    Sorry for the poor sound and video quality. I forgot most of my camera equipment and the stuff I did take wasn't charged up! And my new Samsung S8 does some weird wobbly thing with the video image. I will need to look into it. Anyway, hope you like the video! Thanks, as always, for watching :)

    Massive respect you bought that car. To drive it, not say you own it. And to take it to a track day. Well fair play

    From the gods of the ferrarichat.com:
    Manual says that flashing light indicates low F1 fluid pressure or gear not engaged properly. Have you checked the F1 fluid level? Also your F1 pump maybe on its way out. Its a cheap fix, same pump was used with Alfa Romeo Selespeed system. It even has or had identical part number IIRC.
    Also I found this, F1 pump was on its way out (not keeping sufficient pressure at the F1-system):

      thanks mate. I replaced the pump for a new one about 6 months ago. I'm hoping it's just something minor! I haven't checked the fluid level but will do. Just been flat out since I got back.

      Can you share the part number of the Alfa Romeo (presumably same as360) F1 pump? I'd like to try this for my pending F1 pump replacement, if possible. Thanks cheers!

    Had mine on track before a couple of times, great fun. If you want I could send you a dvd workshop manual for the car. Loads of useful info on there and full fault code register.

    F1 pump or clutch... Get the clutch reading % done. Also worth doing a battery reset on my Maserati I had a battery isolation switch, which I switched off then on again seemed to reset odd warning lights

    Nice to see the ferrari in the track! I hope in those days to go last track of the year also.

    Hi Justin, love your channel and videos👍 have to say the RS looked more fun on the track, gear change looked horrible not sure if that was down to the camera. I know you've had a new engine in the RS but it always survived a track day! And cheaper to repair 😉

  • @gerrycooper56
    @gerrycooper56 6 років тому

    I’ve spent as much time on the track as the road and do what you seem to be doing - change gear at around 7000rpm. You can see the tacho needle when it’s vertical in peripheral vision. I’ve lost the back end twice, and once it goes is very quick so hang on. After around 8 laps of Barbagallo in Perth the brakes disappeared so had Castrol SRF put in the system and no problem since. Also had the CS TCU fitted which improves shift time.
    One thing re your problem - is the engine cover open light on? I had a problem with the engine cover latch which meant the switch didn’t make. This spring loaded contact is connected to the tcu somehow.

    Damn. Mine did this sort of stuff just after I bought it. Turned out to be gear position sensor and a failing throw out bearing. $4K US to fix. Hope yours is a lesser problem.

    Is the jerkiness of the transmission normal? Is it a dual clutch? I should know this but I'm not too familiar with Ferrari's other than they are bad ass and sound great 👍

  • @zbawicieldiesel
    @zbawicieldiesel 7 років тому

    Thanks for this video Justin. I enjoyed it really really much. Great job :)
    Especially I like the cockpit view from that camera between seats. Ferrari is not really my thing ;) but there is something lovely about it's... dash. 1:30 - these gauges are placed just where they should be and their sizes, colors, fonts and needles are just perfect in my opinion. So sporty, stylish, clean, minimalistic (no LCDs, tablets, animations and other modern fancy noise). Pure motorsport. 1:30 - you could do a wallpaper from shot like this IMO.
    Sorry about that gearbox - it must be irritating for you. I hope it's nothing serious. I've noticed (from 5:43 to 5:47) that when you push hard the throttle and upshift at the same time the revs goes up for a moment and then drops down when next gear is finally engaged. Is it normal behaviour?

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  7 років тому

      thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. The revs going up on the upshift...I think it's always done that although it does appear to do it a little more than before. I think there may be some clutch slip so will be getting that checked out shortly. Cheers!

  • @remcosol
    @remcosol 7 років тому

    Great fun to watch and great sound!
    In your video it sounds like the clutch is slipping each time you change gears . Maybe it always sounds like that but maybe worth listening to ?
    Keep up the good work !

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  7 років тому

      thanks. I've done about 20,000km on that clutch so it's possible it's slipping a bit. I will get it checked when it goes in to get the gearbox looked at next week.

    Wow it does sound wonderful . The problem could it be electrical ???? Mind at the start there was a lot of road noise .But the Ferrari is more about speed /and handling not deadening sound . Great video .

    Respect in taking it around a track. They bite hard when you don’t drive to the text book. You problem could be pressure related so low gearbox fluid or fluid that needs changing. Would try a fluid and filter change before you go the expensive route of looking at the pump! Good luck.

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  7 років тому

    Ouch; gearbox problems of any kind usually mean $$$$ in these - best of luck, Fezza! If it makes you feel any better, mine has a somewhat similar problem that no one has yet been able to solve. While standing still in traffic it will sometimes beep and go into neutral. That by itself is within the range of normal (see page 3-14 in the owner's manual) but sometimes mine will not go back into first right away, have to sit there and play with it while the traffic behind you gets impatient. Oh , for a true gated manual! And by the way, your exhaust is indeed awesome; I have a Tubi on mine; good but not as good as your Capristo.

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  7 років тому

      ah, I have a similar issue sometimes with mine. I go to select first and nothing happens. Flick the paddle again and nothing happens. Then all of a sudden it kicks in and having pulled the paddle twice it's now in second gear. It only happens now and then but it can be a bit embarrassing when you're holding up a bunch of cars at the traffic lights!

    • @Gadne92.5
      @Gadne92.5 7 років тому

      Same here! Even after a new clutch + flywheel + "calibration" it occasionally does this. When standing at the lights, gearbox in "N". Then I choose 1st but nothing happens ... goes like 2-3 sec and mine selects 2nd gear. Then I manually drop it to 1st.
      F-chatters say there's 2 "angular sensors" (hall sensors) at the left side of the gearbox which can get dirty and make the F1 system behave like this. IF your current problem wont get solved easily and you actually need to remove gearbox or even rear bumper I suggest strongly that you clean those up or you ask the garage to do it. Its like 15-30min job for a tech familiar with Ferraris.

    • @daveanderson6248
      @daveanderson6248 7 років тому

      Thanks very much for the tip, Gadne. I too just had a new clutch, etc. and thought sure that would solve this issue but no such luck. Next time I bring it in I will have them check the sensors.

    Nice that you got the Ferrari to the track but sucks that it developed an issue. Damn fussy Italians! My STI is similar to the Focus in that you can drive it close to your limits and never feel like you're about to bin it. Very forgiving almost no matter what. Nice vid, hope the cars ok!

  • @Zadster

    Hmm. Faulty sensor on the gearbox? Heat soak from the spirited circuit run might well promote its failure. I swear sometimes Ferrari / Magneti Marelli found a load of 1970s British Leyland Lucas parts and decided it was a great idea to base their designs on them. I imagine the electronic diagnostics will help anyway.

      Yep, hopefully just a duff connector - that motor sounds absolutely amazing being worked hard on a circuit, it would be a shame not to do it again some time!

    Curious to see what the issue with the gearbox is! Nice to see you took the 360 to the track. Really enjoying the Ferrari video's, keep it up :) ! Quick question: did you ever drive other Ferrari's besides the 360 and other ones you've posted to the channel (like the 612 and stuff)? Any of the older models like 355, 348, 328, 308, Testarossa,..?

      I enjoyed your track day video. The exhaust on your Ferrari sounds wonderful. I hope your shifting problem is something minor. Here in the US, Ford's Powershift transmissions, which are a dual clutch design used in the Focus and Fiesta, have been known to behave like yours due to a poor ground. I hope your problem is that simple.

    • @FezzaYT

      I have previously thought about it and even looked at options like an Atom or Exige or something like that. I always tempted to get a track only car but I have to stop spending money on cars!!
