The weight cutting starts days before the weight in. Most fighters cut most of it the day before then they go to sleep dehydrated and cut the last of it in the morning.
I think Oliveira likes to cut everything the day before and just wake up to weight in.

Charles is the only MMA fighter, having watched MMA since 2013, whom I wanted to win even when I picked Arman to win.
My sole reason for picking the upstart 27 year-old Arman is simply that Charles simply gives away too many freebies in his fights... by NEVER using much tactics beyond biting down on his mouthpiece and marching toward every and all opponents like they're all interchangeable, like he must win or the world's ending in the next few moments.
If Charles fights with tactics and patience, I don't think anyone at 155, including Islam, could win.... as none of them has more elite MMA experience and more elite MMA skills than Charles...
Charles also has the optimal body structure and dimensions --- strength, height, reach, agility, etc --- to make it extremely difficult for people who are either too short (elite wrestlers without range) or either too tall/lanky (pure strikers without elite wrestler) to deal with...
But most of all, Charles also is one of the rare true ambassadors of the sport of MMA; he is among the Top 5 or so most respectful athletes who really takes the sport of MMA as a professional line of work, where you don't have to make a complete ass out of yourself, by insulting either fans or other fighters, or both, every time you're in front of the camera.
Every interview he's in, everywhere he goes, Charles comport himself as an athlete and a decent human being who believes in upholding minimal attitude and behavioral standards, even among other men & women who try to act and talk like angry 4 year-old boys and girls...
Again, while I picked Arman to win, simply because Charles makes too many UNFORCED ERRORS, I hope he wins, so he could take another shot at Islam, as I consider the two to be the two most gifted, most well rounded MMA fighters in all the UFC's long history of producing many elite, specialized fighters...
Edit: I also picked Islam to beat Charles FOR THE SAME REASON I am now picking Arman to win: Charles makes too many unforced errors, in the majority of his fights, even in the ones he won. It has nothing to do with some lacking in elite skills or experience on Charles part, that I picked some of his opponents to win...
In UFC 300, if Charles makes no major unforced errors, despite my picking Arman, I EXPECT CHARLES TO WIN....

To your point, Charles fought with tactics and patience against Dariush. The only mistake he can do in this fight is pull guard which he hasn't done since the Islam fight. Charles is arguably the better striker and his defense in the Dariush fight looked much improved. Arman will keep shooting for takedowns because that's what he did against taller opponents (Damir who is 5'10 and Alvarez who is 6'3) so I expect him to do the same against Do Bronxs. If Charles keeps this on the feet, I give him the advantage. If he ends up on the bottom, this is 50/50 between Charles BJJ game off his back or Arman's wrestling from the top. I look forward to this fight the most.
