25 years windsurfing experience - I then bought all the kiting gear and had a similar scare as the lady Billy saved - Kiting is a great sport but can be seriously dangerous - if she'd dragged into the rocks and trees she was heading straight towards - she would have been in serious danger - Billy is not exaggerating that he may have saved her life.... Also great advice to get lessons and the right gear....
So a few things: - Great video! - Billy, BRAVO ZULU on a great save, and . . . - (whispering) Billy, about yelling at Sierra about the direction of the camera . . . dude, Captains NEVER yell at Admirals, ever. What a cool place you found to visit, you guys even picked out the better anchorage. Fair winds and following seas to all three of you.
Billy is a hero for saving the lady... He monstered the waves, did a U turn nearly hitting the beach himself, had to do a slide move to avoid the rocks, picked off seaweed with his spare hand while he focused, like a greek athlete, and singlehandedly swept down, picking up the lady's board with his teeth, all while flexing, pivoting like a champion, and rescuing the girl. Bloody legend...
Nice job on that rescue Billy! She really sounded scared and out of control but luckily you saw her and got there just in time. Too bad about your recycled board but great to have passed on to those local boys. I’m sure they will have tons of fun with it. You sure were getting Big Air out there! You are obviously a real expert at it and you showed us why you are a great instructor of the sport. Jetty looked kind of non-plussed about her new friends. I've been watching all your videos, you do a great job of recording and narrating. I didn't realize how cool kiteboarding from POV was. I've watched a ton of kiteboarding but you two are the best! It's inspiring, I lived in WPB for 3 years, I just started kiteboarding lessons I was body dragging and then had to move back to MI. I thought I could/would continue my progression here but it's tough to do from the inland lakes around me. Watching your videos makes me want to get out to the great lakes and continue learning this amazing sport. It sure can be intimidating for beginners... keep up the great work! ...having never kite boarded - I've always wondered why / how - when there are many kite boarders in the same area - that kites never seem to collide, or get tangled up together??... Or do they sometimes??...
I've been kiting 12 years in the NW and Florida. I've seen people get wrapped up but it's rare. When passing someone the up wind kiter raises his kite and the downwind rider lowers his kite in order to pass each other without tangling.
And imagine that every kiters rides his/her own line, which is around 90 degrees on the wind direction. So, although it seems we go all over the place, it is kinda steady when you're in it.

Mini-Jettys! Too cute. At 15:58, those dogs weren't a threat. That was a 'territorial' bark. A notice that others have entered their territory. Not aggressive. The white dog's tail went to wagging side to side. That's great. The ones to watch are the ones that are straight in the air. By picking Jetty up you make her a target. Best to keep her close at your feet and be confident. Claim your space in your mind and walk toward the one that is barking, look where you want to go along the path.. not at the dog. If it backs away, it is giving you respect. If you are confident, it will.
Good deeds never go unpunished. Ok. I’ve got a few questions on kite boarding. I saw the hook on the rigging of your kite board, how do you unclip yourself? Can you give a demonstration of how you set up all of this rigging? So now you have a problem and you release your kite, is your kite go off into never never land or does it collapse and settle down to the water and will it sink? What are the maximum wind speeds that you should not go kite boarding? Thanks for the videos and your channel. Stay Healthy!

Billy is now officially my hero...I am in the process of making my Billt Swezey costume for Halloween, although getting those abs to match a 40 inch waist is going to be difficult (OK, OK a 42 inch waist). I think my best bet is to wear a floor length robe with Billies name front and back, a sun shield to hide my double chin, and I'll just pretend that I'm better looking than I am.
I just discovered a new problem with my Billy Swezey costume!!!! Finding a lady as pretty as Sierra that will be my date!!!! If I start saving now, maybe i could hire a model
