soul comes to mind also. GOLD!
初めカーカスデス声なので!敬遠してましたけど!聞いたら見事にハマリました!ハートワーク最高ですね😊
How is this album still so goddamn good?
You would have to ask the creators....
Timeless classic 👌
because it is pure talent
I would say it's the combination of death metal riffs, bluesy-pentatonic solos and the often used switch froma fast-paced thrash rhythm to a groove metal mid-tempo.
of course it's impossible not to mention the incredible tone created by the sound engineer, keith andrews, a real joy to listen
@@fabiaccio8493 and a black metal voice. a powerful combination
This Mortal Coil and Heartwork, my favourite Carcass songs
The only one's worth mentioning lol
The guitar work on carnal forge is friggin badass. The solos are excellent
the title track is simply iconic! (This mortal coil, too. oh, and Death certificate! all of them xD)
35:31 - 35:38 love those major scale riffs in the background as the solo fades away

SACRIFICE = "that bell sound"😎
This album would be in the discussion for my fav metal album of all time. Still sounds so kickass, never gets old. One of those albums where you just wanna listen to the entire thing all the way through because it flows so perfectly. Perfect amount of blast beat drumming without getting repetitive, unlike shitty modern bands. perfection
Necroticism is my favorite Carcass album but Heartwork is a very close second.
É DIFICIL ESCOLHER NÉ ??
wow man! Carcass is the best metal band ever
necriticism is the change. the evolution in their art

Loves Carcass
This is unique and singular album, never will be made something similar this one;putting Carcass on red carpet of heavy metal as well as the most important record from over its career.
One of the greatest heavy metal albums and its almost 3 decades old. Now when this was released in 93, compare that to how music sounded 3 decades before that in 1963.
Except that Carcass was melodic death metal in this album, not heavy metal.
@@D14V0R05 certainly but the roots are there.
@@D14V0R05 death metal is heavy metal too
@@krisamagus1 Nah that's just how ignorant mainstream media likes to tag it, they bundle all metal as heavy metal, and all other musical genres similar to rock as "alt rock"
@@D14V0R05 dm is a subgenre of hm. Heavy metal is subgenre of the rock category. So basically death metal is rock music. understand?
Such a crushing masterpiece from the early days of death. I've read hater comments briefly & I think they are gits that cant understand the death n roll awesomeness going on. This album is bulletproof & still holds up, 30 years later.
Death n roll ❤
awesome album, thanks for the upload
Bill Steer: Guitars
Jeff Walker: Vocals-Bass
Michael Amott: Guitars
Ken Owen: Drums
I remember hating everything about this when it came out,
The clean sound, the in time playing, the Thin Lizzy guitar solos, vocals you can understand the words, the ARTWORK!
It just seemed so wrong compared to the early carcass stuff.
Now I realise that everything about this album is magnificent!
It's a death metal masterclass.
H.G. Giger did the artwork same artist celtic frost has used
@@donaldboggs2553It’s H.R. Giger. The same artist who created Alien.
This album pretty much transformed my musical preference. H.R Geiger was also new to me . I don't remember much of the 90's tbh
Que buenos guitarristas... Excelente grupo y álbum.
Greatwork! Never lost love for this Masterpiece 🤘❤️
Un antes y un después en el género...mostraron un caminó a seguir..Aguante CARCASSSSSSSSS
My favorite era of death metal is just before it broke off more cleanly from its thrash roots and we have this incredibly groovy but far more technical and dank sound
I get what you're trying to say, but it's fundamentally misleading. The band Death released EP of what would become Death Metal a year before Slayer released EP of what would become Thrash metals. They're more like siblings than one leading to the other...
Wow 2 years since that, upload the time flies
I remember that, except for Reek Of Putrefaction and Heartwork, any of their albums were on yb
And suddenly, I think August 8, It just appeared
Great to see so much people here listening to Carcass songs, still loving this band so much

Yea im remember I remember banging my head to it on the bus with my koss cd player. Yea we're old
Im suprise to see so much comment on the last 2 week....nov 2020....more than 27 years...
It is almost certainly due to listening to the newly released EP and then, after finishing that, having this album come up in the queue. That's how I've arrived here.
I searched it for nostalgia reasons and to get out some frustration haha it works good as ever
I'm buying a fuckin guitar again!!
Underrated album.
Underrated band
@@mxdelfino How are they underrated? Everyone wanted to sound like them.
Many people say that this album is the pioneer of Melodic Death Metal, and in fact, before 1993, there was no band doing a sound like this, and besides being the pioneers of Melodic Death Metal, Carcass were the pioneers of Goregrind, and Grindcore (Considering that Bill Steer is one of the founding members of Napalm Death, which can really be called the first Grindcore band). And also, several people say that Heartwork is a huge influence on Metalcore, and taking into account the size of this scene, even if people don't like it, this makes Carcass one of the most influential metal bands in the world.
Underrated? Lol 😂
@@frencei agree that carcass were the progenitors of a lot of genres like melodic death metal and grindcore but metalcore? No that would be at the gates "the red in the sky is ours" album! But no disrespect to carcass because personally i like carcass over at the gates. \m/
Congrats on 1k subs!! Thanks for this video, saw you were at 999 subs figured I’d be that guy 😂
Glorious guitar sound voice power quality music
I like the heavy thick sound that also has technical sharpness. What I like more is the mid-tempo slower stuff. and the groove.
Aaaaaaaaaargh fuckin love this album
Almost 30 years later & I can hear Kreator's People of the Lie in the track Heartwork. Crazy I don't even listen to metal anymore. Such a great album here!

Bill Steer is my pick for greatest metal guitarist ever, idk about you. Created grindcore, melodeath, and pioneered death and roll with Entombed as well. His writing is top tier in Firebird too. Heartwork and Necroticism are both 10’s to me
In futility, for self preservation, we all need someone...someone to hate.

I can easily put this in my top five favorite albums. I probably would mix it to sound more punchy and make the guitar solos stick out more. In general make it sound even more brutal.

Power Metal? Wtf?

A classic and in my opinion The beginning of a very well executed refinement of a classic sound I will attempt to elaborate a bit, So like in my (very strong enamorme the band) Symphonies of Sickness is One of their Albums that literally took my (Epiphany) of this genre to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL ‼️
I was just so (at a bit of a lost for??? ) What I believed at the time was that I was A: Over the moon at being introduced to the a GoreGrind genre
B: Carcass for me was the pinnacle band for me at my Newishness to the genre (Reek of Putrifaction) being the main album to groove to...C:. Then I heard The title track to Symphonies of Sickness and the intro upon first time ever hearing it D: Was a cathartic, Epiphany, that 666% Changed the very fabric of my Chromosomes
E: Literally saw the Light....I never experienced my reality quite the same!¡!¡ I know I'm probably sounding like a Fruit Cake of the First Water, So, this album with it's equally groundbreaking (different for sure) But still being played with the same heartfelt true to their legacy enthusiasm and professionalism with Yes,a refinement of their sound but still true blue aggressiveness that was always a staple of their Albums, Never Pus-Pussed out,got Less (heavy) Simply put Another Fucking Pure Gold Effort from a band who with the amount of Time they have under their belt, would of exhausted and sent any lesser band packing and writing their Autobiographies ‼️👁️🏁
