Thank you SO much, I was just about to have a heart attack thinking about the hours of editing I would have to redo, this was a lifesaver. My error message was a little different, it just said failed to load legacy project file. It said that also for the most recent .osp in my recovery folder when I tried that, but the one just before it works like a charm.

Thank You! I've been looking for a relatively basic intuitive editing app to use for my footage. Most of my footage will be the share with Family and Friends. There have been recommendations on OpenShot by Justin Brown and Kevin Stratvert. I respect their advice and checked out OpenShot. What convinced me take a chance was the clean basic platform along with your Tutorials (Parts 1 to 7). I did review all 7 and also Justin's coverage and will be viewing Kevin's. There should always be a solid tutorial package to back up an app and OpenShot seems to have the basics as well a deep dive into editing if user wants to. Personally I don't want to get too wrapped up in editing. Justin mentioned that there was also a manual that can be downloaded and have yet to do so. As I mentioned I did look around but will make a commitment to use OpenShot per the recommendations and forementioned. Keep up the good work and look forward to posting some informational footage. 🤙

I was just following all steps of editing and suddenly the app stopped and shut.. I went to recovery and there were only 2 backups that too in a minute difference.. it gives an error inspite of saving it on the actual folder.. the file error says name ex is not defined... there was nothing as ex mentioned on the file name ..what is that? The file was saved as .osp still it gives error post recovery..my whole effort and time wasted.

let us I have video a person A taking session from stage and video frame is capturing the whole stage. Then what is the option/way to trim the video so that in the new video frame only person A is shown. Something like cropping your photo from a family group photo. Where the new video will of new dimensions showing only your photo.
Brother my latest project is not saved in auto saved recovery folder here some past unnessarey 30 projects but all the latest projects is not in. I worked 6hrs continuously on this project😭😭 that I lost If any other method available??
Jonathan, PLEASE PLEASE remove the auto transition feature, so annoying and wastes such much time deleting these! Or make it optional (it's faulty!). When will an updated version be available?? Thank you for this software. FYI, I totally lost a .osp video uploading to Google Drive to move to another computer with more RAM. It converted to an mp4 without saving any updates on the video project, very strange, and disappeared from the Openshot software despite not being exported.

copy the recovery file in your exact saved location and then open your file...
The recovery folder has been removed since this video was made. I cannot find it anywhere.

What if I can't see the "recovery" folder?
Autosave was enabled but openshot glitched and didn't save a backup, my whole week of work gone
