Great game. I'm sure you learned a lot from this game. A few pointers. Tank companies have fantastic range and need to be protected from assaults. They are WAY better at shooting and taking shots than in firefights. Get those meat shields to the front where they can soak up assaults and let the tanks cover them and counter punch. Don't end moves with infantry in vehicles unless they 100% can't get popped. Bubble wrap deathstrikes or they get focused down. With double and triple moves and generous ranges, almost nothing is out of reach in this game. So you can't effectively hide stuff in the backfield. What do you call a commander that leads a formation from the front? Dead. Keep the vanquisher at the back of the formation. They have a MASSIVE range to accommodate for this.
I remember playing Epic 40K back in the day and I really liked using the air force. Really powerful, they can hit anywhere. Because of the you need air force to put the hurt on the other side and equally to keep theirs off your troops as well. Oh and Titan it up baby. You win the air and titan battle you have a good chance of winning the battle.

Would love to see how Tyranids play in epic armageddon! You could do a similar escalating engagement series with the battle of Baal or the battle for Macgragge
It does speed it up greatly, though I prefer a middle ground of dividing the rolls into groups based on the unit type. Since it does still matter sometimes whether a specific unit was hit or not. If it's just 10 Lemon Wedges- I mean Russes, then yeah if you take 6 hits just roll 6 saves and remove from the front. But here where it's 9 Russes, 1 Vanquisher and 3 Demolishers I'd assign the hits (say for example it was 3 hits to the base Russes, 1 to the Vanquisher and 2 to the Demolishers) and then roll those 3 groups.
AA shots in end phase suffer -1 to hit if the unit moved. Also TK hits don't get a save even with reinforced armour. But yeah good to see some good battle reports for epic Armageddon. Love the campaign idea.
Hope you might field a rules question here that came up after watching the report? I can't figure out how 'garrisons' work in Epic Armageddon. I understand certain units can be set up as garrisons, the conditions they need to meet to be placed in garrisons and how to place them. But what decides when garrisons are used? They get mentioned in the tournament rules 6.1.5 that they "may set up two of their garrisoned units in overwatch" Are there any limits to how many eligible formations can be garrisoned? Is it just based on the number of objectives plus which formations are eligible?

@@Tabletop_Standard As i see it for second or third time i realize one thing. Battlefortress and gunfortress are extremly good if they have oddboy upgrade, most versions of army list cost just 50points and d3 poverfields saves so much power on them. ;-)
I've considered lots of things like that mate, sadly having to go to work makes things very difficult time wise to make lots of vids, so I have to prioritise what I think I can make and that doesn't always happen. We do have some BFG stock but I haven't played it yet.

Great report guys. In my gaming group we just fast roll our saving throws and remove from the front. Saves a lot of time.

We do the same. EA was a great system but combat resolution sometimes took forever. Speed rolling saves helps a lot.

That's the way I'd go in mixed units, div up the dice 👍🏻

have you considered battle fleet gothic and epic armageddon campain together?
I've considered lots of things like that mate, sadly having to go to work makes things very difficult time wise to make lots of vids, so I have to prioritise what I think I can make and that doesn't always happen. We do have some BFG stock but I haven't played it yet.

Where is the terrain from?
Buildings are GW Civitas tiles. The hills look like hand carved foam. And everything is sitting on a random battlemat.

Unfortunately this game mat makes the action hard to follow.. While it looks cool there's a lot of visual clutter for the viewer.
