The PSU of the xbox 360 is on purposely designed not to fit in all models. Only the original 203w PSU works on all models be that Xenon/zephyr, falcon/opus, jasper/kronos. But a jasper psu being 150w cannot work on a xenon hence the plastic stoppers on the port, because it will power up but turn off eventually when the power peak is reached.
all i have is a number of xenon supplys they will power a slim e and xbox one with adaptors
@@YoungMrBlue kronos is the last phat motherboard to be released, it is a revised jasper.
Edit: grammar
I always find these consoles fascinating, as they were surprisingly beefy at the time, it's just a shame that the cooling was so bad on the earlier models.
Yeah ps3 and 360 have the ability to make good looking games it’s crazy but technology has far advanced since their time games are too fast past and big to work on them now
9:17 bro drops a valuable 360 and is completely calm about it
Every electronic back in the day was built like a tank I wouldn't sweat it lol
I think this is a great lot. Easy fixes and I love your 05 unit! I see majority of people are coming at you in the comments but all I wanna say is to everyone watching who is a 360 fan, we all start somewhere. This could be him trying to flip consoles and learn as he goes to get better. We’ve all started with no knowledge and everyone can be warriors behind a keyboard typing comments. We live and we learn.
I’m not sure if you know but the first ever dashboard on the Xbox 360 was called the blades dashboard and that came out in 2005 then in 2009 or 2010 the dashboard changed and that was called the new Xbox experience which stands for NXE then in 2012 2013 the dashboard changed again and that was called the Metro dashboard and also the two flashing lights of the red ring of death on the 360 means that it’s overheating if The fans get Loud when you start the console then that means It’s overheating
from what ive seen in the video you need to use the power supplies that go with the assigned motherboard or use the xenon 203w psu could also be the reason the fans are ramping up either that or xboxs fans are weird and usually if you clean out the console see if the fans are the correct way or just replace the fans entirely that usually fixes the consoles
For future reference, you can use a keyboard as controller. Just any usb keyboard will work
The 39.83 B is from a thrift store, somebody paid almost 40 bucks for it and B is the color Blue that's how they rotate the inventory and do sales on the colors every week.
1:35 Bad idea to use that power supply on Xenon/Zephyr/Opus/Falcon consoles as they will be underpowered
3:15 The prong in the middle and the 16.5 amp power draw shows this to be a Zephyr revision and not a Falcon
3:42/5:50 The thermal paste needs replacing
11:00 Heat sink facing the wrong direction
Microsoft put a 12 volt fan in my og nxe that I got from a lot of four untested 360s and they all worked but had red ring and all I did was open it and clean it out
there is a difference between the wattage in needed between the motherboard and the different plugs and plastic pieces are there to neither overpower or under-power the consoles. but, for a short period of time this won't cause damage but if this is a permanent solution it can cause things like overheating and it catching on fire.
I have an Xbox 360 that the disc tray won’t open when it’s standing but when I lay it down it opens
6:25 an opus is nothing like a jasper. It’s literally just a falcon motherboard with no hdmi. Very rare to find one. You could only get one if you sent a rrod xenon to Microsoft and if you were lucky they wouldn’t have any replacement xenon’s to send out so they would send you an opus. It’s much less likely to rrod compared to a xenon, but not as good as a jasper. PLEASE CHECK THE DASHBOARD IF THATS A 7371 OR LOWER ITS A JTAG OPUS AND THATS THE RAREST CONSOLE. DO NOT UPDATE THAT COMSOKE PLESSEEEEE
Continue grinding subs dude ```Can you do OG xbox's next```
the over heating console is probably just old thermal paste try new thermal paste and it might fix the overheating issue
thats actually not usually the issue - multiple factors come into play, such as where the error was reported, the history of the console, what revision it is, which chip was reporting the error, and many more. what this guy should have done was get the secondary error code by holding the sync button and pressing eject 4 times to get a 4 digit error code.
@@bvoppushes two lights is overheating, and it happening instantly points towards either a faulty temp sensor or dried up paste.
you could try turning the console sideways. my consoles disc drive jams when there is no disc inside and when its upright. But the tray works fine when its sideways
Love your videos
It would be wise to check the dashboard , make sure if it’s 7371 then you can jtag it
Try laying the consoles down and see if they get loud like that again.
This is super cool I have a 360 like the black one that I got for free
3:08 thats a Zephyr, not a falcon, falcon it's 14,2A and without the middle plastic piece and it's not the same as the jasper.
The one with two red rings and the one with three ar not fixabale i had the same problem on my 2007 version Xbox 360 i tried every thing
6:24 I should note that the Opus is pretty rare
It’s basically the falcon but with no hdmi it’s very nifty
7:01 *also* the fact that you found it on the nxe that’s a jackpot and you should take good care of it
Or sell it to me if I had money lol
The one with theloud fan has the heatsink turned the wrong way!!
if an original ramps up the fan speed when you turn it on its probably got bad capacitors
i have the xbox 360 elite, i changed the thermal paste and i fans stay constant all the time even at a cold boot. I mean its not super loud but it is annoying
Did you end up making a profit off of the working ones?
What a score!
How can you test the system with no controller 😮
5:04 got a Kinect dashboard not bad at all
The devs definitely should’ve stuck with that and not move on to metro
3:12 actually that power port was for a xenon/zephyr maybe it was refurbished by Microsoft
A Zephyr that Microsoft had laying around as stock, doubt it's been refurbed
I see why that spray painted console isn't working, the cooler is on the wrong way, it will notice the imbalance in the pressure and shut off because it can't make good connection with the CPU, that console probably works.
edit: there is a spacing on the right of the consoles capacitors next to the CPU cooler for the copper pipe to go through, that's the correct way it should be fitted, take the cooler off, and replace the thermal paste and install it that way, and then it should probably fire up, unless it was already a dead unit, the caps look okay so they shouldn't need replacing either.
My ps4 already got broken
Overheating
Fix them up
3:11 this console isn’t a Falcon V2 it’s a Zephyr
@@h0lbsthat is true opus consoles are gained by if you had RRoD and you sent the console to Microsoft and they didn’t have or stopped making xenons so they will send you an opus. also they not available for retail
can i have one lol
It's interesting to see that you really have absolutely no idea what you're doing. Half of the video is about the supposed rip off from Microsoft, which is only intended to protect users from using a weak power supply on an old console. And please don't call the power supply a charger. It doesn't charge anything. It supplies the console with power. The overlays don't make it any better, as the second part of the video also offers absolutely no information.
11:11 That heat sink on the right is on the wrong way. That's probably part of the problem
