✋ Distribution from hands (throws and side volleys) ✋
Use your distribution to your teams advantage.
✅ Start counter attacks, create chances or retain possession (better chance of controlling)
You are ALWAYS going to have opportunities to distribute the ball from hands. So make sure to work on on all types of distribution so you can deal with any type of situation.
Look at the different types of throws Lee used to release the ball early or to retain possession playing through or over.
Likewise with the side volleys.
Throws are brilliant for quickly releasing the ball, in confined spaces or over close range obstacles.
Side volleys are great for greater distances and faster ball speeds.
🦶 Distribution from the floor 🦶
It’s not just about trying to set goals up.
Lee never played in a team that wanted to play out from the back so it was important to try to play key passes and look to keep possession higher up the pitch.
✅ Play flatter / slightly shorter to give teammates more chance of controlling + protecting
✅ Carry the ball higher up the pitch to put it into more dangerous areas
✅ Play wide
✅ Switch the play to give players more space
Rather than just shelling it up the pitch as far and as high as you can… mind there are a lots of managers who just want that 😅
