I feel bad for you kids today. Back in the 80s and early 90s, most recruiting for college was thru your high school soccer coach. Colleges didn't really have the bandwitdh or ability to see players around the country cause there was no Internet. Lol. Unfortunately I don't know much about it and I have never played in the league but just from my experience in the MLS Next it is hard to top the level of players and coaching that is in the MLS Next. However the ECNL is still a respectable league and players in that league are still talented and extremely capable of playing in the college and professional game. Merry Christmas!

MLS next just like any early ID process is suspect. FYI I’m 40 and my playing days are long gone, so I’m not some disgruntled kid who can’t make it into the league. My advice is to find a club that doesn’t break up, keeps a core of high level players, and has a coach that focuses on development. Or work with someone one on on who develops your skill. Then when it’s time to go to college don’t rely on some showcase to get a coach’s attention. how many hours a week do you practice/train/study football? What's the total hour commitment per week? You can maybe catch up or boost your level if you obsess over it and absolutely nothing else. That's my advice. I know some people don't like that but when you look into all the great's histories, they were all obsessed. There is no other way to get to that level.
