I had a friend who really liked oblivion and his favorite race was bosmer. He 100% the game, playing thief build, without efficient lvling and other meta optimalizations, just naturally playing the game. No idea how he did it though.
Feels weird because my first playthrough was a Bosmer and I made them overpowered lol. I did all quests and dlc. Other than that, I love seeing spreedsheets like this
I'm 8 minutes into this video and I keep looking at the title and waiting for an explanation. Yeah, Bosmer have lower stats and there are better races to choose, stat-wise. But their lower stats do not keep them from being viable...... A stat screen will only take you so far, people have used terrible stats to beat games before. Take the Rusty Equipment challenge, you aren't meant to keep using rusty armor and weapons for the entire game, but people, including myself, have. On paper, people using these suboptimal or detrimental builds will easily get wrecked, but the game isn't played on paper. You have tactics that can turn the fight towards your side. If you time your steps in and out, you can keep an NPC in one spot, relatively. This way, when they swing, you can step back and they will miss, then you step back in and attack. Using tactics like these can help you overcome stat disadvantages. Although, with 100 speed, this becomes more difficult and I recommend training some skills to compensate, otherwise you might pull an Elden Ring and throw yourself into your opponent until you get lucky and win, but it can be done, regardless. In summery. Yes, you can beat Oblivion as a Bosmer or Woodelf.
I tried beating Oblivion as a bosmer, but Todd Howard himself broke into my home and threatened me with violence before deleting my save-games. So I could not beat Oblivion as a bosmer.

Killing Umbra at a low level is really quite easy if you buy the Apotheosis staff from RIndir in the Imperial City. And you can do that fresh out of the prison if you don't mind duplicating a whole bunch of items and selling them. Of course the method of obtaining Apotheosis isn't too important. What's important is that you can use that staff to kill Umbra at the very beginning of the game. Then you get to start the game with a powerful sword. I do this all the time.
Havent fully watched yet, but i know in Skyrim, there is a damage buff/nerf depending on the height of your character. Wonder if that applies to oblivion and if you go over that if so.
Just dumpstered Gaenor with my own bosmer male a few days ago. It seems like bosmer in morrowind move even slower than in Oblivion, but Gaenor cheats and zooms around like a cockroach.
Idk man, Resist disease can actually be pretty good. If you don’t have means of curing disease like restoration spell that can specifically deal with that or a cure disease potion. Some diseases in oblivion are just plain annoying. I wouldn’t say they are the end of the world, maybe PH (vampirism) or I think there was one that had a silence effect on it or some damage your stats pretty bad (attributes other than personality would be one I would worry about IMO) but yeah otherwise they aren’t too bad and you could probably get them healed in the temple. (Unless the temple hates you for unknown reasons or everyone in there is dead or you have guards chasing you for no reason.
Don't smaller characters have smaller hitboxes? I don't know, this is an actual question to you. Bows having less DPS than swords does not make them inferior. Ability to deal damage outside enemies' swing range and detection range is invaluable, as well as no risk of getting staggered because you hit a shield.

I talk trash, but deep down I love our short kings. Glarthir was innocent.
@theoldknight85 I heard he published album that would suggest otherwise.
I always played Bosmer in every TES game, never had a problem. I don't think meta is *that* useful in these games.
never play a short king, just like real life

Bosmer is fave. Green pact goes brrrr
I smoked umbra as female nord with min maxed stats , but yeah wood elfs are kinda joke without the cheese strats
title is click bait.
reported.
killing umbra at lvl 1 is easy. That is if you minmax and make a character that never levels to get rid of the level scaling of the world.
Umbra isnt levelled, though her armor is. I think it doesnt make that much difference, could be wrong tho

Just power level your alchemy and use poisons
I never played this game. Good video though, I liked it.
How does any of this result in the game being unbeatable as a bosmer?

Umbra is the sword its not the npc.. Umbra is the weapon think soulcalibur...aka souledge.
