I'm from Kirkby in Ashfield so I remember the old red and cream livery in the 90's. I still miss the Optare buses, I remember those on the rainbow 3 services.
They went bust as you put it ( making a loss i prefer to say same as us ) thanks to thatchers legisey , , Felix was a company that did a service and bothered no one, Sadly they were taken over by trent like BartoN , it should never have happened, We used to do repairs for Felix in our workshops and they were in the same colours as us sadly they met the same fate as us , , ,At least trent made me redundant ,, Bill Redfern of the real BartoN Transport Ltd,
I HATE to see the logo ,,trent Barton,, it offends me I worked at the Real ,,BartoN Transport Ltd, until the take over , I have some good memory's and my uniform (but not my overalls I worn them out long ago) and a few bits and pieces to remember it by thankfully many of the vehicles do survive through Bartons and enthusiasts vehicles that I have both repaired and driven in the past ,, Bus enthusiasts could only dream of working at such a place but it was not everyone's cup of tea ,,
the FELIX cat was copyrighted AND SO HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BUSES, TRENT BARTON re branded its routes which i thought was daft because the rainbow branding matched its colour logo, they claimed People referred RAINBOW 5 buses as INDIGO something I never heard at all! think it was more the case to try and stop seeming too dominant on areas and operated each as seperate branding

Do you have permission to use these photos ?
The old rainbow 1 buses are now used for Zoom and other routes
All these photos are stolen 😂😂

I remember when all rainbows exept for rainbow 1 were given a different name.I wonder why rainbow 1 kept its name
ALL THESE TRENDY COLOURS look cheap and Nastie to me, No one could beat the old genuine BartoN livery,
WISH THEY WOULD NOT USE THE NAME BartoN It is NOT the REAL BartoN Transport Ltd that I worked there from 1961 until the end,,
