Never missing a game in 9 years with just barely ice packs to recover is insane
I know right I'm pretty sure they didn't have physical therapists and foam rollers 😂
@@GQ-jv9uw if they did they prob didn’t even let Mr brown see a pt since he was black honestly
RIP Jim Brown "The BEST to EVER do it"
Jim Brown is the GOAT in two sports, football and lacrosse. Lacrosse actually changed the rules because of him.
Holy crap I had know idea he played Lacrosse. If you excel at more than one sport at a high level it’s proof that your a phenomenal athlete RIP.
@oldmovieman7 💯🎯 Exactly
Them comparing Jim Brown's rushing numbers like YPG to running QBs is not a fair comparison. Those guys will always have better YPG numbers because they're a threat to throw. No way they would put up those numbers from just playing the RB position.
@@LittleJacob208 He's in the lacrosse hall of fame. The specific rule they changed was to ban shortening the crosse (the stick). He had his cut in half to the normal length. Many consider him to be the best lacrosse and football player of all time.
Brown and Wilt were the two greatest athletes I ever saw. Brown had a presence that commanded respect like no one else I can think of. When he spoke, you listened. The memory I always have of him, because it happened so often, was you saw three or four guys paralell to the line of scrimmage piled on a guy and moving down field and underneath all of them was Brown (you didn't see him - you just saw the guys on top of him that he was carrying down field). Unbelievably strong. He was also very fast, competed in the decathalon at a very high level, starred on the Syracuse basketball team and was a great baseball player who also threw two no hitters in high school.
What crazy is you made no mention of his career as a lacrosse player. He’s arguably the greatest at that sport.
@Ortforshort 💯🎯
@@rodneyd.pierce2234 True!
Condolences to Monique Brown and the family of Jim "The GOAT" Brown ❤ 🤎 🧡 God bless you all.
Jim Brown retired right around the time I started watching football. But he must of been something very special because they still talk about him. He was great in the Dirty Dozen .
Jim Brown was also a tough guy. I saw him once roller skating in Venice beach and some guys that were working out at the outdoor weight pit, started calling him names. He turned around, went inside the pit, and beat both of them up with their own weights. Left them bleeding and continued on with his roller skating. It was like a movie scene.
RIP big fella 🙏
@Wade 👍 😂 👍
Damn id pay good money to see that😂
BS
@@Mason-dq7cf 😂 me too 😂
That's not a reason to look up to a guy. Sounds like a out of control guy. Great player but a lot of demons. Rip
Best running back of all time and comfortably on the Mount Rushmore of the NFL (and lacrosse)
Jim Brown was a BEAST but I got him behind Barry
JB a legend in these L.A streets r.i.p big homie..💔🙏
💔🙏
As a Black kid who was 9 years old, living in eastern Ohio when Jim Brown came into the NFL, I looked upon him him as bigger than life. I had relatives in Cleveland and when my family would visit them, there was never a time when Jim Brown's name didn't come up.
WOW I could imagine what the other RBs named that played for the Browns around that time? The one they made the movie after?
RIP Mr Brown ,today I lost a piece of my childhood never saw you play ,but I learned about you from my dad and reading about your accomplishments you we😂 and will always be remembered as a trailblazer !
Jim brown prime bo greatest athletes all time
RIP Mr Brown
And the season s were shorter in Mr. Brown's day. So, for Jerry Rice to break the TD with additional season games of 16, gives a whole new perspective of GOAT!
He was and still is, and most likely will always be the GOAT of football.
Octavio araujo It's not about games it's about touches and WRs don't get anywhere near as many touches as RBs
@@christiansoldier77 that was true in his day. But the the difference is the scheduling. 12 games when Brown played, 16 when Rice played.
And I was there when Bo Jackson went down in that playoff game in 1991. He had the highest average per carry until Terrell Davis .
I was a running back in High School. I wish back would get more respect these days.
@@octavioaraujo1674 It is not about the games it's about touches . Brown had way more touches as a RB over a WR
I'm a young cat and i recognize Jim from that movie he did with Pam Grier in Gary, Indiana about gangs i just see him as a man's man strong confident didn't back down from nothing said what he meant and meant what he said
None of us are perfect according to the Bible. Jim Brown acknowledged his mistakes and said that he had learned to turn the other cheek.
I'm going to go and buy me a new superman shirt. Jim Brown #32 Cleveland Browns. The real life "Superman "! R.I.P. Jim Brown. The greatest ever!🐐
Best ever
Rest in peace to a legend. My condolences to his families and friends.
Wish rob was in to discuss it. The greatest rb ever
Zach Parker Jim Brown might not even be the best of his era but it is a good debate
@@christiansoldier77 he was a freak. He was so good at lacrosse that they had to change the rules. He is the only rb to average 100 yards per game. He averaged 38 points a game in college basketball. If he played today he’d be even better
@@zachparker4436 Yes he was a great RB but he wasnt head and shoulders above the rest. Lacrosse is a sport where only rich little white boys plays him being the best lacrosse player means nothing. Brown only averaged 13 points a game in basketball. Stop making things up lol 🤣
Averaged 38 pts in lacrosse. That’s how dominant he was.
He was actually inducted into the college lacrosse HOF
@@JTR_14 who even knows what that even means lol 🤣
Greatest of all time. RIP to the legendary Jim Brown.
Obviously I have never seen him play. I remember looking up his stats on time with a friend and we were blown away. RIP
❤ Some argue about who is the best NBA player too. Jordan, James, Chamberlain, Kobe, Oscar, Jabbar. So yes it's as clear as Michael Jordan being the greatest, Jim Brown is indeed the greatest. Actually it should be more clear. Jim Brown played 9 seasons and led the league in rushing 8 times, with defenses keying on him. Listen to Bill Belichik talk about Brown's speed, power, balance, and intelligence ❤
BJ Martin . Jordan is far above anyone else Brown has way more competition
In 1965, Brown averaged 110.3 yards per game. Timmy Brown averaged 66.2 and the great Gale Sayers averaged 61.9. Not even close. Jim Brown won 8 rushing titles in 9 seasons. I agree that Jordan is the GOAT, there's no doubt in my mind. But Jim Brown is the GOAT also.
@@christiansoldier77 I agree, Jordan is indeed the GOAT, no question about it. Jim Brown was too. The guy on the video said Brown was the GOAT, but said it wasn't as clear cut as some other GOATS. But in Brown's final season he averaged 110.3 per game while the next guy averaged 66.2. The great Gale Sayers averaged 61.9 so that's pretty clear. Brown won 8 rushing titles in 9 seasons with teams keying on him. Both Jordan (NBA) and Brown (NFL) were the best.
@@bjmartin1215 Jim Taylor had some years when he was better than Jim Brown
Rip Mr Brown
I hate to see JB go just like bill russell in 2022 the younger generation might not understand but these great man were more then just athletes they did a lot of good off of the field and court these younger athletes could learn a lot from them JB is a top 10 rb/player regardless of time or opinion me and my dad met him in the 90s and that picture is still at my parents house now r.i.p to a legend
I've seen highlights he was a beast but it would have been interesting to see how he woulda did against the defenses in the late 80s and 90s and 2000s.. but you can only play when you can so can't hold that against him...best RB I've seen on tv and 1 time live down here in Htown at the House of Pain against the Oilers was and is Barry Sanders...
Mr. Brown 🐐
Rob G is nuts if he thinks Deion would say he’s not in someone’s class!
The competition was great because the talent was so condensed to fewer teams.
He’s the greatest football player. 🏈
I love it when true stars are so much bigger than the game that they retire ON TOP! Brown and Sanders told the media, "You guys live for sports, I don't!"
He gonna join his friend Ernie Davis in Heaven. great human being.
He played 10 yrs and led the league in rushing 9 times.
He played 9 years and led the league in rushing 8 times.
just love how they basically gonna ignore all his shady past but we all know why they gonna prop him up has this perfect guy based on his career
Jim Brown played when the NFl was fewer teams compared to Today after AFL and NFL merger...
The real G.O.A.T.
Never actually heard people saying he was until recently. Not a knock on him, just saying people were saying other people and I rarely ever heard him even mentioned.
Jim Brown Was The Original Cleveland Browns 🧡🤎🕊️🐐🏈
Bo Jackson, Jim Brown, Wilt and Deion Sanders are the best athletes and most versatile athletes
Not mentioning Jordan you should go somewhere
@@ctbcardinal Jordan played baseball but never really excelled at it. These athletes are known to excel at at least two sports
Did y'all see the pads they used to wear??? Tough a** dude
He was a BEAST! Art Model ruined the Browns and it started by pushing his MVP to retire.
‘If you’re a sports fan and you don’t know the history of Jim Brown then you’re doing yourself a disservice’. That only applies to American sports fans though. Outside of America, virtually no one watches the NFL regularly and will have barely any idea who Jim Brown is. I don’t think they’re obligated to know about Jim Brown.
Pretty sure they were just referring to American sports fans.
I would say Lawrence Taylor could better counterpoint the Honorable and Legendary Mr Jim Brown.RI.I.P.
I don't get strokes, I give them!
Damn Chris, did you have to mention his tribulations? Damn!
Of course......Unfortunately....🙄🙄....malika andrews in jeans.....🤣😂🤣😂🤣.......Geesh......
It is what it is... hate to say this but your story is your story the good and the ugly unfortunately... they bring up that he's a humanitarian ..should they not bring that up?.. that has nothing to do with football...
@@whatyoudontwannahear5053 you're trying to justify it but you know in your heart of hearts that's not customary. When a eulogy or an obituary is read, you're not listing off mistakes and bad choices the deceased have made.
Bruh your story is your story. Your decisions are your decisions. It’s gonna be brought up by others so might as well get it out the way.
@@jaredgarrison333 yeah that's not remotely true. At all.
Jim brown legendary activist and trump supporter 😯
Jim would average 10 yards per carry if he played today, because the NTL..No TACKLING league don't tackle, especially the defensive backs.
I agree like the last 5 years as a former juco safety/ rover the tackling is embarrassing ... but would have been interesting to see if he would have been as dominant against 85 Bears LT's Giants or 2000 Ravens defenses... R.I.P
@@whatyoudontwannahear5053 Jim was great in his own era,Jim was running against a league of slow white boys, team speed didn't come until black players came into the league, when you watch the film of those games with the white players, it looks like the footage is in slow motion.
It would be really nice to see somebody of some importance stand up like these gentlemen did in their day, and fight for the rights of the people. And I don't just mean African-Americans, I mean everybody. This world is so far gone, The divide between rich and poor is so vast, the poor consists of everybody, of every race and every colour, and we are all in serious trouble.
But won't happen, todays thlete doesn't see themselves as the normal person anymore, the guy on the street that needs help paying his bills and feeding his children, because even the bench player doesn't do that anymore. when you make 200 million dollars, you're just fine with the way the world is.
Bro where’s rob ??
They changed the rules for lacrosse because of him
Why every time a black legend dies, the media throws in the negative parts of their lives? Chris mentioning his domestic violence case was so uncalled for
They do it for everybody stop it... ... if they are gonna shine the light on his humanitarian efforts and his off the field community service its gotta be balanced...as great as he was on the field he did great things off right..but that has nothing to do with football so it is what it is.. Kobe died they did the same..if something happens to Lance Armstrong you think they won't bring up his steroid use ..keep it a buck
If you have multiple women claiming you put hands on them, can you really not mention that while praising them ?

Jim Brown was great for his time…..but no player from the 60’s could EVER be considered the best to do it. Players are way more well rounded today. Todays athletes actually play the game 365 days/year, back in the 50’s and 60’s he was going against his neighbor who’s a janitor and my cousin who’s a barber…like come on players back then players worked a 9-5 and then came out for a pickup game…😑
He was 6"2' and weighed 228 pounds and could run the 100 yard dash in 9.8 seconds. He would of been great in any era.
@@richardplantan4375 having good size in speed does not make you a good player. Plenty of players have both of those even better athleticism than Jim Brown yet they weren’t as good. So therefore size and speed doesn’t always matter.
@@richardplantan4375 also way to mention the hundred yard dash as if he’s doing that every run. Clearly, if you think straight line speed is all there is I see why you made that comment
Did Broussard just do same thing Gayle King did? RIP Jim Brown
RIP Jim Brown but I’ve never heard anyone try to argue he’s the greatest football player of all time until he died.
Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor and Tom Brady are players I always hear in that discussion.
I’ve heard it all my life, but I did grow up in NE Ohio(Browns county).
Definitely heard it all my life even sporting news ranked him as greatest football player ever you can look that up
Jim Brown might be the best RB ever but it isn't clear cut. Guys like Jim Taylor and Marion Motley put up similar and sometimes better numbers than Jim Brown but Jim got a lot more carries on a regular basis. Also Brown's era didn't have great defensive players or a lot of black players like they do now .
What are you talking about? Jim Browns stats are far superior than Taylor or Motley. Look it up.
