the org roam ui package looks incredible. reminds me of obsidian a bit :3 i’ve seen emacs compared to obsidian several times, and seeing how much emacs can match & transform is amazing
Thanks! I definitely will at some point soon! I got a home-manager video hopefully coming out this weekend or next week, but after that, I'll probably do a quick tour of my hyprland + emacs + nixos modular setup! My dots are here if anyone is curious: gitlab.com/librephoenix/nixos-config or github.com/librephoenix/nixos-config
@librephoenix thank you so much! I try your dot file for some reason I can not get it to work, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm installing it on bare metal and Nixos refused to work for me. I'm hoping your next video helps. Thank you I appreciated all your video's . Keep up the great work 👍🏾 👏 🔥 🔥
@@truth_4lif399 Thanks! If you're trying my dotfiles, there's two quick things I know for a fact will break if not done: 1) hardware-configuration.nix was not regenerated or 2) the username variable inside the flake is not set to the name of your user. I have these (and other things) documented in my install notes: gitlab.com/librephoenix/nixos-config/-/blob/main/install.org?ref_type=heads or github.com/librephoenix/nixos-config/blob/main/install.org Hope this helps!
org-rich-yank is another little known, but great package. Sort of like org-download but for text. Past the text inside a babel block with a link back to the source.
Is there any way to line the headings with the normal text? level 2 headings having more indentation than the normal text under first level heading is just weird for me. Before I was only using org-bullets, and it was fine.
I used calfw for a while and it's great! I have a lot of org-agenda files since I source my agenda from my org-roam files, and cafw took a really long time to load when I loaded it with my todo-items. It's still very nice tho!
Distro Tube has really good tutorials. And actually I'm thinking to make tutorial myself. But if you are truly impatient then check out the tutorial present in the emacs.
Recently started using Doom Emacs and your video is very helpful for newbies like us. Thanks..

Good videos, I love your set up, can you do a video installing nixos setting up hyperland and emacs? Thank you!

Do you still use doom emacs on nix? Does it work well?
It's insane how cool those features are, Emacs is amazing.
Hi, how did you get rid of the emacs mac app icon on the top left and the background transparent?

Sounds really cool! I'll have to check it it more later!
Damn thanks for showing org-transclusion. That's an amazing package!

i use calfw as an alternative to org-timeblock, its an amazing package

super interesting & +1 sub ✅
i tried many times to switch to emacs but the friction is too big . Nobody makes a simple enough video to cover the basics of emacs.
IKKK
Switch to emacs from...what?
Distro Tube has really good tutorials. And actually I'm thinking to make tutorial myself. But if you are truly impatient then check out the tutorial present in the emacs.
same
Me too! Switching from file managers and note taking apps such as Obsidian and DevonThink
I'm kinda lost in how to actually get emacs to look like yours or have similar functionality..... An emacs guide would be awesome...
nice
