Good interview to get more info about the differences between the v800 & v850.
Very nice to hear that someone asks about Linux support.
As Android runs by Linux, it is interesting to know are there ever coming a network support to scanners same way as printers had, without doing complex USB-OVER-NETWORK sharing.
A wireless scanner that would allow scan from Android device would be interesting, at least on document side.
Need to scan 1000's of slides, does this machine take un mounted single slides? because they are in card mounts and the glue has gone off so do you need to mount into a glass or glassless slide mount. Don't like the idea of scanning through two extra layers of glass. Would be great if a film carrier would take multiple 35mm un mounted slides. Thanks.
Mark from Epsom mentioned the slightly adjustable carriers that can be used to help focus in the images. He also mentioned scanning 8x10’s if placed directly onto the glass but there obviously won’t be any tolerance or adjustment as mentioned previously. Any idea how users are getting by with out of focus media?
I don't quite understand the question? How could a scanner fix an OOF source image?
thanks for the great information. i have an additional question. when loading the 35mm film strip, do i have to cut up the negative? what are your recommendations for the negatives once they are scanned? should i still keep them? thanks for the great detail and review i appreciate it!
I believe the 35mm film holders allow for strips of 5 or 6. Personally I never throw away my negatives so you are asking the wrong person there! I have mine in negative preservers amzn.to/2y9q9Hc and store those in binders.
Regarding your other questions from my site: You can scan to jpeg or tiff files and they can be opened in any program. I use Adobe Lightroom to manage my scanned and digital images.
thank you so very much! i appreciate that.
thank you so much. can i save both files simultaneously or do i have to rescan to have both the jpeg or the tiff? i have tried calling epson but the reps know very little. thanks for your help.
Why would you want to have both? Personally I would use TIFF files as my primary storage, secondary PSD files if I needed to do additional editing and only export JPEGs if I was sending them to someone else. I delete my JPEGs when I'm done with them, they just waste hard drive space.
What is the name of the product manager? I need to contact him
Can 35 and 120 rolls be scanned without cutting the rolls into strips? I want to keep the photos together on the roll.
I'll check with Epson and get back to you...
+Mark Stambaugh Official answer from Epson is they must be cut. The film holders will only allow for so many frames per strip. I am, however going to experiment with another idea I had to make it work. Can you send me an email so I can get back to you?
@@cazillo I'm actually interested about this topic. Did you find any answers? You can send me an email at fotografiemihaiflorea@gmail.com. Thank you!
Any news on new scanners from Epson?
I second this Question.
when you scan a 35mm negative, does it come out in colour?
Is it a color neg?
@@cazillo It is a standard negative taken with a normal (not black & white) camera years ago, when developed it comes out in color for sure but looking at it now its a negative.
Then yes. The scanner will reverse it.
pointless video, they don't even demonstrate how it works???
+Stephanie Grime ??? Not pointless at all, there's plenty of good info here.
