    Marking incorrect questions on UW and then doing a marked pass, instead of an incorrect is definitely a good way to not fall into doing a ton of repeats, then you can also mark questions that you guessed on or just want to repeat them.

    Hi Alyssa, thank you for these super informative videos! I'm a current third year student at a DO school interested in pursuing anesthesiology as well! Would love to connect for tips and advice about 4th year rotations and everything in between, if that is possible!

    Loved those video! Btw may I ask how u studied for the research type questions in step 2? I’ve heard they’re long and there’s not much practice in uworld? Thanks 🙏

      I actually didn't do anything special to study for the research-type questions apart from UW and NBME material. When I did my blocks, I saved those questions for the end so that I could build up extra time and not feel rushed though!

    Great video! Thank you so much for making a channel. Can you also make a video on clinical advice and tips on working with residents through 3rd year?

    Another question, I did the CMS forms twice when in that rotation before my shelf (following Mehlmans advice also) I only have three weeks dedicated which is enough for all the NBME plus review + free120. Should I also have allotted time for doing the CMS forms twice again?! Thank you so much for your help!

      I hope I'm not too late, sorry! Although it would be ideal to go through the CMS forms again closer to your exam, I think you will be just fine without it. Especially since you already went through each form twice during your rotations. If you end up having more time than anticipated, perhaps you could just glance through some of the CMS forms from the high-yield subjects just to refresh yourself on common concepts before the exam without actually doing the questions again. Best of luck 👍

    Thank you for helping us! Sound advice. Did you ever practice the tests timed? I have a timing issue testing, so curious your thoughts! Thank you!

    • @alyssa-do
      @alyssa-do  8 місяців тому +1

      I actually never practiced my tests timed! But if that works better for you to help you get your timing down, absolutely go for it. :) Some things that help me save time in sections is by flagging and moving on from a question if I don't know the answer relatively quickly and saving the biostats and multi-part questions for the end of the section so they don't slow me down. If there is an image, I actually just tried to answer the question based on the image and didn't read the stem until I had extra time remaining at the end of the section (when I had time to go back and review the section). You could also do practice exams with a timer on your phone so that way you can keep track of your pacing but purchase the exam on the self-paced mode so you don't get timed out. 😊

    Thank you! Wonderful video with many things that I have found helpful! How many q banks would you recommend to do for sure....if one had a lot of time on hand, besides cms, and nbme forms?

    • @alyssa-do
      @alyssa-do  8 місяців тому +1

      Hmm, great question. At this time, I would recommend one qbank in addition to CMS and NBME forms. Typically students use either UWorld or Amboss (I used UWorld). I suppose if you had a LOT of time, you could use UWorld and Amboss in addition all of the NBME content. I'd just recommend going through all of the NBME content towards the end of your prep so you are in the right frame of mind before test day.
