My mother grew up in Michigan and my dad grew up in Oregon. My mother's roommate in college was pen pals with her brother's roommate in the Air Force who was stationed in the Azores. When she got married she decided it would be inappropriate to keep writing to him so she asked if my mom wanted to write to him. She did and they later met face to face, fell in love and got married in 1968. They were still married and in love when mom passed away in in 2016. They came close to meeting in the early 60's though. While on a road trip on South Carolina mt mother and her friend saw a pair of surfers. One guy came into the beach while the other one (the "cute one" according to mom) stayed out. They chatted the guy up a bit while mom hopped the cute surfer would come in too, but he never did (the surfing was really good). The cute surfer was my dad. My sister also encountered her future husband many years before the fell in love. When I was 12 and my sister was 10 our family went skiing. On the way home we stopped for dinner at a restaurant. Our waiter was the man my sister would end up married to. There was no spark then, but 12 years later, after my sister grew up they met again and fell in love. This and other coincidences make me wonder how many people ALMOST met the person they would someday marry years before they actually fell in love.

Due to my church burning down , our parish decided to hold back all Confirmations until the church was rebuilt. Needless to say, it took 4 years. My cousin use to listen to one of her Mom's old records. Her favorite song was called Eddie My Love. This creepy coincidence happened to me so my dad was outside then I heard a knock on my door I saw two men one my dad still working and someone who looks exactly like my dad then I started to watch tv then I heard another knock I looked outside my dad was dead or the other person was dead so I had no idea which one so I decided to let the guy in so far it seems like he is my dad but one night I woke up and I saw him watching over my mum with a knife and the creepy part is that was yesterday

it was because the people who were going to develop the 1st picture but forgot about it. They labeled it unused and somehow the women bought the same plate. She got the same plate from hundreds of other plates she could have gotten.

Photographs have only been used for about one hundred years and then only in a random way. I don't think it would be unusual for many people to look similar across time. Too much amazement is implied by this normal occurrence.

Very interesting. I did know about James Dean's car but I didn't knwo of the other stories.
That said I still don't understand why people are so baffled about finding old photos which resemble people currently living, the simple and intellegant answer is gentics. I imagin that there are photos of women who lived a hundred years ago who look like my grandmother given that bone structure, facial features, hight, and skin colour are all determed by gentics.

Due to my church burning down , our parish decided to hold back all Confirmations until the church was rebuilt. Needless to say, it took 4 years. Meanwhile, a public school was also waiting with us studying catechism with our parish and when all 4 grades came together we all were confirmed together. A picture was taken of all classes. My future husband that came from public school was standing in the picture in back of me and his sister is next to me. I never knew either of them growing up until 11 grade. My mother sent me the confirmation picture when I was married and showed my husband and he seen all of us there....creepy huh?

i think the point was that she didn't get the film (plate) from the developer ever for first shot of boy. then she got the shot of the girl done and the developer had unkowingly used the plate with the boy on it (her boy) and it ended up having both superimposed on it.. both her children.
