There's a few things you can do for oil/grease fires, here are the top two:
1. Smother it. You can put a lid/cookie sheet over it to cut off oxygen, you can dump salt on it, you can dump baking soda on it, there's some other things but those are some of the most common household items you can use to put it out (sand and dirt also work if you're outside)
2. Fire extinguisher. Just. Use a fire extinguisher suitable for oil fires.

fun fact about the taxidermy lion. It looks like that because the people that taxidermied it had never seen a lion before, so they based it on then current artwork of lions. If you compare it to some of that artwork it's actually pretty accurate. Especially compared to asian artwork of lions
I was drinking at a bar once with a taxidermy lion. You don't know how I sh#t myself (few drinks in) and saw the "lion" (real lion btw)
They literally had a dead lion in front of them to taxidermy how could they not have seen a lion before?

Also... it was the 1700s, they did not really have a good way to store a dead massive fucking cat until they arrived, or it was transported to them, so it was not likely in great condition

For George and everyone else who wants to listen, to put out a grease fire you need to smother it with a cloth so to stop it from getting oxygen or somthing like that
Or in the case of an industrial sized one, a fryer cover or some form of lid works just as well!

Remember George, during a grease fire it is best to NOT use water
If it's a small grease fire (frying pan or pot) cover it with a lid, fire cannot exist without air.
If it's huge, use a fire extinguisher!

A note to everyone whom it may concern. Never put water on a burning pot with cooking oil. The oil rises to the top of the water, bringing the fire with it. I'm pretty sure the best technique is to put a wet/damp towel over the pot or pan.
Or a lid, no O2 no combustion
Even if its late.. no, the oil doesn't rise to the top.. the water vaporates instandly and expanding its volume by 1700 times while spreading the burning oil all over the place.

The foot pedal is my favourite mechanism for dispensing water in a public sink. Much more reliable than the motion sensors, hands free operation, and impossible to accidentally leave running
