I played with JP voice acting, and it's neat how the line at 10:01 catches in both the EN & JP voice actresses' throats to sell how Dorothea almost breaks down at that point

In the C and B ranks, Dorothea's dialogue in her supports with Byleth is actually different depending on gender.
Ex: In C, as opposed to telling Male Byleth he wouldn't understand the importance of finding a partner while you're still young, she encourages Female Byleth to do it and calls her gorgeous.
Years later and I still find it funny that Byleth literally says her hearts isn't beating, and it isn't, but it's just waved away.
Especially because her "I don't know how you did it, Professor" line implies that you demonstrated your lack of heartbeat...and she dismissed it entirely because it's fucking ridiculous.
She makes my little sapphic heart so happy
Byleth and Dorothea _literally_ become their world's equivalent of Sappho, too... I thought that was a nice touch.

I like how they never draw serious enough attention to the gender aspect of things. They focus only on the character aspects on what they feel. If anything the gender stuff is more subtle but not the focus, which is why this works so well.
OTOH the ending screen in this video has the happy couple _literally_ become the Sappho of their fictional world

Apparently the lines are different between m & f byleth. Not too different but another comment used the example of Dorothea telling m byleth he couldn't understand something as a man but encouraged f byleth when it came to the same subject.

It's easy to miss in her early game, but she flirts outrageously with female Byleth when they meet each other for the first time.
During the B-Support the Professor drops a big secret about her not having a heartbeat but Dorothea doesn't believe her.

You should interpretate more carefully, it is clearly hinted that they've spent a whole lifetime together (privately) before dying, probably of old age.
@@zaikohaitsugi, yeah but he/she refers that Byleth having blood of the goddess and her crest stone, being very close to Sothis almost like a daughter like Seiros/Rhea, Seteth, or the rest of the saints she should be inmortal (unable to die naturally as per age) or at least she should live many more years than a normal human being.
In the Black Eagles route (Edelgard route) she loses the crest stone of the progenitor God so she would die with the age of a normal human being (at least that the blood Rhea gave Jeralt still worked and has passed into Byleth's body) without losing the crest that is in her blood so she could use the Sword of the Creator but without all of its power because she hasn't anymore the Crest Stone of the goddess but in the other routes she conserve it so she should live a lot more than a normal human

@@A-Wa or as Byleth sees "both side of time" s/he can just choose how long they live. Supported that I believe it's said they stay with unaging Seteth and normal humans.
@@A-Wa, maybe she can choose when she want to die or maybe she isn't immortal because originally she is a “normal” human and maybe she would die naturally unless one of the children of the goddes gave her their blood, I don't know and I think we will never know
