- In this video I test the new JingZhe Nerf pistol, also called The Awaken. It's a 3D printed, break action, single-shot blaster that can either take shells and is shell ejecting, or can take darts directly.

Been keeping my eye on this thing, but not sure if I can justify spending the same amount I did for my Seagull. Ideally, having 2 of these would make for amazing duelling pistols.
Duelling Nerf pistols would be a hilarious way to settle disputes on the field!
You can buy a Nerf Rival Pilot, add worker 16kg spring and a small printed piece that allows short dart and you get the same fps but with 40$

you are right about shells, i love em cause of the fun feeling of having them ping out with each shot!
really fun.
But I can think of one other usecase. When you attend a 2 to 3 day nerf event and have to keep your gear loaded at all times, the shell fed blaster protects the darts while over like 30 hours of compression the non shell fed gets messed up and starts screwing up your shots.
but thats pretty rare. otherwise its just for the fun!

As someone who only plinks at targets and has never played a game against other people:
I rarely use my other blasters since getting the kirin. Ive also gotten really good at catching the shells out of the air which is fun :p I got the shell ejection delete for it too just in case but im probably never going to use it.
Also, call me crazy, but I actually enjoy the act of putting darts in a shell and then in a magazine.
Also, also, darts get fucked up if I accidentaly leave em loaded in a magazine for too long but thats no issue with shells.
I get that in a game, "in the heat of things", those dont outweigh the negatives but still :)
I love mine. Love the custom colors you can choose from.
One other upside of shells is that darts don’t get squished in mags
True, though you can't fit as many darts in a shell mag. I wonder whether just not fully loading your standard mags would avoid the dart squish you're talking about.

Yeah it's definitely not for everyone, personally I wouldn't use this outside of for fun or for a video like this.
For some nerf clubs like Sydney nerf this would actually satisfy their pistol requirements which don’t allow mag fed blasters to be classified as pistols.
True, do you start the day with a pistols only round for a warm up or something?
@@BradleyPhillipsYT no idea as I haven’t yet had a chance to play with them. I just know their rules I do know they play pistol only only rounds but not sure how often.

I have played for years with a modified knockout, it’s surprising how effective it can be. Just need to learn to aim. And carry a back up with multiple shots, like a hammershot.

I'm not a fan of shell ejecting either. (And, to be fair, in the world of real steal, people have been trying to come up with caseless ammo for decades- the only point of a shell casing is to make a gas seal due to the casing expanding, at the cost of massively expanded complexity). I might consider getting one of these, but then I would, because I'm a revolver fan-boy anyway.

My favorite shell ejecting one is the spring thunder. Really good shotgun and it allows you to use just about any nerf dart/projectile.
Love the design. If the files were available, I'd buy a hardware kit and print the pieces in PETG. But I won't pay for PLA prints by someone else.
Any idea what kind of spring can be used to reduce FPS? And what kind of spring are they using?
Got mine last week, did you do any sort of tuning with this? mine with brand new worker bamboos is hitting around 140 to 150 fps and very inconsistent. Ive had it as low as 120s and as high as 180s, frustrating when you want to use it as a sniper pistol but sometimes you fall way short
I used it as it came. Suggest adjusting the seal using the screw inside.
FIXED sorry for anyone thats been worried about the fips on this blaster since i posted mine being a bit low i have found if loading darts without the shells you push the darts in a bit rather than sitting flush im now hitting between 150 and 160 fps consistently which is whats claimed by the make and again its dead accurate which is amazing from a pistol!
anyone got any recommendations for places to get a gel blaster rifle around 300fps in the uk?
this bcar is about the same size as the one on the qwk challenger mk3, which works very well for 200&under performace

Most people use a weapon called a glass jar and capture the spider to take it outside and release in the garden, where the majority are eaten by birds or other predators.

I love everything about this blaster EXCEPT the fact that its 3d printed.. which sadly, is a deal breaker for me.
No respect for shells. You can't load darts just by feel because they're soft and deform easily, and a deformed dart increases the chance of a jam or decreased performance. Shells let you just slam them home by feel without taking your eyes off the field.
You can 100% load darts by feel. They have a rubber tip one end and none the other.
