Unfortunately many of these pilots and aircraft are no longer with us, I dedicate this to them.

R.I.P., Howard Pardue. Thanks for being kind and giving a personal bent-wing guided tour to this Corsair-crazy kid in 1986. You are missed.

RRIII as you see her flying here is not even close to being stock. It's a highly modified Mustang. Dago, GG, Strega & (the final evolution of) Voodoo by comparison could be considered extremely modified Mustangs. 😉

Unfortunately the plane was lost with her new owner, here's a little about the indecent. "18 February 2014 Crashed. There was one fatality. The accident occurred at the Stephens County Airport (BKD) Breckenridge, TX, United States while taking off. The airframe was destroyed. After several hours of ground instruction and one solo flight, the private pilot was making only his second takeoff in a single-seat Hawker Sea Fury airplane. Two witnesses standing at midfield reported hearing abnormal engine and propeller sounds during takeoff and the airplaneaCOs speed seemed to be slower than normal...

@@CalebT_RC All of the Sea Fury’s that have raced at Reno that aren’t using the original Bristol Centaurus, are powered by the Wright R-3350, except for Argonaut race 114, that plane was used as a test bed for the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 conversion

I forgot to add Furias & Dreadnought to the list, they both were/are powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major.

The way some of those Sea Fury's were modified is disgusting.

@@JakeCole1453 There’s only one with actual clipped wings, and those outer wing panels were from a racer that was build during the 60’s when these planes were a dime a dozen, all others have regular length wings. The engines are all different because the Centaurus is very rare, and parts are even more rare for it. The American engines are more plentiful and more reliable.
