This is the result of reckless and irresponsible workers at the VRA. They need to be sued for all the damages and human suffering including lost of revenue.
Thanks Enyonam. This is a very serious and sad event. I just started my fish farming this year on the river at Akuamufie and lost all my fingerlings. I stocked initially 21 000 fingerlings and 2 months ago I stocked another 55 000 fingerlings with 16 cages on the Akonsombo river. Sadly I lost everything except 2 cages in which the mortality is even so high that I don't even think there is even 1000 left. But, the sad part is the dilemma I am having with the amazing workers that I have on the farm. Great team that I have, but there is nothing there anymore and they depend on me for their salary. What to tell them!! No more job!! It is part of the entrepreneurship risk. We will not give up. We will go through it, learn and get and keep moving.
@@lix768That's true, but it has it's own disadvantage as well. The river gave the natural habitat for the tilapia and it really allow to produce in a very large scale as we were planning to do. Anyway I got your point. Thanks
Now, lets see if Nana Addo and his Bawumia team will rescue the farmers. These fish farmers are contributing immensely to the economic activities of the enclave. They are in a dire Situation and must be helped ASAP.
Not being insensitive or stand to be corrected to their plight but they were warned since June couldn’t you move your fish cages elsewhere. I hope the govt compensates them.
This is very very sad news. Nobody performed any risk analysis? Nobody realised they don't control anything related to the dam? What can be learnt from this adverse event?
So sad sorry for their losses, A good government must step in to assist investors

VRA INFORMED THE FISH FARMERS TOO LATE.MOST OF THEM COULD NOT RELOCATE ON TIME.
Ghana before you do anything risk assessment should be carried out

Why do we always quote in dollars and we don't live in the US.
