Preston doesn't work as shown with Constricting Sliver: Preston's copies are Illusions, but doesn't say "in addition to their other types". The tokens are not Slivers, meaning they don't have any of the abilities granted to Slivers, which means they don't even exile anything themselves - they're just granting an ETB to tbe creature that entered before them.
Oh shit you're totally right! Totally glossed over that change since I was adding more exile creatures. Stacking slivers seemed nuts, makes sense why it doesn't work. Definitely would have changed the game a bit. But that's at home magic for ya 🤷♂️
Actually, when Leonin Relic-Warder flickered, the trigger to return would go to the stack at the same time as the ETB, so Bryce had to choose a new target because Bath Song was still in exile.
That Magus deck is such a fun variant on landfall. If you find you’re short on draw I might recommend a few short draw spells like Preordain or Chart a Course, they help you smooth out your early turns and then can help you find the next big X spell in the late game. Could also do draw spells that let you drop extra lands like Growth Spiral, Escape to the Wilds, or Urban Evolution. Overall it’s a joy to watch and I hope you keep testing it out
I've been playing magus Lucea Kane for a long time and have to recommend "freed from the real" it allows you to untap Lucea as many times as you have blue mana so not only does it give you more colorless mana it also will copy your next x spell for as much blue mana you have. Also I recommend "Muddle the mixture" its not only a counter spell, you can spend 3 mana to discard it and search any 2 mana and x spell in your library from zoanthrobe to any of the finale cards. I'm loving your magus Lucea Kane deck and cant wait to see what you do with her in the future!
Preston is my current favorite deck I have in paper, and I love seeing other peoples takes on it. the use of O-Ring creatures and Anthem creatures is really cool, and it gave me some ideas to tweak my list.
if you want a fun x spell for magus I really like ecological appreciation, it's a tutor but you tutor 4 creatures of mana value x or less, and then your opponent chooses 2 of them for you to put on the battlefield, it's fun when you use it with her ability so you can give them the same options as last time on top of some other threats, instant board of creatures you technically gave the choice to someone else but you're not going to choose bad creatures for them to pick from
I really hope to see more of the Lucea Kane deck in the future. It's one of the more unique decks that I've seen and I think it's super cool seeing a unique take on a commander.
Preston was devastating, but let's face it: it was Elesh MoM that was the MVP of the game. That's what happens when she's left alone. Double ETBs are no joke (just ask Yarok), and the fact that she shuts down the opponents' ETBs on top of that is even better.
I built Tom Bombadil myself and he's a little tricky to build. You need to play about 20 Sagas to reliably get things going but none of them are really synergistic with eachother. Taking such a huge chunk out of your deck real-estate for non-synergistic cards menas you have a lot fewer options for ramp, draw and protection once you're done fitting in the cards that help you get the most out of said sagas. That's not even counting the fact the deck has no clear wincon either. That said, I've found that if built right, is the kind of deck that can absolutely take over an entire game if left to its own devices for even just a turn or two. It needs to be dealt with fast because it snowballs out of control pretty quickly. Unfortunately, Tom is ill-equipped to deal with focused hate from the group. So the deck's performance is at the mercy of the whims of the pod.
My magus lucea deck ramps very hard as well. Mine is all the pre con tyranids with x that have ravenous, some x spell hydras for fun, and usually I end up winning with a huge copied comet storm.
This is incorrect. You still assign X damage to the Bugler, and the rest to their face. The shield counter just prevents the damage to the Bugler, and that much lifeline healing from happening.
I get removal isn’t always fun for content but come on. No wipes whatsoever? Literally the only person with creature removal was couz and shocker he won
After one game where I did scry 2 and scry 3 in succession, sent five lands to the bottom and drew a sixth land, I can totally believe that he drew only lands and ramp.
But that's still 3x Charming Prince ETBs on each player's end step right? (2x used for scry, life, or flickering a different creature, 1x for flickering OG Prince to keep up the loop)@@MTGMuddstah
Preston is cool. Have a deck myselfe and it gets complicated quickly. You need to kill Preston asap (and prob. Elesh Norn) with whatever you have. Otherwise you might get overrun in just one round.
Putting the +1/+1 on Lucea during your opponents upkeep is apparently a universal part of playing her
It's kind of like when people tap creatures with vigilance to attack
Can confirm lol

Looking forward to seeing your Magus deck list!
I absolutely love the Magus Lucea Kane deck. Can't wait for the deck list to drop so i can build it

I was just this morning looking for Preston gameplay because he is a terrifying, wascally wabbit.
Everytime I hear Couz, my brain goes Cuzco and hear yeah baby
Currently building my own Landfall Lucea deck (Although a budget one)!
Eager to see the decklist and get some inspiration!
Love your videos!

Finally a new Preston gameplay. The rabbit is scary i love It.

Yeah she definitely adds lots of spice and guaranteed double etbs in the deck. I always forget it stops others too.
That Preston deck was amazing. Great game
Hoping to see your Lucina deck list soon want to see how to upgrade mines from yours

So excited to see your decklist for Magus lol

Shield on the bugler would have not only prevented all the trample damage but the lifelink as well
Good to know!

@@NordicRest Good to know!
Yeah, it would have only prevented the 3 damage assigned to Bugler. He would have gained 13 life, not 16.
Yeees! Arahbo's back!
Should probably tell Eric that Historian's Boon triggers off of every enchantment. Which includes enchantment creatures like Destiny Spinner.
Great game!!!
I love seeing preston decks there such a super fun commander!!!
That preston deck was such a cool list. unfortunately seemed to be a 3 player pod with tom lacking black
Wait, why did the Swords to Plowshare not remove the Magus?
My man not giving us updated deck list of Magus 😢
Bombadil decklist please
i have this problem with tom too, hard to get him out. Any ideas?
Preston is a scary bunny
10:32 no deberia haber ganado 1 vida, debido a elesh nor. ya que se lo impide por ser un efecto al entrar a campo.
Wouldn't echoing equation be a crazy good addition to magus lucea kane? You could just turn all your creatures into copies of her and go insane
That could be fun!
"Its the whole package" - summary of magic design these days 😅
I never thought Preston could be so powerful, I'm definitely building it!
Ps:I want to see Tom Bombadil too! I hope he makes a return
It was that powerful because of Elesh Norn doubling the ETBs.
I get removal isn’t always fun for content but come on. No wipes whatsoever? Literally the only person with creature removal was couz and shocker he won
Nobody running board wipes?
Good game
Good to see arahbo coming back. An explosive commander that doesnt get played much anymore
You drew 13 cards and couldnt find a boardwipe??? Wow
After one game where I did scry 2 and scry 3 in succession, sent five lands to the bottom and drew a sixth land, I can totally believe that he drew only lands and ramp.
on turn 7, could Couz infinetly blink and make copies the original prince by his tokens etb ability?
Prince is until end of turn sadly. It doesn't return immediately.
He could have one of the copies blink the original to get the original's ETB every end step, yes.
But that's still 3x Charming Prince ETBs on each player's end step right? (2x used for scry, life, or flickering a different creature, 1x for flickering OG Prince to keep up the loop)@@MTGMuddstah

I am building Preston right now. Super impressed with this gameplay. ❤
Couz should have gained a LOT more life that game as Elesh Norn doubles the Soul Warden triggers
Me disappointed no board wipe was played
bro drew 13 cards and couldnt deal with a board
Bro drew like 10 lands and 2 ramp spells lol
Man that was hard to watch.
😡 P R O M O S M
