Is it customary to not build out a town/port/nondungeon with miniatures? I think the answer is yes mostly due to townsfolk population, but wanted to get a sense from more experienced players. How do you deal with shapeshifting (like polymorph or wildshape) where the GM does not have a 1-to-1 miniature for that? Do you just use the same token and pretend? Swap in whatever would be closest? A piece of paper possibly with a doodle? Something else? Amazing DM screen. Reminds me that I must start writing down more notes in the moment as my memory is less than immaculate half an hour later. Thank you for the tour!
@angelojohnson9441 Good Question. Would you like us to do an episode on this? Or, Answer it here? We will be happy to answer that for you Thanks about eh screen. I know about the memory. I used to know all the books inside and out and exactly were to find stuff, and all the rules. Now, I cannot. Age? Life? My RL job I feel like a neuro Surgeon that every day the job and what I have to do and remember changes, so it is impossible to keep up with it. So what I remember is what is most important. Job, or Fun? I do as much as I can for fun, but the job is what allows me to have fun.
For me, if the town is the adventure, flesh it out as needed. Otherwise, it's just for resources and recovery and maybe some exposition to side quests or main story elements. it's too easy to get hung up on trying to display everything on the table. Use narration and if you need positional info, I've used everything from bottlecaps to colorful glass beads.

@TwinSteel Thanks for the Emojis
It's really sad about Howard. What a tragic life. I wonder about the great stories we would have received if he lived to a good old age.
Agree - The stuff others wrote, are just not the same. While some are good, they still di not match Howard's works
