It's Barbara Mandrell. She was the Queen of Country Music from 1978 - 1984, when she was in a serious car accident. She returned to music in 1986 and retired in 1997. She has won a slew of awards, including seven American Music Awards!! She was a co-host in 1988. I love her b/c her sound was more pop country...like today's Carrie Underwood. She could also be classic country too, and she played 11 instruments and danced on her own variety series on NBC in the early 80s. Hope this helps.
Why didn't they put the whole show up. I wanna see Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, Milli Vanilli, Clint Black, Randy Travis, Reba, Alabama, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, The OJays, Janet Jackson, Guns n Roses, Skid Row, MC Hammer, Young M.C., Prince, and Neil Diamond win as well.
Who's "they"? I'm not the AMAs. I'm a random no one with an old VHS tape, and I did this 9 years ago when UA-cam didn't allow videos over 15 minutes. Plus this is an NKOTB channel.
Weird, why do you suppose they did that? Beyond not caring obviously. They show Paula Abdul and say it for Forever your Girl, shows/plays Cold Hearted Snake Video, NKOTB says its for Hangin' Tough shows/plays Cover Girl. I think the AMA's sound and video departments didn't care just threw stuff together. Its clear no one bothered to care and check to be sure what the nomination is for and video are actually the same. If the internet had existed then their site would have been slammed with negative comments on the sloppiness. I suppose we should be happy they even got the video they did air to the correct artist at least. Imagine if BSB had been around at the same time, it might have freaked the idiots that were paid to create that at the time out trying to remember if the video their airing was NKOTB or BSB.
@Madison Kimura - it’s not weird l. The category is for album, not single. So it would be totally appropriate for them to play any song from the “Hangin’ Tough” album, like”Cover Girl”, or any song from the “Forever Your Girl” album, like “Cold Hearted”. It’s an album award, not a singles award. Any song from the album played, to represent, work from the album, is 100% appropriate.
