looks nice, and with trying and doing things there is always a learning curve, you should see how often I get a blank for a pen that dont drill exactly even makes it risky and a nightmare trying to turn on the lathe, or things I have to retouch due to accidents
well jess practice does make perfect, if the bandsaw is not working there are other ways to cut the crosses out though I am not sure which one will be the easiest to use or have best effect notchers work well with sheet metal, but not sure if the copper is too soft to chop off with one or one I suppose could use a chisel to cut stuff with but that takes longer yet, a torch problably would not work as an oxy torch uses oxidation to cut the metal and copper well dont work in that way, but for somethings practice makes perfect.
@@ChristCenteredIronworks It's easy to use a dremel, it comes in handy a lot of the times I've used it. Add in a flex shaft and hold it like a pen for even smaller item's. I have cut 1\4 thick glass with a carbide cutter! For drilling I would use carbide drill bits, you just have to keep the drill bit straight, or it will break! Look to eBay for the drill bits, for big cost savings.
Those are really nice. I am curious would you make any in like a high polished brass without the opening marks. If so do you have any idea what they would cost? If you don'thaveextra brass around how about copper the same way as I discussed above. Great work.
Hi Rick, I am afraid I don't quite follow on "without the opening". If it is a bit differently shaped, you could send me a sketch. Brass could be a possibility, similarly priced (I listed these at $35), I will have to check with Roy if he has brass. Wow, I wouldn't have used that saw. I think I would've used a jeweller saw or my trusted hand saw. Bad experience with spinning things 🤣 Some day I have to face it. Nice work there. I like them very much. Nice pattern.
Well done Jessica. Nice to see you making jewely again Actually I will make one for my partner too now I've watched your video Oh by the way that would make a great giveaway on your live stream, if you do that I will try to win hehehe
Hi Stan, the copper being so small and in such a short section, it heated quickly. I am not sure if I could have gotten away with not wearing gloves. A good safety reminder though :)
My Beautiful daughter, Jessica ----- beautiful work! Soothing music also! Thanks for posting!
Thank you Mom. Glad you liked it. Have an awesome day! -Jess
i am happy to Jess back in the workshop =) I enjoy a little coppersmithing on the side!
I like working with copper. Don't have to rush while the piece turns from red to black, as with steel. Only have to anneal it occasionally. -Jess
@@ChristCenteredIronworks it is nice!!! and the colors one can get from torching it or acid patina are limitless!!!
Awesome job Jess, Roy better watch out or you will be taking over the entire shop. You go girl
You go girl. Awesome job Jess.
Great job, Jess. Nice music to go with your video, too!

Great video Jess! you used two of my favorite tools, the Beverly shear and Whitney punch...indispensable.
Very nice Jess
They look good Jess!
Love your work
Thank you
Nice work Jessica 👍⚒️. I think it would be cool, doing a Celtic style cross. You definitely have the right Whitney punch, to pull it off. 👍😀⚒️❤️
I will give that idea some thought. Happy Friday!
Nice Anvil.
WOW GURL..
CRAZY TOOLS
Good job I liked those
Thank you!

Nothing replaces hands on experience, huh? I need to use the band saw more.

Jess, I have that same punch. A small tube/pipe over the handle gives you more leverage and less of that sudden "pop"
Cool! Thanks for the tip :)
They came out great! Love the video
Nice job, Jess. You may want to try a Dremel for smaller things, they have a bunch of bits\cutters for it.👍
I've thought about getting one. Never used one though.

@@ChristCenteredIronworks I was referring to the peening marks from the hammer. Auto correct changed it to opening.

Normally I don't go the power tools option either. I prefer the slower, and safer way normally. -Jessica
What type of brass are you using?
Those are cool Jessica. Nice job. That punch is a handy tool. I need one of those 🔨On!!
First great video
Where did you get the band saw?
Are those brass tongs?
Copper actually. Roy has a video on forging them on our channel.
@@ChristCenteredIronworks awesome thanks love your work as well
Anyone else hear "God Blessed the Broken Road" Rascal Flats in the first instrumental?
Well done Jessica. Nice to see you making jewely again Actually I will make one for my partner too now I've watched your video Oh by the way that would make a great giveaway on your live stream, if you do that I will try to win hehehe
💯👍👍
Please be careful, Jess. I've seen the outcome of wearing gloves gone wrong on a band saw. I personally prefer having a thumb on BOTH hands.

I'll look into sending some vice grips, pliers, or lockjaw tongs. Opposing thumbs are hard to do without.
Second!
Who else saw the notification and thought it said forging with Jesus?
LOL, only missing one letter :)
Christ Centered Ironworks maybe it is just me being dyslexic🤷🏻♂️. Great video as always! Keep up the amazing work and God bless!
