Gotta admit, the Aussie camo pattern on those M1's is pretty darn sexxy.

It's the M1 tanks in Auscam. Looks amazing
imagine having a country in the Pacific but her cities engineered just like Europe. Damn, Australia cities is damn clean and well structured. A few miles north, Indonesian cities are complete mess.
Reunite The British Empire what about Singapore and Hong Kong?
@Reunite The British Empire so you say some countries succeed because they have 'friends' who invest in them. Huh? The British empire itself was an empire marked by exploitation and greed. Now we can see London swarmed by people of the former 'empire'. We can it Londonistan. Enjoy you fish n chips. It doesn't taste nice to me.
@@akmalbruhaha4658 Japan's a good example of what a homogeneous country can achieve. But then again their declining population is a big problem over there so they're rooting for more immigrants.
I'd say that cities in Australia are more akin to cities in the US. There about the same age 150~250 years old and downtown's feature similar mix of old colonial architecture with modern sky rises.
@@nathanasio2829 Japan certainly are NOT rooting for immigrants, they accept a handful of highly skilled workers on temporary visas, They're not party to the UNHCR resettlement program . They've accepted less then 100 refugees since 2016, as appose to Australia roughly 6000 per year (12000 in 2012/13 due to the Arab Spring). Japan will remain an ethnically homogeneous country.
Love the 2/14th! Worked with them back in the '80's and '90's. Great job fell's!. Great video, thanks for posting.
I’ve always loved the Aus camo/color pattern.
I was here for this! Will remember it for the rest of my life. Need more parades like this one.
Australia has a more imposing military parade every year than Moscow is an odd timeline to live in. But here we are.
Thank you I really enjoyed it!
Personally I would like to see our active personal grow to 100,000 and reserve personal 45,000.
More subs, more helicopters, more fighter aircraft, more main battle tanks, more ships. More special forces
@@KonaCommuter and who might these "enemies" be?
Why would we upsize the army? a better medical system will save more lives than a slightly larger army.
This is an old fashioned wish mate... modern military conflicts between modern nations wont be fought with soldiers and tanks. What we should be investing in is long range firepower in terms of missiles and defenses from such weapons. A huge fleet of UAV strike craft would be really useful too.
you know how much 100,000 active personal army would cost? Australia doesn't have conscripts like Russians and Chinese do and Australian soldiers get paid multiple times more than high ranking officers in Russia or China, 100K army would eat up entire defense budget and than what? instead how about investing in military tech and acquiring proper equipment instead of junk that ADF buys like AWD destroyer, for $10B they could have bought 3x arleigh burke class destroyer with 96X VLSMs on each and ballistic defense activated and could have been used as offensive warship instead of buying defensive so called destroyers, and how about buying Virginia class Nuclear subs instead of some shit that will never work and costs a lot more.

@@terrain7879 what is Armed Forces day in USA? I Never even heard of it. I have heard of Veterans day. So we have Memorial day but no free food. We got Armed FOrces day but no free stuff. Veterans Day we get the free food, oil changes, haircuts. Interesting. I joined military when I was 17 and now I am 57 and just heard about Armed Forces day and googled it. third Saturday of every May
In 1961, John F. Kennedy declared Armed Forces Day a national holiday. It's celebrated on the third Saturday of every May and is exhibited by exercises, parades, and receptions that highlight and honor our amazing military and all of its strength.
Instead you get Black lives matter protests and riots
Teach your troops proper drill first mate.
It's really rare in Australia that's why it's special this happened. 2/14 LHR have traditionally made up the bulk of the troops based in Brisbane so it's the city honouring them with freedom of the city so they pass down it symbolically. Won't happen again or not at least for a hundred years. ANZAC Day there are parades but you won't see the tanks or ASLAVs involved.
The number of vehicles that were present is impressive. I thought they were just gonna send a a dozen or so armoured vehicles just for show but they sure put in a bit of effort here….

Hundredth anniversary of the battle of Beersheba, fought by the second fourteenth
@@MrMikel1966 actually, the 2nd/14th did not participate in the Battle, of Berrsheeba, especially since at the time it was not a single regiment. The 2nd/14th Light Horse was the amalgamation of two WW1 Light Horse Regiments, the 2nd and the 14th, and neither fought at Beersheba. The 2nd fought at nearby Tel el Saba, and this was part of the greater battle for Gaza-Beersheba for which a single battle honour was awarded.
As for the attack on and capture of Beersheba, that was the 4th and 12th Light Horse Regiments, with the 11th in support and who later reinforced Beersheba after the town was captured.

Sweet American armor. ;D
As an Aussie I respect the Americans armourment, as the Abrams are truly something else.
With a German designed main gun.
@@fuzzylogic8573While it's true that the gun is shared with Germany, that's the only thing they share - a main gun. The M1A2 Abrams variant succeeds above all other tanks in doing it's job. Now you'll ask me why? Why is it better than the German Leopard II when the Leopard II has the same gun?
The Leopard II was made assumptions that it's the finest tank. However, that reputation for nigh-invincibility has faced setbacks on Syrian battlefields.
And from what we've seen it's easily concluded that even the MA1A can sometimes perform the job better than the Leopard in rough terrain.
But back to the original question. The answer is because America improved the M1A1 into M1AHA and then into MA2A. It's protection is not better, but vastly superior to all other main battle tanks. The M1A2 has depleted uranium plate inside it's mesh-reinforced composite armor. At this point the Abram armor has evolved so strong that it tops every other tank in defense & protection. It is virtually impossible for another tank to penetrate the front/hull of the M1A2.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the round most used for the gun is the depleted-uranium sabot round, nicknamed the “silver bullet”, and it is this round that allows the Abrams to rip almost any kind of armor. Germany cannot afford itself to use this silver bullet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M829.
@@fuzzylogic8573 And lastly, to ensure information security, all IVIS data transmissions are routed through the M1A2's SINCGARS radio system. Improving on the "hunter-killer" tank commander-gunner target hand off method pioneered on the German Leopard II, the M1A2 takes this a step further by providing the Tank Commander with an independent thermal sight. This CITV sight allows the commander to independently scan for targets in all weather conditions and through battlefield obscurants. In addition to IVIS and the CITV, the M1A2 incorporates a number of additional electronic upgrades. Power distribution throughout the tank has been improved, relying on multiple bus paths so that in the event one conduit is damaged, power may still be delivered to a component via an alternate path. The driver's instrument display has been upgraded to a more detailed digital display and the Gunner's Primary Sight has been stabilized in two axes for increased accuracy.
I'm at ease saying American armor is really the best. But not the exported one, the one designed for the United States. ;D
And I hope they will continue in this quest of theirs manufacturing the ultimate hunter-killer tank for the sake of protecting our national interests. ;D
@@xfantasiax3903 I never doubted that the tank is probably the finest battle tank in the world , just pointing out the main gun is German designed which is no biggie because the company that designed it is a world class weapons manufacturer which is why the Australian government is buying 400 boxer's from them.
Just 1 H Bom and everything is gone in less than 1 second.
There is currently only one country in the world that would use their nuclear weapons in anything but a last ditch defensive posture. All other countries that have them realize that they're best used as a threat.... The next war will be financial with some strategic elements purely to gain resources.
And whatever country launched the H bomb would be gone the next second by an H bomb from another country.
