of all the videos I've watched of people removing the sound deadener with dry ice, i would have to say that you had the best results. I wasn't going to use this method based on other videos I've watched, but now I'm rethinking it since you had such good results.

For the vertical parts that I couldn't stack dry ice onto I used those cans of compressed air you get at office stores. Turn them upside down and spray on the sound deadener. It freezes the deadener pretty quickly but one can gets you about one square foot. Definitely more costly than the dry ice but less hammer swinging. I also had decent results using an electric chisel/scraper from HF (super loud though).
Hey man. Was the Sound Deadening removed just to check for rust? or was it to make the car more noisy? Seems kind of silly, but if you need to do that to check fo rust, I get it. I just got a Z today. Thanks -Nate
What do u think of spraying down sound deadening material co2 out of a tank? It would have came out like a liquid but instantly evaporated & froze those pieces.

On this build I probably won't, just because I already have an image in my head for what the final will look like. But I will definitely be doing a cyberpunk build in the future! I have a few projects in-mind for when the Datsun is complete :)
Great video the only problem is that I already did it in my 280 and take me days to complete clean the entire car, already complete clean and paint inside the car and trust me I don't want to do it again at least the way I did. I wonder if the heat transfer from the engine/transmission would make that sound deadening stick harder in the center console portion.
That's actually a really great guess. Maybe there's more glue applied there too because of the anticipated heat.
Please rent one of those big sand/water blasting machines you have in America. I think it's called something like "Dustless blasting"
You may have been able to use cardboard to make form to pour dry ice on the vertical parts
