Will be performing this in the next few months, spent hours looking for a recording that had such “edge” and list in the second phrase of the 2nd movement excerpt. It really captures the ambience of the work, bravo.
Almost 25 years ago, I had the honor of being the first oboist in this piece. To this day, it is one of my favorite symphonies. Those effortless fluter uns should be an honorary mention here.
@@malterefardtbassoon It must be hard to not only characterize the music but the breath control as well. I play double bass so I don’t have the firsthand experience but bassoon must be very hard. Definitely worth the effort though.
So evocative, haunting. Thank you. It refreshes my soul in these dumbed down days to remenber the magnificent things we as a species are actually capable of
@@malterefardtbassoon I'm just preparing this (and all the other usual stuff!) for an audition in Finland. So much practice to do, but listening to your interpretations was very useful and inspiring. Thanks for this!
@@michaelford8986 that sounds great! I am glad I could inspire you - and then it's you on stage to inspire with your own imagination and colors, to reach people's hearts! go for it!
OMG! These bassoon solos are so freakin' amazing! Anyone who says otherwise, I'll have to fight you.
haha thank you *thumbsup*

the feeling you've placed into the solo is just fantastic
thank you :) that's what bassoon is all about :)
I play the bassoon and I am using this to help me
@@sanudhi_a great! keep on practising and you will sound amazing, too

The nostalgic sound of his bassoon is wonderful and outclassing
I love how he expresses through this piece ❤
What a beautiful medley. Who can play this passage like he.
Bravo! Can't get enough of it! 💛
Thanks so much! Best regards

Music is what moves our hearts!
Wonderful.

M pleasure! Thank you 🙏 best regards
Wow! Stephen King & Emma Watson playing the basson!! What an experience!!🤣😂
bravo!
this guy is a god
Hahahaha your profile picture
ling ling hahah your nick name
Maravilhoso
It helps that he has great hair...
I'd love to hear this in full. Do you happen to know where I can listen to it?
Sounds like the beginning of seventh element
I legit think Vitas (that was classically trained for a while) used this motif in the 7th element
What you say when you play single tongue?
It depends on. Ta-Ka (middle register), ti-ki (high register), to-ko (low register). Find out, what fits best to yourself! best regards
А есть полная запись с концерта?
As far as I know - not anymore available. Sorry
This bassoonist has got game. No doubt.
Game? thank you!

Is he playing on a Bell bassoon?
no, it's a Heckel 15000
@@malterefardtbassoon very good

@@leoh23 :) but it's not :)
He is playing his life and the second basson next to him is a little bit disappointed I think. Great Solos
totally not - just concentrated :)
Primer comentario perras!
The other bassoonist is looking like “fuck you for taking the solo”
I don't think so. Everybody was very concentrated because of the TV concert. My colleagues and I have a very friendly relationship!
@@malterefardtbassoon She was probably just glad that it wasn't her having to play that on TV! Well done Sir. Great performance!

No przyzwoicie :)
Sieht 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴eher aus wie Hochleistungssport
ist ja durchaus aus vergleichbar!
Frank Gallagher
yea he may be good but all of the moving makes it hard to play and is just flashy
He doesn't seem to be struggling while playing. ;) A completely still bassoonist is boring anyways.
i think all too fast and energic, not bad but there are many better exemples, its all solos are recitative and expression more than etude))
