Yes
Good idea!
@@berkekadircelik6282 Aha buldum
If he does that then hank can't move but as soon as hank sees him the totebot heads don't have an effect anymore to hank so it wouldn't work very well
Separate the parts vertically and leave a poll that goes from the top part to the bottom of the ocean, avoiding the lower part. Either on the sides or on the back.
This should deal with the workshop lag.
too good no tension on blocks can make 1 block thick
yeah I had a similar thought , scrapman can add pillars which encase the pillars of the top floors like a pipe in a pipe.
yeah or a thicc pillar in the center
Make a 9x9 hollow pillar that supports the lowest floor, 5x5 hollow pillar inside the 9x9 hollow pillar to support the second floor, and a 1x1 pillar all the way inside that goes all the way up to the highest floor.
Increase the thickness if needed and and just have all the pillars inside of each other and have a realistic pillars inside your rooms supporting the higher floors.
You can even hide it inside one of the walls if you feel like it.
@@Petq011 Or, if you don’t want to run up by the square each time, you could do a hollow wall that’s 5 thick. Then you only have a 1x1 running to each floor you want. E.g., n supports would fit in a hollow wall with dimensions 5 x (2n+3).
Breaks at the top of the walls between floors could be disguised with a staggered line (basically crown moulding).
Create internal pillars to disconnect the vertical aspects. You can build facades/ larger fake columns around them to make it look prettier.
Rebuild hidden creations just by looking at its connections

Try making a pillar within a pillar to separate the vertical part of the castle.

why would you need atv in creative mode?
Huh, a mobile home
Not bad, might be good idea

I love Scrapman's expressions whenever his plan works out perfectly
You should make a seperate garage area to hopefully reduce lag on main crafting area😁
You can separate the garage floor from the workshop floor... put holes around the yellow pillars and then have legs going to the ocean floor so it isn’t touching the garage floor. Idk if this makes sense to you but in my mind how I’m picturing it, it should work
Scrap man has become so lonely that he now is calling the hay bots. “People”

no it's easy
I have an Idea for vertical dividing- Just build a poles on the back of the castle, for each section of the castle one , and divide it. Each part will be levitating on that pole.
The castle can be separated from the center. The smaller tower at the top, disconnect the blocks around its a perimeter, and create a LONG column that goes through the bottom 2 floors beneath it and attach to the sea level ground beneath your base. This way it looks like support columuns in the center of your castle. You would need to make cut out Holes for the columns to penetrate thru each floor so its not touching the rest of the castle. This would disconnect AND look cool in the process. Like it you understand!!
Try disconnecting the areas with vehicles welded to them from the rest of the platform. Might help with FPS
redstone chest?
For the vertical detachment of workshop of the base to make less lag.
I suggest *putting 2 single block support arms on the back of your creation at right angle, down to the ground under the water. Then cut a horizontal line all around building.*
I suggest doing this either on the second floor above your Workshop or the roof of your Workshop.
Also you could *remove the four connecting pillars from the driveway to the bottom of your Workshop. By simply cutting, the driveway where the pillars meet, open a block wider than the pillars and have a single block pillar going down to the ground underneath the water. Either 1 or 2 supports or Each under all the 4 pillars so that way the workshop is not connected to the driveway underneath.* but the pillars still add to aesthetic value.
what you could do to decrease the lag on the back section is that you could separate the platform from the pillars holding the castle, connect the pillars to the seafloor and that's it
I have an AWESOME idea for Multiplayer Monday- you remeber a loooooong time ago when you made the toilet and barrel race? Make a sawblade-toilet only race, and design a new cool map for it.
for the workshop part of your base, you could support an upper floor and walls with a single post that either runs down through the lower parts of the build, and make sure that post is only connected to the "game-generated" ground, OR you could build a support that goes from an outside wall around everything below it, and into the sea bed. You would still have two large builds, but they would be separated at, say, the edge where the floor meets the wall or the wall meets the ceiling.
His slideshow looks like a perfect game on my computer ;)
You can reduce lag in the main building by separating it from the wooden walkway, just build another column down in the back.
Scrapman: hmm what can we do about this (in the workshop talking about the lag)
Also Scrapman: staring at animated machines that dont change gameplay
"Let's just stop saying things that don't make sense, AND JUST DO IT!" -Scrapman 2020 (aka best quote i have heard all year)
To fix the lag on the castle part, you can do something like putting each story or group of stories on its own supports and separate them, and you can just put the supports on the back. The front might look a bit weird with the spaces in it, but you wont lag as much.
This was an awesome episode I really enjoyed the base building keep up the good work
For the vertical separation of the base, you need to separate every floor of the tower. Then, in a 3x3 area, surround the outside eight blocks with something like pipes. Then, use the hole in the middle to build a pillar down to the ground. That way nothing should be connected and is very simple. There is going to be a 1 block gap in between each floor though.
If you want to hide the seperation between your buildings, you could add a bearing to one side of the gap and hook it up to a controller, so that it doesn't move. Then you can attach blocks to that bearing and they will stay seperate from the other building, even if the blocks are touching each other.
5:58 watching this episode with my brother on the tv in the livingroom... the look on our faces went so flat... this is the moment of pure sadness
Also i was like: scrapman needs sensors and pistons. I was correct. How did i guess it! I did not know what scrapman is gonna do originally!
Scrapman - tries to explains very complex bridge buttons and many colored lines "understand?"
Me - ....Suuuuuurreee??
Scrapmsn - "Alright, ON WITH THE 20 MINUTE VIDEO!"
All you need to do for the big base is place legs off the back down to the ground. Then cut each floor level off from the next level
Doing this will give you alot more frames I do this in my game
My base is actually separated as different buildings and platforms & i use a pump, excess seeds (there pretty much always are excess seeds) and a button to do wireless communication over long distances, cheaper then doing the same with spuds, and much longer range then doing the thing with pistons and sensors :)
Extend the bridges out, to hit the land rather than the Water to help eliminate that lag! BOOM next problem
love the Survival series Scrapman!
You could seperate the Workshop from the area below by seperating the pillars from the dock. you just have to make holes into your dock where the pillars can go through without making contact to the dock. For example.
@ScrapMan With the lag you have with the main castle, maybe it's due to the vehicles on the bottom floor and all the machines on the second floor. You have pillars holding up your castle. It shouldn't be to difficult to have separate pillars holding up the castle from pillars holding up the bottom floor. That might improve performance.

SM, you can separate your base (the vertical part) like a cake, cutting it into slices. Then, you can put a pole at the corners of the slices going to the ocean. Alternatively, these poles could go out away from the base then down to the ocean.

Instead of having the draw bridge communicate with the farm which communicates with the other draw bridge, you can have the draw bridges connect directly to each other by using a switch/button connected to a mountable spud gun, which shoots a spud at a switch on the other draw bridge.
For the castle or workshop part you could put some pillars inside that only connects to the upper part. Also, i belive if the corners of the blocks touch it is still a different object, so you also can hide the seem.
The thing he just did using sensors and piston is literally isolation similar to power electronic designs
Do you mean optoelectric copuling? Yes it Is similar.
If you need to hook up more switches like 8 or 16, across the entire palace, you could build an encoder and decoder. That could be one way to reduce resource usage.
for separations on the castle maybe pillars going through the base without it touching the bottom bit at, kinda like a needle and thread.
This is Genius (tho i used to use it in the old scrap mechanic before survival)
Remember the robot thing you can't figure out how to start the campfire remember the sawding you got to pick up the Stick and rub it right against the fire
You could do that with potato guns as well. You just put some strategic switches that will be automatically shot from a mounted spud gun on the other building. One more thing you should do is make a separate platform in the water were you weld your vehicles when you're not using them. I've seen you try something like this, but not go through with it to the end. There's a lot of proof of concept on youtube, check it out. If you use all these tricks, you can keep on expanding your semi-floating Scrap mahal.
That was cool! Great video!
Just wanted to mention that while the player character can comfortably travel through a 3x6 doorway that none of the bots can. Use this to your advantage.
Make a suport beam through the castle and have it connect to the upper part but not the lower part. Also if you make it hollow and big enough you can have another smaller support running through it to hold the third floor.
Maybe Hank keeps wandering off because he misses the songs of his people? The totebot sounders that didn't really stop raids might calm Hank while he soaks his hot bearings in his pool after a hard day of milk collecting.
love the tech side of things.
Both of scrap mans sound machine break: BAH it’s fine! I’ll just fix I with their disembodied heads!
You should build some stairs to get out of water more easily
No, the height was chosen on purpose. Totebots cannot attack the base floor where it is. Adding stairs would also allow the bots to enter his base.
Use bearing to hide the gap bettween the diffrent part of your base
Sorry for my bad english (Im french)
For the main castle, extend the supports (that currently sit on the deck, all the way down, then separate the supports from the deck
I think you should separate the workshop tower thing from the vehicle platform by extending the support poles to the bottom of the sea and then removing the blocks under the poles. Just a suggestion, but like if you agree so Scrapman can see.
You should make a sensor that detects a plate of a certain color (such as light grey) that lowers the bridge for ~15-20 seconds. This way, the bridges stay up at all times, and they come down automatically when you leave/come back.
Hmm interesting... So before i talked about cutting up the rear i meant separating the parking deck from the the castle section.
Just making it it's own section to deal with the possible vehicle collision lag and help with the workshop. Keep the pillars attached and maybe cut around them.
I was hoping for a spud or seed based wireless network, but I guess this works.
My first base (in the mechanic station) was 30-ish blocks from my farm (under the canopy), so I used a seed shooter to activate the farm defenses.
For the big tower cut it from side to side and have a poll going down the tower to the land
Cut the top off, by that I mean don't cut it off but put a big column down the center, all the way through to the ground, then hide the cut gap with basically a lip. So it'll basically look like it's suppose to be there and look like realistic support.
On the vertical buildings u could do like, some poles going trought the build to the ground, without touching each other.
I think u can make it look nice
You could separate your farm from everything around it, and rewire things so you don’t have a million connections crossing over your base so it’s easier to remember how things work
L
@scrapman you know since it is a glitch it is probably going to get patched up at one point, a better way to do that is by using pistons and sensors sensors either to detect blocks or colors and pistons that would move those blocks in and out of the way.
Dissconect upper workshop from the bottom garage / U-shaped drive way
love the way that scrapman total forgot about a switch on both side
I've gotta remember... don't even finish that sentence, we all know that scrapman is going to forget it.
Hi scrap man I have an idea for Hank's house that u can build a draw bridge for him BTW hank merch is cool
YOU SHOULD DO A MULTIPLAYER RACING DRONE RACE! Like, you could go through hoops and dodge moving things and pillars.
If you have frames, you can maybe built a raid alarm with tope heads. You can use timers and program them so when it goes 23:00 they start to ring. I wish you like this comment. 😎
5:59 be like : WELD-TOOL I CHOOSE YOU!

~ : The emptiness in between the three pillars making it so that they are 3 different structures reducing the lag, while also hiding each other as to not ruin the aesthetics of the build.

@scrapman make a really simple disconnected garage behind you U-shaped platform for all your vehicle's so it's a simple creation instead of the whole U-shaped platform you have.
Wire the lights to switches, turn it on when you need it, turn it off when not needed. Maybe it'll reduce the lag.
You can separate the parking lot and the base from each other by placing the base on your own feet and the parking lot with vehicles will be separate
