The earwigs are ruining a percentage of my sweet peppers again this year, just as they're starting to really get going, it's so frustrating! They're so good at hiding I only see a hoard of them when I disturb the soil they're under for whatever reason. Yesterday I took out all of the black raspberry floricanes to fertilize and mulch to encourage primocane growth as I do every year after the fruiting cycle ends, but this year I noticed A LOT of earwigs & pill bugs in the mulch.
My neighbors were telling me they've heard earwigs are a big problem all over Michigan and Ohio this year. I wish I'd had my camera going when they came pouring out of that green onion. It was gross but also satisfying to snip them. 😂 That is very discouraging that they're getting to your peppers AGAIN. And you've touched on a good point, they're small and flat and can get into so much stuff without you even realizing they're there. They're seriously everywhere. I need some help with my Blackberry bush, maybe I'll send out a call for help! 😄🙋♀️ Thank you for visiting and sharing. We are never alone in our joys or struggles! Good luck!
