    This man put up the second highest HR total of his career and hit 100+ rbis and people are still saying he was a bad signing. Unbelievable. I expect to hear this from Sox fans, but it breaks my heart when Yankee fans say it. They clearly didn’t watch any games if they do. Sure he had a nasty slump early on, but he came back big time.
    100% worth the money we’re paying him.

      I’m a Yankee fan and I don’t know anybody that’s still complaining about him within the city. The fans love him. Can’t blame people outside the city associating him and Yankee fans with that slump where he put up a golden sombrero twice in one week.

      bryce rucks Dude i get what you mean but you can’t expect a almost 60hr every season. You’re gonna have breakthrough seasons and you’re gonna have not so good seasons. And still he hit 38 this year. He can easily hit 50+ but he won’t do it every year

    • @TheRiddick34
      @TheRiddick34 6 років тому +17

      @@vikman258 also the dude was with Florida/Miami for his whole career, so he had faced a lot of the pitchers in the NL a ton of times. I don't have the stats but I'm guessing about 85% of the pitchers he faced this year he faced for the very first time. Not too crazy to think that he might not have an MVP season in his first year moving to the AL.

    He did alright for his first year as a Yankees. Didn’t show up for the playoffs. If Stanton didn’t have no pressure, he would’ve hit 50-60 HRs.

    I can't help but think he would hit balls further if he opened his stance. I know from experience, I used to bat through minor and little League with an even stance and had moderate success. A few years later me and a few friends were playing a game in a bigger field. 320ft left and right and 350 center. On a whim I decided to open my stance almost like Jose Canseco. The difference in power and distance was staggering. I blasted a ball over the right field fence and way beyond. That's when I realized if only I would have done this year's ago I might have went much further in baseball. Of course an open stance is not for everyone but it worked in my case.

    If Staton comes back to the Yankees this year they should consider batting him 6th in the lineup. Notice most of his home runs shown here came off lefties or below average righties. He would have a hard time against guys like Verlander, Cole and even Grenkie who doesn't throw as hard but is a smart pitcher.
