- I finally got around to presenting the major Northern Virginia highway that runs through Reston's high tech corridor, to Dulles Airport, and into Loudoun County's expanding suburbs. Lot's of history and a bit of controvery. Enjoy

I was taking a trip to Washington DC last year and did searches for roads in Virginia and found the one with a Bruce Hornsby song. When I got back home to MIssouri after traveling to VA, I told a friend about that song, I could not find it anywhere to download or purchase. Then one evening, I was on my way to Washburn Music Festival in Topeka, KS (an hour drive). He handed me the CD and there it was for me to play! He looked up your description, was live version of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ordered the CD. The joy of riding with that song on the open Kansas road, sun going down in the west, I have many more videos and songs to hear from you!

My uncle lives pretty close to Dulles international airport in Ashburn and another relative in Gainesville and another in Leesburg which all pretty close to the airport and that highway even though we never take that route we always take 15 into Virginia which is a pretty nice stretch of road actually take that back think we went on there on a school trip to Virginia beach/Norfolk Virginia runs into Richmond I think and the outer loop of dc bypass could be wrong though
Before the Dulles Toll Road was built, how did people get to Reston and Wolf Trap? Via Route 7?
Good Question. If I recall correctly, the old Dulles Airport Access Road had maybe two exits on it. One for Reston and one for Herndon. I might be wrong on this but that is what my memory is telling me. To get to Wolf Trap, one had to take 7 or Beulah Road from Vienna.

@@jmvfrva - Indeed; the only other entrance to Wolf Trap is from VA 7 - which is messy due to ongoing road reconstruction on VA 7 (from Tysons Corner to Reston). If you are going to Reston or further west, I therefore recommend the Toll Road - NOT VA 7. (The DTR has two interchanges in Reston itself - one with VA 286, and the other with VA 7.) The one with VA 286 serves Reston and what I call the "HCA Complex" - Reston Hospital Center/Surgery Center. (I don't hate on it - I had surgery there myself in August. As bad as HCA's rep used to be, they are at least on a par with either INOVA or MedStar - and I am speaking as a former patient in both hospital groups.)
