Dude, it's so satisfying to play the game and knowing it is at good hands and will get better and better. A huge thank you to the dev team. You guys are amazing.
Lazer already is "completed" or at least it won't ever be more complete than it already is. The goal was to build a platform thats easier to maintain and extend by rewriting the original osu from scratch with it's own framework and they already achieved that. There will always be continuous updates, but it's already a complete package and feature parity with stable is also already 99% there, while at the same time offering many more features.
I appreciate the small details like giving the option to change the renderer directly instead of hiding what it does behind an option like "compatibility mode".
This has to be a contender for best lazer update to date! Although my mid-range laptop was already pretty good at running the game, there's a very noticeable performance improvement, thanks a lot!
Hey Peppy in the renderer selection screen you should add a little "Benchmark" button that shows some gameplay and the Overall FPS at the end so people can have and Idea about which renderer works best in their devices without having to manually check by playing and checking the FPS at the same time.
I was *just* playing lazer on mobile after accessing it on TestFlight. So glad mobile got a lot of attention this update, especially in terms of performance!
Been enjoying lazer, the average hit error was really helpful when I was trying to go back into playing mania again. But I have this problem with the skin editor, it resizes the icons whenever the screen adjusts to gameplay "mode". This happens when I adjust things from the editor (square-esque aspect ratio) and then when I apply the changes and try it in game (full screen), every icon goes bigger or something, it really disrupts the setup I did from the layout editor. Since the UI have this spreading animation.
i started playing laser because the other version i found to be way to laggy to be playable when it came to my old computer and so the news of it being even better to those on old or just bad hardware is amazing news
For a one in all style of OSU mania I feel like we should get a color dynamic option where it acts like color grouping in regards to how etterna colors work depending on the map
Oh wowwwwww, I can't thank you enough for this, I was one of the people complaining about performance and now it even runs faster than stable ahahahha. I'm getting 130 fps ingame like wottttttt
a new feature that I and possibly many others would like in mania if its not already there is "note field zoom", which is a feature in StepMania/Ettera/Project Outfox that lets the player see more of what they need to hit before it gets to the receptors and gives more response time
@@hifumindesu6784 there is no such existing setting related to "scaling" as you describe for mania in either stable or lazer, unless what you mean is not in the settings of the game itself
@@hifumindesu6784 thanks, I was able to figure this out now, I had just installed Lazer so I was impatient and couldn't find it at first, sorry about that lol. very neat feature by the way, and it solves what I was talking about, and I like how it applies to all 4 gamemodes :)
Yeah I noticed on this update the performance is better on mid tier 2021 phone. Although it's still not acceptable for competitive play but casual player like me is now much happier with it. Honestly I did not expect performance boost, but kudos to contributors who made it 👍
I don't know if I'm the only one, but the new renderer change made my game really laggy when it automatically switched to DirectX. I had to turn it back to "OpenGL (legacy)" for it to stop lagging monstrously when decoding videos.
Please do something to make Mania playable on phones, the buttons are way too small and I cant hit 2 notes at the same time when they are right next to each other, not to mention the buttons are so small that I can't even hit individual notes 60 to 70% of the time.
I don't play lazer because it has some issue with my tablet drivers. I use a gaomon S620, and the OpenTablet Driver. For whatever reason, my cursor will skip around a bit when moving at high velocities. For anything that isn't a stream map, this issue makes the game unplayable. It's probably an issue with the driver not being compatible with lazer (rather than the other way around), but I figured it worth mentioning.
I have a intel core i3 4th gen nuc type of a pc, lazer works fine (apart from it crashing time to time). I am basically your evidence that lazer will run on your high end or seemingly falling apart pc.
hello, i'm playing more of osu!lazer lately and i'm liking it, it feels better to play on lazer, but i was wondering (sorry if i'm a bit of an idiot with the following question), does setting a new top play on lazer count as a new top play in classic or do i need to set the new top play in classic as well? Continue like that with the Lazer dev it's great! have a nice day
I still desperately need a better way for Lazer to load maps from the database. I currently have 106,709 maps and Lazer would take days to read the original db if I were to let it run
This is because it's downloading metadata for the beatmaps. We'll optimise this further over time, but why not let it run overnight? It will resume where you left off so you don't need to complete it in one session either.
They have returned and blessed us with another laser update
lazer
auto correct lol trust me I’m aware
this is why I like lazer updates

I hope the intros become more absurd in future updates cause this intro is GOLD.
I'm eagerly awaiting the day I get a new favorite (my favorite right now is "forget your responisbilities, there's a new lazer update")
this was the update i was looking forward to the most, huge thank you to everyone involved
incredible update! great work from the developers!
The transition at 1:35 from the live gameplay to the editor is kinda sick.
no joke when lazer gets completed itll probably be the best rhythm game ever made; im really excited for it to become the main game
itll be out in the year 2100
True, Lazer is a rhythm gaming platform and not just a rhythm game
nice pfp color scheme

"lazer will run on trash" finally i can play it again
finally, a new renderer. I may try lazer again and see if the input lag is finally gone.
This has to be a contender for best lazer update to date! Although my mid-range laptop was already pretty good at running the game, there's a very noticeable performance improvement, thanks a lot!
GOD THANK YOU FOR THIS 0:56
THank you for the dev update! Great to know.
This is amazing. I love the framed picture of peppy, lol.
Thank you guys for working so hard on this game :) super excited to see how it turns out
Hey Peppy in the renderer selection screen you should add a little "Benchmark" button that shows some gameplay and the Overall FPS at the end so people can have and Idea about which renderer works best in their devices without having to manually check by playing and checking the FPS at the same time.
This is a great update! Thanks for making these update videos. 🎉
i love osu and i love osu lazer and all this updates over time. :) so nice to see something cool evolve

finally i've been waiting for the new renderer!! Thanks peppy!
Bro peppy knows how to add quality of life changes to even the smallest of things
3:28 GOD DAMN ITT!!!!
I love these little update videos ❤❤ even though i haven’t played osu in general for like a year
i have been playing osu! for 3 years and never knew stable had a compatibility mode. And after having played on it, it is life changing LMAO
victory laps update is something i didn't know i needed
holy shit i am so happy now
THE 4 KEY SKIN IN ARGON IS READABLE NOW?!?1!
These videos are my favorite things to watch in the morning, thank you
I feel like these are the only changelog videos I watch out of every game I play. These are great.
4:27 THEY KNOWWWW
2:32 yeeeey, that's the bug I submitted
2:18 i feel like this is such a niche thing that everyone did, i'm glad they kept it in tho
That picture of peppy should be put in a art museum. It's the finest piece of art ever
FINALLY DIRECTX FOR LAZER
so much thanks for making lazer for us fam❤
Singletap mod is so fucking cool actually, also addition of "victory lap" in replays is awesome.
THANK YOUUU, this is just what I wanted!!!
Man I love you guys! Thank you so much!
OMG its mania skin update 😱
I really like the intro is getting more and more absurd
Did you really bought a frame just for that bit lol
"Laser will run on trash"
I laugh.
Argon mania skin changes are fantastic.
yay!
i think i botched 7K tho lmao
Please implement the "No sorting" option for beatmaps, I love to see my beatmaps being not grouped and just go through each difficult track in order
yep, we're aware of this requirement.
@@DeanHerbertMooCow Sick! Can’t wait
the colors behind the playfield in the lazer mania skin still make it unnecessarily hard to distinguish approaching notes

I checked for this video right after getting the update and thought we weren't getting one. Happy to be wrong!

quants?
Color note timing?
this already exists
go to settings
Rulesets > osu!mania > Timing-based note colouring
as someone who changes cursors quite often, it would be nice to have an option to customize that in the skinning ui :)
ohhhhhhhhhh that's a cool idea
an ability to override the skin cursor with a cursor of ur own
idk why but that ´osu will run on trash´ was so unironically funny for some reason
(unless you're still on windows 7)
i mean, i wouldn't expect an unsupported OS to get love, but ig I'll be on stable for the forseeable future :v
