We have learned quite a bit about the Light and the Darkness since Witch Queen. We learned that the Light and Dark are neutral forces; wielding one does not make you good or evil.
Ya that’s where I pulled from for most of the theories about “yin and Yang” I’m glad Bungie started going down that route for sure, and thanks for watching!
Destiny lore nerd here. There is one particular thing savathun said. The witness is not darkness, but it wears it like an ugly cloak. Darkness is not...evil, and neither is the light good.
@@FranklyGaming Another thing we learned was that, yes, Bungie is Canon to the Destinyverse. Savathun canonically tried to enter *our* reality, to Ascend so to speak.
"does that mean Bungie themselves are also Canon in Destiny lore?" Short answer is yes. There was lore that dropped in Witch Queen that directly mentioned the Distributary being a child universe of the Destiny universe, and that Savathun was trying to learn from the awoken of how they went from a child universe to a parent universe to reach the player base, which is directly described in lore as "the human minds on the other side" I'm convinced that Starhorse is also Bungie.
The crying woman sound bite could have been cut content from the red war, particularly the area where you make your way through Shaxx's armory and you see all of the civilians huddled in the room as well
Honestly my favourite theory/ piece of lore is that savathun was on earth during the collapse and saved humanitiy “indirectly” by making the traveller stay via convincing a family to take off and follow a star singing a song each night till they arrived at the last city. The theory side of it being the family unknowingly sung a song of hive runes which dragged the traveller down with this star being the traveller.
@@thecl0ck30 I don't believe that was ever confirmed. The lore expresses it as a theory, at least I think it does. But it's also possible both happened. Either Rasputin's attack or maybe savathune's possible ritual, that she tricked the humans to chant, helped to make the other happen. The chant ritual may have given an opening for Rasputin to hit the traveler, an otherwise impossible task for paracasal beings, I'd imagine. Or Rasputin's attack weakened or distracted the traveler long enough for savathune's ritual to work.
One of my favorite theories regarding that "ghosts reviving ancient/historical humans" relates to Lord Shaxx, where I've read people made claims saying that he's William Shakespeare revived. The potential reasons that may be is the way how he speaks. His mannerisms, the way how overly dramatic he sounds when speaking, and how loud he gets. He also recited an entire book he wrote himself to Mara Sov. (The helmet stayed on...)
The best part of this video was finding out that Erik is still alive. I remember the first time i heard his story and how the community came together in the best way possible. Those moments make me proud to be a gamer. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live or what language you speak, we're all one big family.
The Aphelion is where I believe the story will go after the light and dark saga. It's just too intriguing of a concept, there's alot they could do with it.
Same thought, in the lore the only mentions of the Aphelion are they are a "glowing and shimmering" presence. We could kill one and thats how we obtain the strand? It is a new form of darkness, and an "aphelion" is the point at which a planet is the farthest away in orbit, so maybe they are like far away from the light, like an "demonic" darkness?
@Not That Fatboy I don't think the Aphelion will have any part in light fall. Strand is the guardian's discovery of darkness. It manifests from our understanding of deep sight. I believe that Osiris will lead us in this direction as he learns of its existence.
I disagree, it's had, what, three lore mentions? I think it should just stay a cosmic horror, maybe get a dungeon tying to hunt one. We could expand on so many more interesting things, maybe we don't beat xivu arath when we beat the witness (bad idea imo), or we could go into all the fallen houses that have just fizzled in the background, siva's still hugely loved, i think we *really* need to make the vex interesting again, rarely have we had vex *characters*, just big bads. Also like, THE NINE? yknow those entities from a different reality/dimension/*something*.
Re: SIVA, the thing that actually lead to the Iron Lords being wiped out was Rasputin's anger over Felwinter (previously known as SIDDHARTHA GOLEM) being chosen by the Light. Rasputin viewed SIDDHARTHA GOLEM almost as its son, so having him taken from it lead it to using SIVA as a means of enacting vengeance via a trap set for the Iron Lords in the Plaguelands. This was after several failed attempts from Rasputin to kill Felwinter via other means. The Iron Lords' intentions with SIVA was actually to help rebuild what was lost during the Collapse, not so much gain any kind of power, but that was never able to come to fruition. Can't wait for Saladin to find out they're bringing him back cause hoooooooooooooooo boy.
@@ilucasz Caiatl: I could do it. Just push one button and-- Saladin: Wh--no! Didn't Zavala already tell you no??? Caiatl: He did. Saladin: Then the answer remains no. Caiatl: It'd be pretty bratty of me to do it anyway tho, yeah? Saladin: That's one way to put it. Caiatl: Do you think Zavala is into bratty girls? Saladin: I'm not having this conversation.
Another scary part is that SIVA is pretty much not done yet; caches of SIVA scattered all around the solar system, like in Titan, Black Exodus colony ship in Nessus (according to Failsafe), and probably many more places we yet to discover
Great research as well! Your deep familiarity makes it hard to tell whether you’re an avid fan of every franchise you cover, or simply really meticulous with your research.
Rasputin possibly has near godlike levels of power at this point. When the Black Fleet arrived, the first thing they did was disable Rasputin, meaning that he posed a threat to them. When Xol attacked during the collapse, Rasputin froze Mars. There are really only 3 things in the Destiny universe that have shown the capability to alter entire planets: The Traveler, The Pyramids, and Rasputin. *Possible spoilers ahead* According to a leaked cutscene, Rasputin was originally designed to kill the Traveler, meaning his network has the firepower to kill gods Update: It would seem that the man-made machine god has killed himself
@@theotherdivinity7668 that's not changing a climate of a planet, that's just blowing stuff up. Shooting a laser into the sun is easier than freezing a planet
One thing I've been starting to think about lately is that possibly this is all a "game" to the light and dark to forge the ultimate warrior race to fight the actual threat to the system. The light/traveler is tasked with finding the one worthy race that can stand against a coming evil and the darkness is tasked with testing that race to see if they can stand up to the challenge. Since we as guardians have destroyed every challenge and shown a mastery over both light and darkness while being able to resist the temptations of both, it almost feels like we are being forged to be a weapon(the final shape?) in some much greater conflict that takes place after the next two expansions. It's actually kind of crazy how much unexplored lore there is in Destiny/Destiny 2. We even have those strange creatures frozen in ice that Drifter and his crew found on some unknown planet outside the system, and they drained light when they were near it. Really wish they would do a novel series about some of the outside stuff, similar to how there were supporting novels for Halo. So many groups and characters have talked about things "outside the system" plus there is the whole thing with all the civilizations the Hive wiped out and the Vex having their own system, so there is quite a bit out there they could eventually go into.
That is a very interesting take on things that I hadn’t considered. Honestly it makes sense when you think about it, the Traveller empowering a species and the Darkness testing them to prepare them for something that is an even greater threat. I find the lord of Destiny to be absolutely thrilling, hopefully the next expansion and the one after will give us more answers than we know what to do with.
I believe the UA-cam video is actually legit. Right before Destiny’s launch it had a major story overhaul. The art of the exo hanging looks almost identical to the official concept art of Exo Rasputin. Rasputin was originally going to be an Exo. Whether or not he kept his status as a warmind or not really isn’t known though. Charlemagne is a submind of Rasputin. In the original story Charlemagne was it’s own separate warmind. A lot of these concepts from the original story are being repurposed into the current story. The story written in the video is very similar to the Felwinter story, especially with the expanded story we got during Season of the Worthy. Charlemagne was recently shown to be the warmind of Mars in the past. I believe this was likely a Bungie employee just having some fun with the rough draft of the story in their free time. The person likely didn’t want to admit to potentially leaking information about the game and it’s story.
1:08:49 Talking about how Rasputin might have prediction capabilities like the Vex has now been pretty much confirmed as not the case thanks to the recent new content/ Dungeon - Spire of the Watcher. But, it turns out ANOTHER AI was made between the Ishtar Collective and Braytech who's purpose was to predict all future possibilities for colonization efforts in order to get humanity extra-solar. So in a way while Rasputin didn't have direct Vex like Prediction powers, this other AI DID and they DID communicate. It's this AI that actually discovered that various possible colony sites in andromeda were being quickly removed as safe. It didn't know WHAT was causing it, but it could predict it. And so it asked the warmind what it should do. The warmind suggested immediate action needed to take place and to launch colony attempts NOW- Hesitation means extinction. Clovis managed to stop and return most of these colony ships (manned with Exos and human Genomes/embreos) but one was noted as possibly not returning and thus is the set up for possibly being the reason Neomuna exists on Neptune. Anyways love this video just wanted to add a bit to it due to the recent juicy lore we got.
That ai was actually the first thing that found out about the darkness tho, it detected strange anomalies and described it as many ships with Egyptian like architecture and moving rapidly
I enjoyed the deep dive as myself a player of just "gun go bang make loud noise" I find these fascinating. Would enjoy those extra 2 hours of your further deep dive
32:55 can i just say that SIVA didnt turn on the iron lords because of their "greed" but in fact they were programmed to basically devour relentlessly far before the Iron Lords ever set foot in the SIVA vault, the entire thing was a trap for felwinter who long story short is basically Rasputin's (the warmind) son. And he basically resorted to "if I can'thave him no one can" and lured him there using documents know that felwinter would want to use siva for the betterment of humanity
The thing with scary and or evil characters saying “do not be afraid” is that it is what angels would say when appearing before humans and it always trips me out, is the traveler the destiny’s version of the devil, granting eternal life at the cost of eternal anguish and conflict, is the witness representing an angel working to put an end to said anguish through complete destruction, idk just a theory
The destiny 1 ps4 background is the background I have had for about 5 years now, and every time I hear the main Destiny theme outside of my ps4 background, I get jumpscared slightly
Here's a WILD theory: Back in Forsaken, after the Dreaming City curse, The Emissary of the Nine was questioning her role as a pawn, only five of the Nine were present at the conversation. Could it be that the 4 deserters became The Witness?
And Byf is still making video covers the lore, especially he made a video that covers the whole story timeline that start even before what takes place in destiny 1
The crying sound is most likely from or meant for the first mission of the red war where the tower gets destroyed and everyone that lives in the tower is dying.
If I remember correctly, the reason the Traveler stayed was that Rasputin did some funni shit and attacked the Traveler, effectively crippling it, forcing it to deploy a defense mechanism: the Ghosts.
Ya I have a theory about it in tier 4 the abhorrent imperative it’s never confirmed it happens but hope so cause it’s so awesome lore for sure, and thanks for watching!
it simply planned to should the traveller try to run. it never actually acted on the plan, though, as the traveller planted itself above the last city and released the ghosts as its final gambit against the darkness
I believe that the light and dark are not good or bad (since we're told that they flow thru all things) and the witness is just something that uses the darkness for itself and the traveler is something that was made to stop the witness.
IDK if someone has commented this already but Destiny the game actually is in Destiny. In the 30th Anniversary, we got a handheld gaming device Ghost shell. If you spin the Ghost around, you'll see a Destiny 2 cartridge plugged into the back of the device
@@FranklyGaming haha! You replied before I made it all the way through the video! That's awesome! It's really good btw, very well researched & edited. You did a great job 😁👍
Great vidya. Hats off to your research. Watching the Destiny 1 footage has me nostalgic for the best gaming experiences I've ever had, even more so than the OG Halo days.
Well actually Rasputin tricked the Iron Lords into coming to Site 6 then released SIVA to kill them due to Felwinter rebelling against his (rasputins) will. Which necessarily leads me to believe SIVA isn’t bad just used based on the users commands. also yes Rasputin is referred to as a Tyrant by most if not all of the subminds Edit: I think the lore tab u read mentioning “taking SIVA” is a submind aboard one of the colony ships
i just wanted to add that the scorn currently are being controlled (or more accurately directed) by the witness. If they were being controlled/directed by the witness during foresaken, the witness could have been enacting his philosophy on the scorn in a weird proxy-battle way. I do not entirely remember it, but he basically says that weak things (ie: the weaker opponent in the scorn crucible) will die so the strong can grow stronger. he could have been attempting to breed stronger warriors with each of their deaths, rather than the development of a scorn culture. That's just my interpretation with my limited lore knowledge anyways...
@@JakeSafetyMan You know its worth mentioning that there are 3 Massive Scorn Bosses you fight in the canonically-repeating mission "Preservation" titled "The Fanatic's Chosen" and yes, their armor is Purple.
I'm fairly certain the Witness wants us as its next disciple to isher in the second collapse. I also think that it's more of a collector and wants to see the universe as a more perfected version of itself. After looking at the witch queen cutscene especially, we can see that there are multiple unidentifiable races trapped in limbo. Additionally, Rhulk was known to capture the Hive worms
Watching this after Rasputins death is crazy, the picture from that video really mirrors how Rasputin looked right after he got turned off, also the stuff about him not being just a weapon was a big part of the seasons story
9:44 actually, look at WQ Collector's Edition and related lore. Savathun wants to leave their universe and transcend to ours (I believe), the Ahamkara are aware of it, and someone passes a theory to Ikora that (essentially) they're characters.

Love the video! Just as an FYI, the colony ship lore at 33:39 says "9 billion miles away" [from Rasputin] is the Neomuna colony ship! Neptune is 9 billion miles away from Earth. That lore actually just blew my mind.
“When Neptune and Earth line up on the same side of the sun, at their closest, they are only 2.7 billion miles (4.3 billon kilometers) apart. But when the planets are on opposite sides of the sun, they can put as many as 2.9 billion miles (4.7 billion km) between them.” -google
@@thehungarywaffleinc.7775 I’m dumb, The orbit of Neptune is 9 billion miles. I just searched “9 billion miles from Earth” and an article about Neptune came up and I jumped the gun.
I think the best answer to the question "Why did the Traveler pick Earth for its last stand?" would be "We were all that's left." It would evoke the kind of cosmic tragedy that Bungie's known for with the Marathon and Halo games.
A damn good in-depth look at the lore in Destiny, easily one of the best I have seen so far. Too bad none of my friends play Destiny 2 anymore, so most of the high-end content, raids, and dungeons I just can't do. I will have to watch your videos now, to find out what happens in Destiny.
41:06 I actually believe what we are hearing here is an early design prototypes for Tormenters. The description we get of these monstrous killing machines match up with the little we see of in the Lightfall trailers. While it could also be one of these Aphilion creatures, from what I've heard of them, they should've been able to kick the door in without any effort. I also don't think it's a nightmare as that's a power directly attributed to Nezerec, who was already leading the attack on the Traveller and has no reason to deal with some gun-ho capitalists
In canon, the story of Destiny (humanity finding the Traveler) started on September 9th, 2014. So, yes, Destiny happened when Destiny released. Everything that happened before that day is canon to the destiny universe as well, including Halo. Luckily, Halo 5 didn't.
Several things not mentioned or wrong: 1. The nature of the light and darkness and their morality is not a mystery. We know very well now that the light at the creation of the universe was tasked with safeguarding life as it was created, meanwhile the darkness was tasked in safeguarding evolution which meant it had to keep a neutral attitude and let worlds and forms of lives get destroyed so others could prosper. It was the Light manifested as the Traveler that decided it didn't want to keep doing this anymore and broke away from the Darkness to go and help civilizations and stop the darkness's goal of evolution. So both forces are neutral but both the Traveler and The Witness are using those forces for their selfish understanding of what the universe should be. 2. The Traveler did not sacrifice itself for us. As the collapse was coming, Savathun started making herself known to some people on earth as a demonic presence that led to the creation of a cult that when the collapse happened, was told by Savathun to pray to her and that in fact created a spell, the same spell used in the Witch Queen Campaign, that made the Traveler fall dormant above Earth. Savathun saved humanity and the Traveler in her goal of going against the Witness's goal of ultimate "salvation". 3. The Fate of All Fools was simply the beta version of the Jade Rabbit that was given to Eric but the gun eventually released as the Jade Rabbit we know today. Fate of All Fools has the same exotic perk as Jade Rabbit and why the weapon makes a reference to it. Also in terms of rarest weapons that are technically not obtainable, there are a couple D1 Year 1 legendaries that are more rare than anything mention except Fate but Fate doesn't really count cause its a beta weapon given to one person. 4. In a lore drop in The Witch Queen, Savathun talked about something we have gotten hints about before. That something being the fact that in the Destiny canon, there actually is another universe, our universe. Savathun in one of her schemes to escape this incoming Salvation researched The Nine heavily and found out that The Nine know that outside this universe, there is another one. Savathun even kidnapped a tower cryptarch to help her with that goal. It is heavily believed that after her "death" in WQ, she actually made use of this research and somehow left an imprint of herself in this other universe so that she would be safe until she made a plan to return. 6. The Witness's plan is to destroy the Traveler and and take control of the game between Light and Darkness so that the universe is free to evolve and murder each other until it reaches the apex of evolution, aka The Final Shape. This is why they call it "Salvation", since in The Witness's eyes, they really are doing what is best for everyone.
something I would like to mention is that the Traveler didn't not leave to protect humanity, it didn't leave because, in the words of the Witness "it has nowhere else to run"
54:00 Joyeuse has more meaning to Bungie in general than just the Charlemagne sub-mind. Actually, Bungie's first trilogy, Marathon, started a trend that has yet to be concluded in Destiny, which is having AIs related to mythical roman swords. More specifically, Marathon introduces Durandal, the AI that makes the plot go and is based on Roland's sword, Durandal (given to him by Charlemagne himself), while Halo introduces Cortana, which danish legends say Hoger Danske's sword had a inscription saying "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durandal". By that, Bungie's long time fans speculated that there would be a AI called Joyeuse (based on Charlemagne's sword) in Destiny to finish the trio of legendary swords, but that still didn't come to fulfillment. About SIVA and Rasputin, he did have command and authority over SIVA, specially since it was Bray technology. My perspective is that SIVA is made to have a minimum of autonomy to be able to overcome problems and have better performance on it's tasks, even though it is just as much to do what it is told, like when Rasputing ordered it to attack the Iron Lords. Rasputing just gave the orders, the execution was all made by SIVA itself. I don't think it has Darkness infuse, because it looks, acts and works just like *nano-machines, son.*
Actually, the lore tab for Aksis, Archon Prime revealed that there is an independant Consciousness within SIVA that controlled Aksis and the other Devil Splicers the more converted they became. Aksis was just a puppet for this consciousness, and its probably not Rasputin, as Lord Saladin says that the current actions of SIVA "are not Rasputin" My theory is that its Willa Bray, the creator of SIVA who wished to become immortal through SIVA, reshape her body to "anything I want" through SIVA. Her fate was never confirmed, but I think she succeeded. The Devil Splicers were unknowingly worshipping her as a Machine God. Giving their bodily autonomy over to her through SIVA.
On the Traveler: The Traveler and the Pyramid ships are of the same. They even belonged to the same, oppressive fleet that could conquer advanced solar systems without any effort. The capital class ship of the fleet either was rebelled against, or rebelled against the rest of the fleet, and destroyed most of it before making an escape. In the same motion, this action would wipe out the civilization that made the fleet. Thus, the Traveler was given only one directive. Survive. The darkness, however, is the existing voices and consciousness of the civilization that built it. The dark and light are extremely similar, but the light is only from the Traveler, as a sole super-capital that is in a class of its own, limping along on its original directive, using any resources it can, tainting the life around it, while the dark is tainted by the organic, shaped by it, and is the amalgamation of all sorts of emotions, but most of all, the rage felt through betrayal. Source: I made it up. It would be cool though. Actually there are many parallels between the story of the Traveler and that of the forerunners, but Bungie won't blatantly recycle a story and will change some things. By some, I mean alot. Obviously I don't think there's a 'flood' or a war between two super advanced civilizations. Rather, it was only one, that conquered all, and turned against itself in a final act of rebellion. Just wait until The Final Shape and realize that I'm probably less wrong than you think.
My theory about the Witness and the pyramids is that they''ve been to Earth before ages ago, and humans encountered them a few times, informing humanity's common perceptions of aliens and UFOs. This explains why the Witness bears resemblance to the classic "little grey man" depiction of aliens, as well as large black triangular ships being common descriptions of UFO sightings. This could even be extended to the Traveler, as white spheres are also common UFO descriptions.
@FranklyGaming dud I LOVE your deep dives amd this has been my favorite yet. They are so well produced and researched, and i really just love your content brother! I became a father a few years ago and just dont have time for games like destiny anymore, but it was my fav at the time and remains among my favorit lores. This was great for me to catch up and i feel like a sequel iceberg might be in order for this game. My only request for ann iceberg at this point would be doom and the slayer, from the original to now and dead space. Keep up the great work!
I loved this. I don’t play much anymore because I got more lore daddy’s and might just add you to the list. In the earlier part of the video, you spoke of the traveler possibly being evil. What’s funny is Game Theory came up with this idea I believe shortly after launch in 2014. I also concluded this for most of the time so to the silence of the traveler, and vagueness of the speaker. The Clovis experiments remind me of the lord from Halo as well. Maybe you can do some lore hunting for us on Marathon. What if the three games are all interconnected. Where destiny is the beginning, marathon is next and it ends in Halo. It’s just so convenient as well that I’m imagining a Halo destroying a Traveler.
Let's also remember that the Traveler did try to leave the Sol System but was shot by Rasputin which caused it to become damaged and dormant to repair itself. Which is why it stayed. Creating the guardians was literally a last ditch effort to preserve itself, acting in its own self interest. Which is why your mind gets wiped, so that you'll obey, however it cant account for free will.
I know Bungie has retconned that, but they need to explain how the giant shard of the Traveler wound up in the EDZ. It's almost like that was meant to be debris from Rasputin attacking it.
About the !lettinggo video, I feel that it was a peice of lore for the previous campgain destiny was going to follow, before being botched at the request of Activision and redone into the current story of the destiny universe. This could help with the connections between current characters, ideals and possible hints to the current game and lore, as the current story (i believe, I could be wrong though) was based off of the previous version of destiny before activision told them no. While it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that it does hint to the game (and both bungie and the uploader were lying to hind the future lore points not yet scripted), it is most likely that this is the beginning of the story of the previous destiny campgain, whereas in our version of the campagin, different characters have different meanings/paths. Despite this, I still belive that the one talking in the scene where a humanoid type figure is hanging (similar to the guardian of glykon) is raspution. I could be reaching, but I feel that this is the depiction of exo rasputin, as it has been theorised that at one point in time, rasputin had a sub-mind in the body of an exo to live amongst the people and learn from them. This dialogue could hint at the beginning of [rasputins] existence. But I also believe that this could be Charlamane pre being taken over by rasputin. Still, it doesn't change the fact that both Bungie and joyuse have stated that it has no relation to destiny's current lore, but most definitely has something to do with the lore before activison disgarded it. TL;DR: Destiny's story was changed before the game was released, the lettinggo video could have been a lore hint during that period, which is now obsolete due to story/lore changes.
I would love to see the Rasputin section updated with what we know now about him this Season. Maybe when the Season is over, we seem to be finding out new things about Clovis and Rasputin.
Overall this is a really well put-together script, but I do have some critique for this video. Mainly that the visuals seem to rarely match up with the voiceover, at least towards the beginning of the video. You'll talk about how ghosts are responsible for resurrecting guardians, and then a visual for that will play two minutes later during a different topic entirely. You'll mention a specific item or event, but provide no relevant image. If you're using this video as backgound noise, it's not really a problem. But I found it quite jarring and distracting, since I was actively watching. This did improve as the video went on, so maybe this is a lesson you learned as you edited, but I just found it odd.
Alright, i actually knew most of these. The only i didn't was the maybe fake video 2 years before D1. But the Rasputin stuff is really interesting. Like the Vex cannot simulate us or the darkness and therefore are trying everything to get infos, like from Asher Mir. Imagine if Rasputin is able to do that, so he just recreates everything and gets a perfect simulation each time. Huge revelation right there. Also what an amazing plot twist it would be, if he just turned into another antagonist. Like he just wanted us to get rid of light and dark so he could reign supreme as the Tyrant. Or give humanity their "Salvation". He would be the most powerful being (if taken into account that paracausal abilities died out)
This creature sounds like a taken. It’s reported to be glowing and shadow creatures, just like the taken. Maybe a taken of something we haven’t seen before
I believe that because currently in Destiny we are having a season centered around the warmind rasputin and the multiple sub-minds of rasputin that he seemed to have created to work efficiently and more possibly because they were each guarding a planet of their own. And now that we are trying to wake rasputin up after the shutdown from season of the arrivals, I think there is going to be a massive plot shift from what you would actually think would happen. Considering this is the last season before the new expansion, which is presumed to be the titular "Lightfall", I think the theory of rasputin bombarding the traveler and then waiting so long to be turned on after the arrival of the darkness makes it seem that has rasputin has a grand plan to defeat the witness. There is a lot at play here lorewise and i am really ecited for the conclusion of this season and the beginning of our end.
Anyone else Joyuse7 notice that it’s describing the potential ending of the Season of Seraph. Rasputin currently is recombining back into one Warmind. We have recovered a lot of data from the different War-Subminds
I'm pretty sure the crying woman sound effects are the un-edited source tracks for the background sound effects of the nightmares on the moon. They usually play highly distorted crying or screaming effects quietly alongside the main dialogue they speak, kinda like how the Witness has multiple overlapping voices.
that last one about Rasputin firing upon the traveller, you're gonna want to wait till the end of the season and then change it...... or look up the leaked cinematics from this season
I would be interested in seeing another of these videos that cover mysteries like the Guardian's grave seen between timelines or the significance of Lumina being (to my only knowledge) the only weapon in the universe to be forged from Paracausal Light.
The Aphelion is the point in orbit furthest from the sun, meaning the Aphelion in Destiny are most likely beings born of the dark, the furthest from the light
My theory is that, since the gardener and winnowed are playing a game of possibilities, they have to have avatars (traveller and witness) that are some kind of incarnation and can harness their powers of light and dark. I think that the idea is that the traveller possesses it's "pale heart" which the Witness needs to "win" the game and wipe the board clean. The phrase "enough death, enough life" kind of gives the idea that this would be an instant and irreversible deletion of the entire uni/multiverse.
I think I would prefer the witness as a fundamental avatar of darkness than something like Minecraft dungeons' dark illager (ok until he finds a corrupting power)
Oh as a destiny veteran I know some stuff is creepy or just sad, like how exos came to be and it just dawned on me old lore of exos about when they somewhat dream of a field of battle toward a tower, I realized this is related to what happens on Europa during the collapse, expos being revised over and over so many Again or when they died the memory of the battled is still faintly their despite being resurrected
9:50 as compelling as this is, it is actually canon that destiny is a videogame and that at least some of the characters are aware of the fact that our reality exists. Truth to power is a weird lorebook, but under certain interpretations, it seems to indicate that not only is savathun aware of our reality, she has already ascended out of the game and exists in some aspect in the real world.
The joyeus part is perfectly describing season of the seraph event right now it seems like it was planned way ahead and they’re just now getting to it.

@@sirsnuffletuff5517 She'd want to leave immediately
they're supposed to be neutral but the Traveler threw the balance out of wack and that's why the Witness is after it.
"does that mean Bungie themselves are also Canon in Destiny lore?" Short answer is yes. There was lore that dropped in Witch Queen that directly mentioned the Distributary being a child universe of the Destiny universe, and that Savathun was trying to learn from the awoken of how they went from a child universe to a parent universe to reach the player base, which is directly described in lore as "the human minds on the other side"
I'm convinced that Starhorse is also Bungie.
Plot twist: “the nine” are references to something like corp execs/board members/management/majority shareholders
I agree, Starhorse is OP yet it won't lift a finger to help... Just like Bungie lol!
The crying woman sound bite could have been cut content from the red war, particularly the area where you make your way through Shaxx's armory and you see all of the civilians huddled in the room as well

My first thought was the phantoms on the moon
Also sounds panicked and confused, so definitely that might've been it.
Anyone else think it sounds like the recording is reversed?
it sounds like mara sov
Honestly my favourite theory/ piece of lore is that savathun was on earth during the collapse and saved humanitiy “indirectly” by making the traveller stay via convincing a family to take off and follow a star singing a song each night till they arrived at the last city. The theory side of it being the family unknowingly sung a song of hive runes which dragged the traveller down with this star being the traveller.
I can't wait to find out if this is real or not and what the Witch Queen's true motives were.
I though Rasputin shot the traveler just as it was trying to leave?
What lore is that, I must’ve missed it
@@jaxonbaker2106 Fundament ghost shell

The Aphelion is where I believe the story will go after the light and dark saga. It's just too intriguing of a concept, there's alot they could do with it.
I was just thinking of this! Definitely something I want to explore on more.
@@BladesofElysian Fair point. just a thought lol

*Possible spoilers ahead*
According to a leaked cutscene, Rasputin was originally designed to kill the Traveler, meaning his network has the firepower to kill gods

This "game" you speak of is very reminiscent of the flower game the gardener and the winnower played in the Unveiling lore book.
@@foreverpyrite yo ik since lightfall not much has been explaines but this makes so much sense in regards to the flower game
Ya it really is so interesting one of my favorite theories I’ve done so far, thanks for watching!

Talking about how Rasputin might have prediction capabilities like the Vex has now been pretty much confirmed as not the case thanks to the recent new content/ Dungeon - Spire of the Watcher.
This is really awesome I need to check it out, and thanks so much for watching!
That ai was actually the first thing that found out about the darkness tho, it detected strange anomalies and described it as many ships with Egyptian like architecture and moving rapidly

The thing with scary and or evil characters saying “do not be afraid” is that it is what angels would say when appearing before humans and it always trips me out, is the traveler the destiny’s version of the devil, granting eternal life at the cost of eternal anguish and conflict, is the witness representing an angel working to put an end to said anguish through complete destruction, idk just a theory

i just wanted to add that the scorn currently are being controlled (or more accurately directed) by the witness.

You should watch my name in byf's video on the books of sorrow
Ah, be warned, currently the new light intro is dogshit, you may want to watch people that have intros
Several things not mentioned or wrong:
Thank you!
something I would like to mention is that the Traveler didn't not leave to protect humanity, it didn't leave because, in the words of the Witness "it has nowhere else to run"
Nice job, you’re pretty good at covering icebergs!
Appreciate you watching! Love doing the theory videos is fun for sure
Aphelion gives off the same scary vibe as the force drinking monsters in Star Wars Legends that appear when using slip space.
Aksis was just a puppet for this consciousness, and its probably not Rasputin, as Lord Saladin says that the current actions of SIVA "are not Rasputin"
My theory is that its Willa Bray, the creator of SIVA who wished to become immortal through SIVA, reshape her body to "anything I want" through SIVA. Her fate was never confirmed, but I think she succeeded. The Devil Splicers were unknowingly worshipping her as a Machine God. Giving their bodily autonomy over to her through SIVA.

22:25 where in the lore has it ever mentioned Eliksni being revived by ghosts? I'm 99% sure there is no such record, but maybe I'm missing something?
The more I know about deep game lore, the closer I get to having the biggest existential crisis known to man.
On the Traveler:
The Traveler and the Pyramid ships are of the same.
I love your theory and it makes a good amount of sense. So I’m supporting it.

Thanks boss! Just welcomed number 2 home 3 weeks ago so this was a nice reprieve from all the waah.
Well now we know about the darkness, the entity behind it being the witness and the pyramid fleet being what caused the collapse.
It was fan-created.
@@sovereigncharm288 I dunno man the video is sus
@@lazyvoid7107 There's a tumblr post by the creator
Thank you for the honest feedback it helps a lot! Looking into getting an editor to help with broll to improve that portion
jesus christ for a second i thought cayde six's personality was made to hide the fact he ATE HIS CHILD. That was good man.
great video
To hear that Eric survived makes me happy
22:32 bro is strait up making shit up and lying. No eliksni has ever been revived by a ghost in lore
Idk why i will trust you
Alright, i actually knew most of these.
He would be the most powerful being (if taken into account that paracausal abilities died out)
I find funny many of the Rasputin related things on the list are actually getting answered this season, specially the last thing you mentioned
This creature sounds like a taken. It’s reported to be glowing and shadow creatures, just like the taken. Maybe a taken of something we haven’t seen before
I love this idea
1:04:06 This cracked my Destiny world view WIDE open.
Rasputin's gonna unalive himself at the end of the season to stop Eramis from fucking the Traveler up using his Warsats
Anyone else Joyuse7 notice that it’s describing the potential ending of the Season of Seraph. Rasputin currently is recombining back into one Warmind. We have recovered a lot of data from the different War-Subminds
Great video! Well put together, crazy we just learned about rasputin and how fucked up clovis bray really is.
Appreciate you watching!
"Tree of the Silverwing" .. So remember the last trailer the Witness reaching a light and then.. tree branches started to come out?
i see a franklygaming iceberg video and i must instantly watch it, even if I have never once played or had an interest in the Destiny games
Means a lot! ❤️
It's neat to look back and understand some things
For one, The Traveler didn't leave humanity because it had nowhere left to run, literally.
Actually the hive used to be called the krill (idk if that's the correct spelling)
Ya I think I saw some stuff on that I know at one point before they were the Proto hive as well, and thanks so much for warching!
The fate of all fools. God what a time in destiny 1, I ran a few raids with him in some of the community runs. It was amazing guy's awesome
Long, but quite entertaining..! 😎👌🏽 Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Well written, love the theories and lore, great voice over! Thanks for your hard work.
I'm pretty sure the crying woman sound effects are the un-edited source tracks for the background sound effects of the nightmares on the moon. They usually play highly distorted crying or screaming effects quietly alongside the main dialogue they speak, kinda like how the Witness has multiple overlapping voices.
Ok I’m an old grizzled gamergirl but The Fate Of All Fools story got me feeling some emotions.
that last one about Rasputin firing upon the traveller, you're gonna want to wait till the end of the season and then change it...... or look up the leaked cinematics from this season
Now this is how you make a compelling short to get people to watch your video!
Thanks for watching!
I would be interested in seeing another of these videos that cover mysteries like the Guardian's grave seen between timelines or the significance of Lumina being (to my only knowledge) the only weapon in the universe to be forged from Paracausal Light.
I think it was said that the Perfect Paradox was forged from light as well ?
The Aphelion is the point in orbit furthest from the sun, meaning the Aphelion in Destiny are most likely beings born of the dark, the furthest from the light
Glad to see someone covering the more esoteric lore entries in Destiny
My theory is that, since the gardener and winnowed are playing a game of possibilities, they have to have avatars (traveller and witness) that are some kind of incarnation and can harness their powers of light and dark. I think that the idea is that the traveller possesses it's "pale heart" which the Witness needs to "win" the game and wipe the board clean. The phrase "enough death, enough life" kind of gives the idea that this would be an instant and irreversible deletion of the entire uni/multiverse.
*winnower
Imagine saying wish bringer was equivalent to a pinical weapon.
Legit I had 9 of them
Man is so in touch with the story, he mimics the sound of static
Edge Transit?
The edge transit made up 90% of legendary drops when forsaken first launched.
The joyeus part is perfectly describing season of the seraph event right now it seems like it was planned way ahead and they’re just now getting to it.
I've always thought that crying lady sound was meant for the red war. Sure sounds like someone who just watched her family get slaughtered by a Cabal gladiator
If the Traveler was just going to eat the sun, why bring life to planets that had none?
Illogical.
Yeah you had me dying about the cayde 6 part and the kidnapping 13 children lol I started thinking (Nfw!!!) Messed my head up man.
