Hi, I wonder why they sing in French? Where are their origin? I am Frenchspeaking Belgian and wonder if They come from here (some people in Louisiana came from my part of Belgium) ???
jaadtoly23 Louisiana is a former friend colony, just like Texas was a former Spanish colony. So there are still many French speakers in Louisiana and many, many Spanish speakers in Texas. Do some research.

Les acadiens ont été victimes de ce qui est présentement définie un netoyage ethnique par la gouvernance britanique du temps car se considérant neutre vis a vis les guerres européennes ils refusait de preter allégence a la couronne britanique, or ils furent déportés, la majorité en Lousianne certains en France ou curieusement ils furent mal recu et certains autres dispercés le long de la cote atlantique des colonies anglaises. Mais ils survivent et influence la culture américaine.
