Thanks for the video - Picking up a Panasonic recorder for my mum and I was looking for a video I could fire over to her to have a look at dealing with it functions etc
Does it modulate to analog from the antenna output like a vcr? Mostly because I wanna connect it to my old tube TV from the antenna and not a hdmi to composite downscaler
Hi. I commented on this video 2 months ago and finally purchased one today but I wonder if you can help me? When I click on scheduled recording on WebOs on my LG TV I get a message saying “ please connect a USB storage to your TV for recording. I presumed the new Panasonic would be “that” dotage. Thanks Gary
To whom it may concern, I own the DMR EX83 Panasonic Recorder and I am very satisfied with it. However, I would like to discover and to learn how to merge two recorded "titles" into one "title". Every time I record a show from TV onto HDD, I can find it in Direct Navigator as "the new title" and I can share it (divide title) or delete certain parts of it (partial delete), however, I cannot seem to find a way to merge two recorded titles into one in Direct Navigator. I would kindly ask you to advise me on how to do this, Thank you in advance and kind regards
Excellent! I only just picked one up yesterday and managed to install it without too much trouble, but this video cleared up any bits I had missed. Thanks....

The worst has happened, all my recorded titles have disappeared! When I try to record something new, it says "HDD too full" which makes me think they're still there. The recording time left is at 0.00. I happy to delete a couple of files but I can't see anything. What do I do?
@@lords-electrical Can I just check...do you connect your aerial cable to the Freeview/blu ray player and then transmit video via HDMI to your TV? Or do you have to connect another aerial lead from the player to the TV?
I have a Panasonic Viera TV with that exact same interface for online content such as Netflix, UA-cam and such, but it's from 2011 so I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the software installed on the TV so modern services work on it? Currently I can only use BBC Player
If it's over 10 years old then you won't be able to upgrade the software to modern standards. I would normally recommend just adding a firestick to it. That way it is a minimal cost but the user interface will always be up to date.
@@lords-electrical how do I get the UA-cam app back on it. I did sn upgrade and it worked. There is no UA-cam or Netflix apps in the marketplace now. Would a factory reset get UA-cam app back

How do you disable Shop Mode Have been enjoying the DMR-PWT540 for a few years but today it went into Shop Mode and all the colours are saturated. Please how can I change it back to Normal Mode?
@@lords-electrical Yes thanks for that. Actually after tinkering around some more I think the problem has come from my Sony TV. After doing a factory reset on that including selecting Home Mode the problem has been reduced.
my model is a little different. I used to be able to watch the internet channels (7plus, 9now, 10play etc) by pressing the red button. for some reason this feature has suddenly disappeared... why would this be? how can I get it back. I hav checked and it is still connected to the internet.
The red TV button is not just for panasonic tv, it works with any TV so long as you configure it with the right code. A friend of mine has one identical and it works with his Sony TV, and later on with Logik
I have a panasonic dvd recorder. It has been fine up to now but suddenly I want to watch something I have recorded and it wont play. It says play in the top right hand corner but it wont appear on the screen. Can you help me please.
Not too sure, but have you tried to retune it first? Sometimes if it needs retuning or even the aerial lead has fallen out then it may just record a blank screen
My Panasonic freeview dvd recorder has 2 scart sockets on it , i got one from ebay to replace my older one , the problem with it is the volume on the tv is not working although it works on the dvd , it was fine on my old one but the dvd wasnt working hence getting this one , any ideas ? Thanks .
Not too sure to be honest but it could be the scart lead thats faulty or one of the pins is snapped off in the scart lead which can cause this to happen.
@@lords-electrical Well I assume all scart lead sockets are the same , so unless the female side of it on the newer unit is damaged ( and that's highly unlikely ) as it does work fine on the older model in which the dvd is not working anyway I'm sending it back to ebay , thanks for replying.
On this model it is only playback on the dvd side, you can record on the hard drive though. If you wanted to record on the dvd, then look for an alternative model DMREX97.
simple question; I only have sky and bt via sky, i imagine this unit is useless for recording programmes on said platform.....please can the poster inofrm.
Does anyone know how to fix a U61 error? I keep getting this "The operation has stopped. Press OK then the unit will restart itself" and it keeps happening in a loop!
There may be an issue with the lens in the machine. First of all try a dvd cleaner which could try and remove any dust on the lens, but if not then it may need an engineer to look at it.
On my mum and dad's one of these, Netflix loads and you can see everything on a full screen until you actually play something it plays the selected title in a small box in the corner? Cannot seem to find a way to make it bigger. Any one else have the same problem?
The hdmi connection will link the tv and recorder to display what is on the recorder, but you will normally need an aerial rf lead between the 2 as well if you want a freeview signal as well.
Your comments about the TV buttons are incorrect. You can operate any TV using those buttons, but you have to programme the remote to operate them using a code. Unfortunately I cannot remember for the life of me how to do that. I have one recorder in the lounge and operate my Toshiba TV with the remote. I have another in the bedroom but can't recall how to programme it to operate my Samsung. If any one knows please let me know.
I don't know why but both of my grandparents have one of these Panasonic recorders. They seem alright, but as someone with a BT Recording set-top box they seem kind of pointless to me.
Correct, they got rid of the open and close button years ago as customers had them in cabinets and when the drawer was opened accidently with the remote it would damage the drawer.
Only comment is that all of the Apps on a Panasonic device will expire at some stage. So Netflix BBC Player etc etc are not guaranteed to last for years to come. My Panasonic TV has lost most of its Apps over the years. All a bit of a con to keep you upgrading. They call it inbuilt obsolescence. If the hardware lasts too long kill the software.

On this model you cannot record on the disc, you can only record onto the hard drive. The disc is used only to playback either DVD or Blu-Ray discs.

It has got the Hdmi connection, but you won't be able to record the old VHS videos onto this machine unfortunately.
