I have tried this method, whether I wait 5 mins or 30 mins nothing happens. No update to the firmware. I am using Airpods pro 2nd Gen with a firmware of 5A377. The latest firmware is 6A301/6A300, which means I am 5 updates behind. This method, as well as the the original method (which I do not see any difference) does not work. I cannot update my airpods pro by using either method, I am also experiencing terrible Microphone quality, my audio is great, but when I try use my Microphone it sounds distant, muffled. I assume this has to do with the firmware being outdated. I do however notice that if I remove my ear piece (left or right airpod pro) and put it on my mouth the sound/volume is much better and quality somewhat improved, one can at least hear what I am saying. Surely apple did not make airpods with a Mic to be used by removing it from your ear and putting it against your mouth. I did not have the setting set originally where if you remove one ear piece it turns on noice cancelation, but did test it with it on and off. Either I have no idea how to setup the airpods correctly or the firmware being outdated is causing this issue or the device itself is faulty. I bought it new (sealed in box) on 2 October 2023.
@@witnessofmurdaa That's interesting - my "fake headphones" won't Update, but otherwise work as they should, including being able to search for them in my iCloud on "Find my Phone". Or perhaps someone thinks that "fake" can be so closely linked to the search on "Find my Phone"?
This is a question that I did when I was trying to update my AirPods Pro2 and now I understand that it’s a very strange question because when you have an authentic AirPods they pair with the Apple device that you are using at that moment so of course they are paired, but when I did the question, I was trying to update the firmware on fake AirPods Pro 2, of course at that time I didn’t know that they were fake, and when they are fake, they don’t pair automatically from one Apple device to another.
I bought two pairs of this, and they were fake, but they were almost as the original, they even sound great, but they won’t to upgrade the firmware, and conversation awareness doesn’t work and they don’t pair with another Apple device so I took them to the Apple Store and they told me they were fake, they told me they use one original serial number and use it for all the copies so when you check in the Apple website, it says they are original because it’s an original number but it’s a copy, the first thing that you notice that they are fake is that the first time you try to pair them with your phone they will say “ this is not your AirPods”, that’s when you know they’re fake, real ones play several animations of the special functions and after you pair them, the first time that you charge them, they will upgrade to the newest firmware, how do I know? because I returned this fake ones and bought a third one from Amazon, but from the official Apple Store and even with a 31% discount and now they are real.. I hope this information is useful for you.
I forgot to write that before taking this fake ones to the Apple Store, I called Apple support by phone, and they remote connected to my phone and they didn’t detect that they were fake only when I took them to the Apple Store. They pair them with their system and they show me dozens of times that this serial number was used.
Other two things that I discover when they are fake, is that the air tips or rubber that go into your ear, they are very difficult to remove and to put back and this doesn’t happen with the original and when you run the test to see if they are tight enough in your ear, the test only runs half a second and then finishes in the real ones they last about 2 or 3 seconds
Lol my GF lost one of the airpod and i found it 3 month later. Every airpod has another firmware version so she cant connect it together. Im trying to update it separately but its not f**** working. Do anyone have the same problem but with any solution? Im not apple user (and i know why)

How do you update your AirPods ?
I just don’t get why they can’t fucking put a damn button in the settings bc of course this didn’t work. Why would it?
