Hoffmans remind me of King-Hanneman chemistry...especially here even physically one can say it's pretty damn close! Heck, add a few pounds on both and there you have it! (RIP Jeff)

People talk Shit about Glen but the guy still is shredding today. His voice is still pretty good and doesn't sound like ground beef. Those first 2 albums are classics, the intensity is insane.
You can definitely hear the difference in the guitar sound after the Hoffmann brothers left the band. The brothers had that saturated, scooped-mid sound down to a tee. After that, the guitars were still heavy, but they seemingly had more of a midrange boost.
When the Hoffmans left the band, it was a time when scooped metal sounds were out of fashion so that's understandable. Still, I do much prefer this obviously-EMG-81, menacing sound. It fits their profile much more perfectly and they sound more diabolical with it.
The stage soundman is a God given gift to many, this is a profound live setup, The brothers remind me of refined gang members on a holy trip to balls to the wall expertise about giving the streets their calling like it was in Florida back in the 1940's-1970's a hell on Earth for truly prized possessions of murder and criminal intrigue.

Eric Hoffman is badass on guitar . His timing is always on point and when he makes a mistake he's great at hiding his fuck ups . But this show sounds brutal as fuck to say the least
I remember this tour circa 2002, especially being impressed by Steve Asheim's relentless drumming but not so much the rest of the band. Different story in 2013, the new lineup is well practiced, and actually make it sound like music.
What's funny about this gig is that Steve often played faster than the Hoffman's could shred. Dead by Dawn's solo is a mess because Steve played it like 30 BPM faster than usual.
Hell yeah, when they played in a small Seattle bar with Morbid Angel and Exhumed, and i think Dying Foetus was there, too. Insane night. The guitarist from exhumed vomited all over us. The guitarist from deicide kicked some dude in the head and knocked him out... and when he woke up he was so stoked it happened to him... Morbid Angel stole the show though. Such a rad lineup of brutal metal.
And not even joking I'm totally convinced Glenn and the crew ( or some at least w Glenn) get their powers from below! I mean come on how can you play bass like that and vocalize anything rhythmically precise like that 😆 I mean come on and Steve? Drumming powers from a deeper level for sure🔥🤘😈👹😡

Yes I'm guilty of death metal music what can I say lol I grew up in Hillsborough Co.FL coming up in the 80s through 90s+my father is a jazz drummer.It was all about metal and jazz😆 plus MorrisSound recording studios wasn't far from where we lived in Tampa and have been several times with DaddyO when I was much much younger.Anyhow when it comes to overall morals ethics values and just overall way of life though I'd say I'm definitely more on your side w things.I grew up southern Baptist.I'm definitely familiar with both sides I'd say.I will check ✅ out your reccomendations friend thank you!☮️

This is the original Deicide line-up & they were ferocious live... no other Deicide line-up played with the intensity that these guys did...
