June Allyson was a cutie pie! She also starred with Jimmy Stewart the following year as Stewart portrayed famed trombonist band leader Glenn Miller in "The Glenn Miller Story". She plays Helen, Glenn's wife. Many clips from the movie can be seen here on UA-cam. A real winner of a movie!🎵🎶
It doesn't take a lot of wind to play the trumpet, contrary to popular belief. The air flows through the throat of a trumpet mouthpiece through a very small opening, probably 1/30th the size of the amount that a person's mouth is open when they're breathing naturally. The key to trumpet playing is getting the lips to vibrate at a high frequency with lip strength, embouchure technique, and compression, but not air volume. Doc Severinsen and Maynard Ferguson are the greatest high-note trumpet players ever and they were both small in stature, shorter than Harry James. Maurice Andre, a very powerful classical trumpet player was also just a short little French guy.

Miss Allyson is absolutely awesome!
clip in from MGM.S Two Girls and a Sailor 1944. There is a WB 1950 film, YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN.
..the future was yesterday, what a pity!..
Great 👍
Greatest trumpet player!
Gotta love wee June..
the young man got a horn on then. that expression was not expressed as rude at that time . as it would now.
🥰
Where is Jean Spangler, Kirk Douglas?
This is not the 1950 movie, Young Man With a Horn, rather it is one song from a 1944 musical, Two Girls and a Sailor
hes so skinny wear does the wind come from
