The visuals are great. The plot and particularly the dialog seems written by an 11-year-old, or maybe AI. The good thing is that since we never see lips moving, the dialog could be rewritten and recorded to make a less shallow film.
I was thinking ~ the same. It's a lot of work to render a short movie like this one. So why waste it on something that is pointless and makes no sense?
@tomaszcichocki8281 Wondering if the dialogue got scrapped for some reason and they had to throw a replacement together on the fly. Doesn't mean you can't watch it on mute!
DAMN, you guys must have had ONE HELL of a budget for this! The plot and dialog are very 'video game' but the visuals are absolutely outstanding. I have to see the first 2 videos now!
next time I find myself in zero g, I'll just start swimming. backstrokes work just as well as mellstrokes? anyway, every second is just perfect, more of this please!
8:23 their ship -- the whole reason they are crossing worlds for -- is outside, well away from the facility in which they end up being ambushed, a facility they KNOW is dangerous because the previous iteration of Mono died there, and they went INTO that facility all the same? and for what? a lame quip about a robot talking about out-of-body experiences? not that there are any stakes nor consequences nor even any tension prior to this point, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised that these dudes don't need to care about any of that; I mean I get it that this is meant to be spoofy and lighthearted, but even spoofs have structure and stakes the audience can care about, when done well
Wonderfully done. If you can keep that story arc going, Hunter and Mono, this could certainly be a big one. Hey, but don't make us wait 2 years! Very entertaining.
As others have noted, the visuals are great, but the plot and dialog are not. Hard to believe someone would go to the effort of making a high quality animated short film that was so unenjoyable to watch. Also, no water splash sounds when the white suited hunter was approaching that ship, and the voices don't have the natural ambient sound they should have. I suppose, "Full marks for trying", but it could've been so much better.
Visuals were fantastic. The dialog was funny (Aussie accents slay me). The plot had more holes than their travel Black Holes. I didn't know what was happening or going to happen most all of the time.
What I don't understand is that when you go through the trouble of making such good graphics, then have pretty big jumps in sequences, and at times a story that is difficult to follow. I've seen this happen in other similar formats. It just doesn't seem to make any sense. Still enjoyed it.
It was very cool ! I liked how I did not understand half of what was going on. I like trying to fill those gaps. Also I want to be friend with this guy !
WOW - I have been watching DUST for years now, and nothing in my opinion comes close to the quality of Nick and Lexie's work - truly the best Indy I have ever seen... Congrats and can't wait for more.. WELL DONE!!
Dialogue a bit simple and cursing is funny but it seemed pushed and not too natural. Some scenes could of used maybe more time to make a good connection like when the robot blew himself up and the guy in the black suit left, felt rushed. More effort in making a better connection with the characters. That big gun he was shooting seemed weak more like a rifle. The visuals and the connection to star wars does not get old. Good graphics and easy to follow story. Overall, I enjoyed it, thumbs up
Aside from the paper thin plot of Hey go do this, now go do that, it was excellent. Work on a more complex and coherent plot and you've got something going.
A fun short! Graphics were excellent, dialogue was a bit basic but it had some funny lines... the storyline had some odd disjointed skips in it that didn't really make much sense tho.
Hmmm 1,000 years into the future and the baddies still can't aim? Are still using guns (of a sort), still can't detect/detain intruders. I know this is fictional but jeez it was insulting to the future.
The scoring was cliché. Why? Well, I clearly can make out three very common musical devices used. I could definitely hear a major dose of David Arnold - Stargate (1994), Jerry Goldsmith - Star Trek First Contact & The Mummy. The music was clearly not helping drive the narrative, the chase scene was as slow as a dirge, the "fight scene" with the scavengers was also very painfully slow in tempo. It attempted a level of "Ryan Reynolds Humour and Wit" but failed horribly, it was misplaced and ill-timed, oh and I swear the bot, Mono, is a cousin to the bot from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, specifically the film version that had the late, great Alan Rickman narrating. The only small redemption this had, were the good visuals.

I will say that the miniature work is top-notch. Absolutely beautiful environment and drone work. I'm super impressed by the brilliant direction of this "movie." But you did not *hook* me. PLEASE work on the script. Form over function. Your job is to get us to care about the _characters_ not the special FX and we don't know anything about these characters except once in a while they crack dad jokes...and they don't care about each other.
Maybe it's an unintended comedy? Sorry, most of what usually gets posted on DUST is 1st rate, but not always, as this unfortunate example suggests. The CGI is very well done, perhaps more suited for a game rather than a film production, as the dialogue and storyline are the epitome of simplistic cliche content. I don't want to disparage the effort and skill that went into creating the visual content, but it will need a bit more work in developing the actual theatrics . . . good luck.
I think the gate will be a triangle and you sort of will have to jump into it, to have some residue momentum not to get stuck inside. somehow I never liked the circle idea neither.
The visuals are great. The plot and particularly the dialog seems written by an 11-year-old, or maybe AI. The good thing is that since we never see lips moving, the dialog could be rewritten and recorded to make a less shallow film.
А тут был сюжет?
Very astute analysis!

@tomaszcichocki8281 Wondering if the dialogue got scrapped for some reason and they had to throw a replacement together on the fly. Doesn't mean you can't watch it on mute!
@tomaszcichocki8281 Possibly. A potential theory could be a falling out amongst people who made the film.
Great fun to watch, more please.
I really want to see more of Hunter and Mono
Soooo, this is what Star Wars meets Bluey is like.😊❤
I enjoyed this! I wouldn't mind this being a series!
Definitely some potential here. Keep working on it. 🤣👍🏻
the characters remained very mysterious at the end
Thoroughly enjoyed this one... totally invested, great job yall🤘🫰🤘
DAMN, you guys must have had ONE HELL of a budget for this! The plot and dialog are very 'video game' but the visuals are absolutely outstanding. I have to see the first 2 videos now!
Really well done. There's a lot of storyline crammed into a small space but the story holds together, and the characters are engaging.
Um ... I loved Hunter and Mono and absolutely need more of them ❤
Cool - Deadpool does Star Wars
Very Star Wars like feel and sound. Simulation of hand-held effect seems overused, but great visuals.
next time I find myself in zero g, I'll just start swimming. backstrokes work just as well as mellstrokes? anyway, every second is just perfect, more of this please!
🐼 Big Panda Bear Hugs from a 70 yr old grandma in Texas, USA and by the way l'm subscribed and l hit Like. 🐼 ❤ 🎀 👍

Thanks for having CC enabled
Really enjoyed this one ♥️ the world was so rich and deep!!
Very nice done, Lucas experience here! Nice work
Love this would love to see more of these guys🎉
That has to be a Culture drone. Informative, unhelpful, homicidal.
Love the script! Go Hunter Jet and Rival, (he's such a Hans Solo!😅) Awesome world building and incredible music ❤
Disposable friends are the _best_ friends.
I love this short movie. WISH IT WAS 1.40 MINUTES. The dialog was something straight out of my unit, overseas

That was great! Do now a full-length movie! I love this stuff!
Have to say I enjoyed this big-time love to see more. 👍👍
The logic of the plot eludes me. Even moreso the actions.
A fun watch. I've enjoyed all three!
I enjoyed the short very much.
Excellent keep the flow ease to follow you kept the dialogue simple London UK
Nice , it has all it needs to make a long film with a good script ...
The Graphics are just AMAZING!!!!
Graphics are lovely and characters are engaging.

this is a cracking space yarn. Pure enjoyable Sci-Fi , doesn't get much better.
It was very cool ! I liked how I did not understand half of what was going on. I like trying to fill those gaps. Also I want to be friend with this guy !
great! waiting for more
With the quality and time involved in doing theses shorts wouldn’t it be great if you made a movie for online services it would be awesome
Everything was great except the absence of a story.
Am I the only one that thinks Stargate SG-1 withe start of the music in a few of these films?? :D
Very nice in the banter really reminds me of my fellow veterans thank you
WOW - I have been watching DUST for years now, and nothing in my opinion comes close to the quality of Nick and Lexie's work - truly the best Indy I have ever seen... Congrats and can't wait for more.. WELL DONE!!
These dudes just need to kiss already, it would make it so much mor interesting
Outstanding ❤
This was entertaining liked the previous short good to see Mono made it 😂
Ха ха ха невесомость это не вода!!! Как можно плыть в невесомости ? Это же научная фантастика. Все должно быть как по физике
That was the *only* bit in the three videos that I enjoyed.
Thank you! I was thinking the exact same thing. The guy was doing thy breast-stroke in zero G. I thought, what is he stroking _against?_
That was the joke of it. The guy is kind of an idiot so it makes sense thats what he'd try to do.
Nicely done.
Star Wars with a little more edge
Great 👍🏻 👍🏻’s up.
omg good, can't wait for more, this is bordering on legend lol

Увлекательно, аж понравилось...
This is a GOOD one.
13:21 this is just embarrassing...swimming strokes in weightlessness? Or did I miss the underwater part?
"I´m prettty sure we´re fucked" XD
326 👍's up DUST thank you for sharing 🤗
Loved it!
When y'all gonna make a full length feature film?
Aside from the paper thin plot of Hey go do this, now go do that, it was excellent.
Work on a more complex and coherent plot and you've got something going.
Good 😃👍
Great..!!
I always wondered what happened to those guys.
This really feels like a cutscene from a video game
Love it!!!
A fun short! Graphics were excellent, dialogue was a bit basic but it had some funny lines... the storyline had some odd disjointed skips in it that didn't really make much sense tho.
Hunter, Mono and Rival.
Who is Rival?
Wow .. great follow up to the last one .. this is going to be one long lazy series, I hope 😊
Anyone who complains about this should be ignored. Great job guys! 👍
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Love it.
I was entertained and watch well. The cursing felt misplaced but it was worth my time and I’d love a much longer adventure
Hmmm 1,000 years into the future and the baddies still can't aim? Are still using guns (of a sort), still can't detect/detain intruders. I know this is fictional but jeez it was insulting to the future.
Bullets are faster than lasers.
Genial 👌

Are films in DUST continuation of each other and should be seen in order or each film has its own story and are independent from each other?
each film has its own story
@@ligaleja739 Thank you
Guy in the black armor is that one player in your lobby with a cheap microphone and he only uses push-to-talk
This is by far the most amazing thing I've seen today. Or this week. Or for months. More of Hunter and Mono please.
most excellent

Star Wars Lite. Surprised if you don't get sued for using almost the exact same music.
TOTALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE
"The Adventures of Captain Obvious" ? If it's not obvious, we'll have the dialog explain it to you.
Just have to say, if we ever discover stargates, they won't be circles you walk through. Probably be more like transporters on Star Trek.
I think the gate will be a triangle and you sort of will have to jump into it, to have some residue momentum not to get stuck inside. somehow I never liked the circle idea neither.
Star Wars and Halo overtones on an Unreal engine. Awesome, dialogue was kind of narrow though.
