@@Dempsey1873 exactly. Hes so humble and a great sportsman, he wouldnt say something like "the fight never happened because Tyson was avoiding it" nowadays. Complete opposite for Mike, he never had to deal with a puncher like Foreman his entire career, and he was at disadvantage risking his title.
Like cus always said “if the chance ever came for you to fight big George, DONT do it” 😂😭. I train peek a boo and I can say and a LOT of others who know boxing will say that big George would’ve knocked Mike out unless Mike decided to fight a steady 12 round fight. George foreman’s style of pushing down and using his arms as sticks to push you into position of his punches is a NIGHTMARE for fighters that slip on the inside a lot and especially for fighters who mainly fight off the front foot. Tyson would’ve either been dropped two or three times and tko’d or it would’ve been a close 12 round fight where iron Mike might get wobbled but win unanimously. But the right trainer is needed. Before he went to prison, Emmanuel steward and his lawyer were going to contact Tyson regarding his promotional contract with don king which obviously would’ve let to Tyson finding out he’s being bummed for money and he’d either leave and join Kevin Rooney again or join Emmanuel steward and both would be way better than the crazy Italian he had from 94-98 or Freddie roach
Apparently when Don King approached Tyson about this fight Tyson said something along the lines of: “I’m not fighting that animal! You love the motherfucker so much you fight him!” Who would’ve won is anyone’s guess but I’d give it to Foreman personally.
Tyson always punched up at bigger guys, Forman always punched down at smaller guys. Prime Mike would always play the angles game shifting and slipping outside or inside becoming perpendicular to his opponents, big George would pressure and come directly at his man with overwhelming force. On paper mike takes it but reality is we’ll never really know how these two giants of the sport would handle each other
on paper mikes style is all wrong for george. foreman was made for dismantling pressure fighters. look at how he destroyed joe frazier. young george finishes tyson in 1, old george probably takes 3.
On the outside Foreman would annihilate Mike, on the inside Foreman would pull Mike past him and bully his guard around like he did to Frazier, and if Mike can stay close while avoiding that all he's done is put himself in a position to brawl with a man that has much more power, a far better defence and a far better chin.

Frazier and Foreman just looked over matched.
If Foreman had better people in his corner to come up with a better strategy other than seek and destroy Ali. He would have beat Ali. But that's why Ali is the greatest!
Man, if that fight would’ve happened, George Foreman versus late prime, Mike Tyson would’ve been a hell of a fight💯 the power, punching alone of both guys is crazy asf! Forsure I respect both of these guys living legends🫶
90s Foreman would have lost for sure. But in his prime, it would have been one of the greatest fights of all times
Prime Mike wanted NOTHING to do with a 40 year old foreman 💀any version of George KOs Tyson
That uppercut that caught Jerry Cooney was vicious. G.F. is a beast 💪

Living legend. He looked Muhammad Ali in the eyes. Fastest most knowledgeable boxer of all time. And George had to deal with him. George lost, but, he fought a man that’s one in a billion. George loved Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Ali loved George Foreman. Like brothers, family
Foreman, in a later interview, said he "didn't want any part of Mike Tyson". So, it's difficult to know what to believe.
george wouldve fought anyone who held the title but after mike lost it he no longer wanted to fight mike
Foreman and Tyson were in reality pretty terrified of each other lol. Tyson definitely knew he probably wouldn't be able to knock him out but Foreman wasn't so sure.
He did but he speaks with great humility about other fighters. He was afraid of Joe Frazier (a Tyson prototype.. ) too and demolished him twice. He had no fear of Ali though and he lost.
Pretty sure it was just him being humble in his old age so to speak
@@Dempsey1873 exactly. Hes so humble and a great sportsman, he wouldnt say something like "the fight never happened because Tyson was avoiding it" nowadays. Its only logical that it was Mike who cancelled the fight. George had nothing to lose, no title, he had fought way bigger punchers than Mike so he knew he would be fine. Complete opposite for Mike, he never had to deal with a puncher like Foreman his entire career, and he was at disadvantage risking his title.
Honestly one of the best if not the best boxing stories of a heavyweight champion. His comeback story is absolutely bonkers.
Sorry I remember that comeback. Foreman would have ko’d round 2. Foreman in his prime , Tyson would be on the ground

Even with age difference, I'd still favor Foreman.
Young George and Sonny Liston used to take long walks around the city after training,muggers...yeah nah fck that.!
Big George is awesome
My top fav Heavyweight of all time.. Big George huge puncher..
Both in their prime? What a war that would’ve been. I’d take Foreman though.
Apparently when Don King approached Tyson about this fight Tyson said something along the lines of: “I’m not fighting that animal! You love the motherfucker so much you fight him!” Who would’ve won is anyone’s guess but I’d give it to Foreman personally.

I did not realize that David Letterman was once a young person 😂
Its a battle of styles....Any version of George would beat any version of tyson
