    Jim Brown is the GOAT in two sports, football and lacrosse. Lacrosse actually changed the rules because of him.

      Them comparing Jim Brown's rushing numbers like YPG to running QBs is not a fair comparison. Those guys will always have better YPG numbers because they're a threat to throw. No way they would put up those numbers from just playing the RB position.

      @@LittleJacob208 He's in the lacrosse hall of fame. The specific rule they changed was to ban shortening the crosse (the stick). He had his cut in half to the normal length. Many consider him to be the best lacrosse and football player of all time.

    Brown and Wilt were the two greatest athletes I ever saw. Brown had a presence that commanded respect like no one else I can think of. When he spoke, you listened. The memory I always have of him, because it happened so often, was you saw three or four guys paralell to the line of scrimmage piled on a guy and moving down field and underneath all of them was Brown (you didn't see him - you just saw the guys on top of him that he was carrying down field). Unbelievably strong. He was also very fast, competed in the decathalon at a very high level, starred on the Syracuse basketball team and was a great baseball player who also threw two no hitters in high school.

    Jim Brown retired right around the time I started watching football. But he must of been something very special because they still talk about him. He was great in the Dirty Dozen .

    Jim Brown was also a tough guy. I saw him once roller skating in Venice beach and some guys that were working out at the outdoor weight pit, started calling him names. He turned around, went inside the pit, and beat both of them up with their own weights. Left them bleeding and continued on with his roller skating. It was like a movie scene.

    As a Black kid who was 9 years old, living in eastern Ohio when Jim Brown came into the NFL, I looked upon him him as bigger than life. I had relatives in Cleveland and when my family would visit them, there was never a time when Jim Brown's name didn't come up.

    And the season s were shorter in Mr. Brown's day. So, for Jerry Rice to break the TD with additional season games of 16, gives a whole new perspective of GOAT!
    He was and still is, and most likely will always be the GOAT of football.

      @@christiansoldier77 that was true in his day. But the the difference is the scheduling. 12 games when Brown played, 16 when Rice played.
      And I was there when Bo Jackson went down in that playoff game in 1991. He had the highest average per carry until Terrell Davis .
      I was a running back in High School. I wish back would get more respect these days.

      @@christiansoldier77 he was a freak. He was so good at lacrosse that they had to change the rules. He is the only rb to average 100 yards per game. He averaged 38 points a game in college basketball. If he played today he’d be even better

      @@zachparker4436 Yes he was a great RB but he wasnt head and shoulders above the rest. Lacrosse is a sport where only rich little white boys plays him being the best lacrosse player means nothing. Brown only averaged 13 points a game in basketball. Stop making things up lol 🤣

    ❤ Some argue about who is the best NBA player too. Jordan, James, Chamberlain, Kobe, Oscar, Jabbar. So yes it's as clear as Michael Jordan being the greatest, Jim Brown is indeed the greatest. Actually it should be more clear. Jim Brown played 9 seasons and led the league in rushing 8 times, with defenses keying on him. Listen to Bill Belichik talk about Brown's speed, power, balance, and intelligence ❤

      In 1965, Brown averaged 110.3 yards per game. Timmy Brown averaged 66.2 and the great Gale Sayers averaged 61.9. Not even close. Jim Brown won 8 rushing titles in 9 seasons. I agree that Jordan is the GOAT, there's no doubt in my mind. But Jim Brown is the GOAT also.

      @@christiansoldier77 I agree, Jordan is indeed the GOAT, no question about it. Jim Brown was too. The guy on the video said Brown was the GOAT, but said it wasn't as clear cut as some other GOATS. But in Brown's final season he averaged 110.3 per game while the next guy averaged 66.2. The great Gale Sayers averaged 61.9 so that's pretty clear. Brown won 8 rushing titles in 9 seasons with teams keying on him. Both Jordan (NBA) and Brown (NFL) were the best.

    I hate to see JB go just like bill russell in 2022 the younger generation might not understand but these great man were more then just athletes they did a lot of good off of the field and court these younger athletes could learn a lot from them JB is a top 10 rb/player regardless of time or opinion me and my dad met him in the 90s and that picture is still at my parents house now r.i.p to a legend

    I've seen highlights he was a beast but it would have been interesting to see how he woulda did against the defenses in the late 80s and 90s and 2000s.. but you can only play when you can so can't hold that against him...best RB I've seen on tv and 1 time live down here in Htown at the House of Pain against the Oilers was and is Barry Sanders...

    ‘If you’re a sports fan and you don’t know the history of Jim Brown then you’re doing yourself a disservice’. That only applies to American sports fans though. Outside of America, virtually no one watches the NFL regularly and will have barely any idea who Jim Brown is. I don’t think they’re obligated to know about Jim Brown.

    It would be really nice to see somebody of some importance stand up like these gentlemen did in their day, and fight for the rights of the people. And I don't just mean African-Americans, I mean everybody. This world is so far gone, The divide between rich and poor is so vast, the poor consists of everybody, of every race and every colour, and we are all in serious trouble.
    But won't happen, todays thlete doesn't see themselves as the normal person anymore, the guy on the street that needs help paying his bills and feeding his children,because even the bench player doesn't do that anymore. when you make 200 million dollars, you're just fine with the way the world is.

    Jim Brown was great for his time…..but no player from the 60’s could EVER be considered the best to do it. Players are way more well rounded today. Todays athletes actually play the game 365 days/year, back in the 50’s and 60’s he was going against his neighbor who’s a janitor and my cousin who’s a barber…like come on players back then players worked a 9-5 and then came out for a pickup game…😑

      He was 6"2' and weighed 228 pounds and could run the 100 yard dash in 9.8 seconds. He would of been great in any era.

    RIP Jim Brown but I’ve never heard anyone try to argue he’s the greatest football player of all time until he died.
    Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor and Tom Brady are players I always hear in that discussion.

    Jim Brown might be the best RB ever but it isn't clear cut. Guys like Jim Taylor and Marion Motley put up similar and sometimes better numbers than Jim Brown but Jim got a lot more carries on a regular basis. Also Brown's era didn't have great defensive players or a lot of black players like they do now .
