METRO-NORTH DERAILMENT @ SPUYTEN DUYVIL (12-2-13)

In this brief view from Spuyten Duyvil on the early morning of Dec. 2, 2013, we see cars from the derailment from Sunday morning , Dec.1,2013 laying on their sides after this horrific and tragic accident. As of this writing, the cars have since been up righted. The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 am Sunday morning as the New York bound train from Poughkeepsie derailed just north of the Spuyten Duyvil Station, resulting in four fatalities and numerous injuries. At this early stage of the accident, speed has been suggested as the cause of the accident due to the sharp curve approaching the Spuyten Duyvil station. However the investigation is still ongoing.
