What a fun video to watch. Loved seeing your niece reeling in her first cat. Reminded me of my daughter with her first fish. It was a little flathead. That was a really lake too. Yep you are most definitely right, never enough garlic😋 on everything in my book. Dinner looked as delicious as it tasted im sure. Thanks again ya'll😊

Kayak guy was, as I’ve heard it called, “tuna boating”… his rods look like the outriggers and he’s got as much gear as a commercial fishing boat. This can lead to “yard sale-ing” if he capsizes… gear floating all over the place looking like a yard sale

Was that an Egret in the opening shot? Looked too white to be a Heron.

It may have been! We need to learn our bird species better so that we can start identifying them. They’re awesome to watch

got on them dinks. you can try a live bluegill for flathead if you have them around there. or you can cut them up in pieces i have a video how i do them on trotlines but i do small hooks so you can do bigger hooks and chunks. but i think fresh bait works the best. whats nice it stays on the hook good too. . i use skipjack mainly. if you have those and a dam near you try for those with like a 4-5 jig set up and have like a quarter ounce jig on the bottom and then go up like a foot and do 1/8th jig go foot up do 1/8th ounce jig then foot up and do 1/16 ounce jig. sith some crappie plastic baits white, red, or blue with like 20 lb mono. sometimes you can catch 4-5 at once. depending how many jigs you do. and its fun as heck the bonus is the catfish love em. gl out there.

Thanks so much for all of the insight! We’re going go back once the water warms up just a bit and the baitfish bite picks up. We’ll give this a try!
